And now Dill has suggested that Hawthorn could be given a wack !!!!! FMD !!! What a beautiful system! -
I'm glad Tommo is getting another go - he is a good player. Smith ? I wish him well but .....I really just don't know about this bloke. Hope for the best.

I have often wondered about this Luci. Is it likely that many/most of those "guests" are in fact D'landers who have not logged in or simply wish to read anonymously?

Ignoring the universal dislike of Zorko, again I am left confused by the decision. I was watching 360 last night and it was reported that both the oppo player involved , Peddlar, and his Club's medicos reported no contact to the eye. I have no idea of Zorko's intent but a hand coming into contact anywhere on the face, in that type of situation would , on most occasions, be incidental.

I have read @BoBo 's take above, and agree with his emphasis on the importance of finding 1. I have quoted it below "No adverse findings have been made in the Independent Investigation against any of the individuals against whom allegations have been made (“Individual Respondents”)." However, I would like a lawyerly interpretation of just what this statement means in relation to, particularly, Clarkson and Fagan. Does " No adverse findings" mean that there is no evidence of wrongdoing? Is it an exoneration? Or is it to be interpreted as BoBo suggests, that we really aren't any wiser so let's just ..... err move on ? Over to our in house KC - calling @Redleg. -
are teams announced tonight ?

That stove top is red hot. If I put my bare hand on it, I will be burnt.

I believe this was my last comment on this matter. Well the enquiry has been completed - probably to the satisfaction of no one. Be that as it may, the presumption of innocence must stand! If any of the parties wish to take the matter further, then I believe there are avenues to do so and we must await any outcomes. I believe any further discussion , at this time, will only lead to unnecessary ( and by the fact of a closed investigation ) pointless vitriol. I respectfully suggest that this thread be closed. -
I think our difference is semantics bb. I don't believe the AFL is "corrupt" in the sense that Gleeson receives a paper bag for a particular finding, or that umpires get a bonus for awarding free kicks to influence an outcome. However, I will agree that certain outcomes, or the sometime success of one team over another, will suit the AFL's profit making agenda better than others. Perhaps "unscrupulous" or maybe "amoral" would better suit us both ? In my view though, my original descriptor of [censored] up is most apposite.

The word "corrupt" is used a lot. I don't believe the system is corrupt - It is just totally brocken. [censored] is a far more appropriate description ... but I'm not allowed to use that word. I'm not just talking reports and the MRO, it's also the umpiring and inconsistency in paying free kicks within games. I certainly no longer have a clue as to what's going on - I don't think I'm alone. During the JVR stupidity, I quoted Jordan Lewis' comments on 360. I believe they are still the best summary of the current [censored] up in our game , so I'll restate them - " The AFL is making up the rules as they go"

Never owned a "Sandman " bb .... but ,back in the day, I was the proud owner of an EH panel van. Did some damage in that!
-
Yes bb , my carriage was ,remarkably, awaiting. About the only bright spot in an otherwise ****ty day at the football.

Anyone who picked the tipping card this weekend either knows sfa about footy or should immediately buy a tattslotto !

Probably for the best !

The stuff of dreams Dub! I watched us miss 4 or 5 set shots that I reckon I could have kicked ( despite my fat guts). It cost us the game!

I thought you'd had one years ago chook!

Great start Joe - I'm tipping a shocker from him.

Early on RTG, I quite admired him for a bloke having a crack. However, since I saw him get away with dirty/cowardly kneeing of opponents, I despise him.

I took them in my pre season final eight multi but didn't (and still don't) consider them a flag chance.

I went to Primary School in Epping and grew up in Mernda. It was a small community in those days. I believe the Vearings had a small farm between Epping and Wollert.

[censored] game ! [censored] result! [censored] umpiring ! Umpiring did not cost us the game- we [censored] it up quite nicely ourselves. However, I can only conclude that I have no idea of the rules anymore. I’m just totally confused at how/ why most free kicks are paid or not paid.

Welcome back Maple - enjoy the game
