POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
I have the feeling we are never going to take the next step with those two as leaders. The disconnect, inconsistency and confusion on the ground is obvious. Two lesser half captains do not equal one effective captain. We have players like May, Lever, Lewis and Melksham appearing to doing all the talking and pointing on the ground. These two seem to be playing their own game. Viney tries hard but lacks too many prerequisites to be elite and the basic smarts. Jones appears to play a selfish game as another poster said earlier. Always burning teammates and rarely lifts when things get tough. Unsighted for the past three last quarters. Viney stifles midfield momentum with his inability to get the ball out to advantage. Jones is currently just plugging holes that any Wagner, Lockhart, Stretch etc, can fill just as good or better if they had consistent game time. Jones retirement cannot come soon enough. If for sentimental reasons we keep playing him till he reaches 300 games then our next season and perhaps the following season are stuffed and forget about any premiership window staying open.

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
We know Viney was missing injured in the last quarter against WC but I have noticed him and Jones have been pathetic in the last quarters of the past 3 games. When we need leaders to stand up they are the first MIA.

Free to St Kilda for high tackle by Petracca and goal.

Membery loves playing against us. He has kicked 26 goals against us. His next favourite beetch club is Carlton with 16. Bruce does well too. We are third on his beetch list behind North and Essendon.

Are you suggesting the grand final sprint?

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
If there is too much heat that he can’t pick up the ball then try to tap it out to advantage. No he has to eat like Jones’s used to when playing inside.

We are faarked just like the Melbourne building and recycling industry.

Third game in a row where we were completely useless in the last quarter.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs St Kilda
That’s an error. Been saying that since the start of the game. They haven’t edited the previous weeks stats properly.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs St Kilda
Will be looking forward to the creative excuses from the regular turd polishers. Their calling is getting tougher by the week.

Never mind the quality of the opposition. We save our worst for prime time. Could get ugly and embarrassing.

Darren Burgess officially our new fitness coach.
So we have beaten other suitors from overseas, AFL and ARL to capture his services? Must be worse basket cases than us for him to reject them. I hope we haven’t overpaid. Suspiciously looks like that as we have been there before.

Future of the NT
Since every other Victorian team gets to play often on the MCG, the reality is for this season we have only 4 games at the MCG which truly give us a traditional home ground advantage. The NT deal sucks bad. Support from the locals is non existent. Given the small population it appears they support anyone but us at every game since they always turn out in numbers. It’s like a Harlem Globe Trotters game for WC, Freo, Port and Adelaide with us playing as the hapless Washington Generals. If the AFL want games up there they should make it annual GWS and Suns games. The locals get their game, the TV Channels get a game to show and no else would care.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Like last week and many other games this season no matter how competitive and strong we are during the game we toss it away in the last quarter. We rarely look like winners at the death.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Better disposal efficiency, marks inside 50 and contested marks but losing inside 50’s. Very unMelbourne like.

Neville Jetta will have tough a game. Too many whiz bang WC indigenous stars to cover.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Yes we will play with zesty gay abandon or get flogged mercilessly. Can’t see options in between.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
That’s true. Also just shows how much of an irrelevance we are that we gift our home games to interstate clubs.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
I wonder how much support we will get from the locals up there? All the NT supporters seem to favour any other team over us over there. The Crows, Port, Freo and WC always seem to be the home crowd favourites and we are the Washington Generals to be humiliated. I hope the umpires don’t fall for the home crowd effect if we somehow are in the unlikely position to win late in the game. The only Melbourne supporters appear to be a few locals that seem bussed in and kitted out in brand new Melbourne colours who appear to confused to cheer or not when we score a goal.
