  1. Oliver having to use the toilet just before the game unusual. Perhaps food poisoning? Would be surprised if the players food got spiked over there.
  2. At least we took two steps forward and one step backwards this season. Though we stepped into the smelliest maggot infested turd possible.
  3. I get a feeling the boys didn’t want to front up to Collingwood next week.
  4. This is worse than 186
  5. Did the players get their food poisoned in Perth?
  6. May have received an omen. I was walking down by the Yarra at Abbotsford and I saw a big tiger snake about an hour ago. Never seen a snake in the area for decades.
  7. It’s going to be a long morning and afternoon waiting. Tough to repeat back to back wins over there. Worried about lack of outside run, we have to max out the pressure for a 100 minutes.
  8. If we get up tomorrow I’d be happy if we go in the GF as underdog.
  9. Tough decision with Fritsch but there may be even tougher ones if we get through to the GF. Comes with the territory.
  10. We visit Perth generally once a year to see in laws. A few things I notice are; Its fantastic when its sunny but one of the most dreary places on Earth when it’s gets a period of bad weather. Beaches and parks are awesome. Not a shoppers paradise. A city of no bargains and boring generic shopping. They are too dependant on mining. Even the bathwater is rusty. They love their fish and chips as much as the seagulls do. Little Creatures is fake craft beer but great wine. Northbridge after 10 pm is scary.
  11. I used to ski a lot in my younger days. Even skied in competitions. Unlike most other skiers I used to sleep in my beaten up canvas top 1950’s vintage Nissan Patrol up at the snow. Couldn’t afford to stay in a lodge and had no rich friends. It was bloody freezing. In those days one could park right up the top of the mountain. One night after a heavy session at the Arlberg Hotel at Buller I drove into a creek near the pub that was covered in snow. The poor truck was standing vertical buried in snow. I had to spend the night there sleeping across the dashboard and steering wheel.
  12. Best snow season in decades and we are deep into the finals. Nothing to complain about here. Rejoice! The more fans get uptight about it the more the opposition will lampoon us.
  13. The old valve radios had a beautiful mellow sound.
  14. Knocked the snot clean out of his nose. Jetta doesn’t hand out tissues.
  15. In 1964 we were living in Powlett St, East Melbourne opposite the MCG, I was 8 years old. The family moved from Collingwood earlier that year. I was already a Melbourne supporter and Barassi was my favourite player. We never went to the games as my dad had to work at the nearby brewery but listened on the radio. A highlight was most Saturday’s when there was a game on my brother and I used to sit on the fence and watch the crowd. I remember hordes of fans passing our front wrought iron fence with their coloured scarfs, beanies and floggers coming up from the Victoria St tram going to and and leaving the games. Richmond still played at Punt Road though so there were always a majority of Melbourne colours parading by most games. After the GF a delirious drunken Melbourne supporter in a suit and fedora hat gave us a two pound note which was small fortune for us then. That’s my memory of the game. A lifetime has gone by since then.
  16. He showers praise on us but content to let the pies fly somewhat under the radar. That’s what he wants. He’s just filling the bathtub for us.
  17. That will be next weeks game between filth and Tigers.
  18. Watching this game was as palatable as watching a porn film starring Donald Trump and Serena Williams.
  19. Always been a spruiker and cheer leader for the club. I guess his services are not necessary now. If not then I hope all is well.

  21. He did a couple of days ago.
  22. I always thought he has been OK for a long time. Only times he looked bad was when the opposition get the ball in quick due to poor pressure upfield. Any defender looks bad in those circumstances and we were dodgy in that respect for a long time. Now he seems to get up the ground more where one he was almost permanently parked inside defensive 50.
  23. Just finished watching BT’s segment. Where was Hogan? Anyone see him in the rooms? Every somebody and nobody connected with the club was there. He has kind of disappeared lately like he must be doing a stint in a remote lamasery in the Himalayas.
