  1. Channel 7 must love us. Goals, goals, goals, adds, adds, adds, $$$....$$$$....$$$! !
  2. A training drill.
  3. If by some diabolical bad luck Gawn goes down we need him to step up. Essential spare parts.
  4. Matt Thompson on THE ROUND SO FAR on afl.com.au said about today’s game against GS something like “Like its Melbourne.. mumble mumble ur...surely....surely....mumble mumble um.....you just never know”. Inarticulate but on the money as anything said about us.
  5. If you win the $150 winning will get you mightily drunk. Please don’t drive.
  6. We are in more less the same position at this stage as last season when we then came home with 3 so called gimmie games and blew it. This season we are under no illusion the last 3 games are gimmies. They will all be tough. We will be good enough or not.
  7. You are assuming our form won’t improve any further this season and buying the talk we can never beat a top 8 side.
  8. I note Port are also screaming foul and murder that Tom Doedee got a 50 metre penalty and goaled after getting a “making him pay” whack over the head from Westhoff after he took a mark. Omac says “hi”.
  9. Richmond last season after a diabolical defeat at the hands of St Kilda in round 16 strung together a series of mostly solid but all unremarkable wins. However in Round 22 against a flaky Freo they destroyed them by 104 points to solidify strong finals credentials though pundits still thought they were not the real deal. We should do the same today hopefully.
  10. This has been an unusual round so far. Every game with some bearing on the 8 has gone to the wire. 5 games decided by under a goal has never happened before. Today there are two supposed gimmie games with finals implications for us and GWS. Confident but nervous that more surprises await. I just hope Carlton offer up the surprises.
  11. Tough luck Port. I don’t recall Hinkley complaining about the unjustness of it all when the maggots gifted them the game against us.
  12. That was so long ago I’ve forgotten that game. I was probably there.
  13. Glad Hawthorn won. If Essendon won there would have been 9th, 10th and 11th on 44 points. That’s 3 teams that can replace us in the 8. Big bummer that North won.
  14. Maybe over did it but the wet slippery conditions did not help. The knock on is a potent weapon to break down structures and for quick ball movement in their game style. In the wet it it loses its advantage somewhat.
  15. And the Crows pride is stinging bad. A slim finals chance and revenge on their bitter rivals is a huge incentive.
  16. Interesting all this talk that we haven’t beaten any team in the current 8. If we had beaten Geelong it would still be the same situation as of today. And if we manage to beat the Swans it will stil mean we haven’t beaten the current top 8 side after the fact. Our only chance to bag a top 8 side only comes in the last two rounds.
  17. We traded pick 66 for him. The only late picks of note in 2017 were Zac Langdon at 56 and Matt Guelfi at 78. The odds were poor that we could have done better.
  18. Bulldaogs won the flag without their inspirational captain Bob Murphy. We can do it too.
  19. I would hate to see a rule come in that would further advantage Collingwood and Richmond. This is AFL conspiracy stuff.
  20. I knew a guy who was born with hand and feet deformities and had all of his toes and most of his fingers missing. Played in the Amateurs competition. He was a great footballer in the bollocking Viney inside style and was even invited down to Hawthorn to train at one stage because of his impressive performances overcoming his disabilities. His major weakness was his kicking. Could not get any distance.
  21. Charlie Curnow has got off on appeal for whacking Stephen May. I can’t recall any player having their punishment upheld on appeal this season. They all seem to get off. Can anyone correct me?
  22. You obviously were not around when Carlton had their squad of scantily clad cheer leaders known as the Bluebirds in the late 70’s to 1980’s. Other clubs had them too. The comments from opposition supporters when they performed and sadly including ours plumbed the deepest depths of sexual crudeness. Cheer leaders were a horrible experiment and brought the worst out of AFL supporters. Read this article. https://blogs.slv.vic.gov.au/such-was-life/carltons-bluebirds/
  23. His effort to get the ball and set up the last goal was very good. He was metres behind his opponent and willed himself to get to the contest and win the ball. Problem is he doesn’t do this kind of work often enough. Needs more of this kind of intensity in all contests. If he is carrying injuries then a rest should be considered.
  24. We see it all the time. A player gets tackled, loses the ball and by luck or design it hits his boot and it’s play on. If he misses it’s a throw, dropping the ball or other form of incorrect disposal.
  25. I noticed that too about JKH. I hope his work gets more respect in the future. it was striking to me as this game for three quarters was almost identical to last years game against them. They come out of the blocks and we struggle to keep up. We get sniff late in the second quarter then blow them away in the third. We did not have a rainy last quarter though and continued on way then. I don’t think our game holds up too good in the wet.
