This is the flattest start of a season for me that I can remember. Too much [censored] and brutality in the world. Footy seems so unimportant and not even much of a positive distraction anymore given all the pathetic dramas from the end of last season. Still I will be watching and hoping for a win. More hope than confidence.

I just wish just once to see one of our forwards would get such a cheapie free like Will Day got just then. Just never happens.

At this stage of his career is a poorly disciplined player. Gets sucked in too easy with niggle and loses composure. Last season gave up the most free kicks ever for a WC player in a game.

Will be likely watching less footy on TV. I can’t stand that whiny snivelling Gerard Whateley. The archetypical wet sponge.

Our forwards get [censored] ball service and have for a long time. I would not blame them. All of our key midfielders have been rated as elite players but no one can say that Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Gawn, Sparrow etc are anywhere near elite ball distributors. Our wingers are just average and the likes of Salem and Bowey are no where near as good as they once were. We are just going to have to live with these forward thrust faults in our game until a new generation crops up.

If he can’t make up his mind to where he wants to be then best forget about him. He could come back to us and decide mid season he wants to play for Collingwood the following season.

It was like we were playing no defence football. Just freewheeling no system stuff. It was only error by Freo forwards or chaos ball movement that occasionally got us out of defence. As for inaccuracy, the sea breeze is strong in Mandurah with no ground protection. The ball was moving all over the place. The ground advantage was big for Freo.

Imagine if we drafted an all time great, club legend premiership captain every year. We stuffed up big time but there was a huge silver lining in the 2009 draft.

I couldn’t believe it that Trengove was playing with his injury and patently obvious he was as slow as a snail towing a turtle for so long before it got out in the public domain. How he was allowed to play was borderline criminal. For a long time many here were believing there was nothing wrong with him and posters who questioned his mobility were shouted down.

We did eventually end up with number 10 Jake Melksham as well. The only club to have 2 players from that draft still on its list I believe. A win of sorts?

Need a longer term list like at least 2 decades of data to see if it validates the OP’s claim.

I believe the problem on Demonland is of adults who act like five year olds. Legislation does not address adults impersonating children.
