I would say that is a very low percentage way to kick a ball in a normal situation so we won’t see that often.
-
Same as Tmac’s Goal sans goal posts. He throws the ball in the air and then throws his boot at it. Both legitimate improvised goals. An elevated ball drop is the best term for it.
-
Well I hope they gave up the bathwater too.

Just curious why do they call him Tex or Texan? There was Texas Ranger Sam Walker who invented an over sized revolver that was only useful for shooting horses and had a tendency to blow itself up. That could be the connection. If so in Crow Tex’s case he shoots mostly blanks when he doesn’t blow himself up.

Channel 7 have the wrong game again. On Fox, 6 goals in 6 minutes at Hawks and Freo.

Had a rotten game but managed to disguise it well in the last 23 seconds.

I would say this was our best win of the season so far. We withstood tremendous pressure early on, took control and fought off their late charge at the finish. I was very impressed with Frost and his speed and ability to always be at the contest. Made Walker look like a second rate hack and that free against him late was a joke.

What they're saying over at West Lakes
John Crow Batty replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
They will be cheering us at Port Adelaide for snuffing out the Crows finals hopes. -
Of course people will say we haven’t beaten a top 8 side. We will soon.

Has a cup of camomile tea just in case at 3/4 time.

Lyon, Malthouse and Eade. Freo, Carlton and GC must be happy with their contributions...not. I don’t think any of those guys would have done better than Neeld. They would have added their own spin on disaster. Too much air had to be cleared out from the top.
-
Neeld: I should have given older players more time to prove themselves ugh!

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Happy with the changes. -
Constable Thomas Lonigan who was murdered by Ned Kelly. The face is vaguely familiar.
-
De Goey from Collingwood out for at least 2 weeks with bone stress to fibula. In plain English it means a broken leg.

AFL says Danger blocking free was correct. Hear no evil, see no evil have spoken. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/dangerfield-ruck-free-was-correct-call-afl-20180724-p4ztbc.html

Went to my electrophysiologist/cardiologist to have my annual defibrillator checkup today. Has worked perfectly for the year with only one event recorded. That was on Saturday 21st of July at around 10pm when the game at Geelong was finishing up. The heart missed a few beats. Previous event was when we beat WC last year just after the game. His advice to me is to stop watching football live. Said I should watch replay but only after knowing the result first. Oh dear! There is such a thing as heart stopper game.

Whoever sacked Norm Smith must be related to Jack Watts.

Yes but if Tmac had nailed the goal the game resets. Geelong could have cleared and goaled from the reset. The dynamics of the game are always in perpetual change. What would be the odds of Geelong scoring 8 straight in the last quarter? A lot of luck also went their way.
-
The players would have been informed. The runner was out taking KH off the ground with under two minutes left. No doubt he would have told the players as would the Geelong runner if he was out.
-
I agree, I don’t think Petracca did anything wrong. He got the ball deep and close to line. A failure to force stoppages at the death killed us.
-
I am talking about the last 25 seconds and not the final 3 minutes when the ball was inside our 50 and a swarm of our players did not try to kill the loose ball for a stopage but were trying to get the ball out or waiting for the release. At one stage Brayshaw picks the ball up and then fires off a short handpass quickly to no one when tackled. He should have swallowed the ball. I doubt he would have been pinged for holding the ball in that pressure situation. It would have been a 60/40 chance for a bounce up and if a free was paid, structures would have been reset and time would have likely ran out. This was the killer tactical error that allowed Geelong out.
-
They would have known there was little time left. We played like we had to score to win rather than kill the ball and soak up time and restructure.

North were highest scorers with 2597 points and finished 3rd Geelong were second highest scorers and finished 6th with 2354 points.

Vince punched the ball back to inside 50 in an area where there were seven Melbourne players. Nothing wrong with that. Instead of trying to lock it in to force stoppage, Brayshaw and Neal-Bullen were trying to knock it out of congestion with the others waiting for the ball to come out. I suggest this was the only error that mattered in the heat of the moment. Everyone should have piled in and stopped the game. Even if they gave up a free it wouldn’t have mattered.
