Norf are playing "premiership" footy! They missed a couple of set shots or Freo would be buried. Amazing

Your Least Favourite AFL Team (Poll)
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demonstone's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's actually very difficult to single out one because I vehemently hate all the other original VFL teams. However, I do reserve a particularly nasty place in my bowels for Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon. ( I don't mind the Swans and the Giants ) When a decision must be made though, I just can't go past the particularly appropriately named "filth". -
Sadly I will be an armchair supporter today. A major point of interest will be the handling of Petty and BBB. Unless lubrication ports have been installed in BBB' s knees ( the bees knees) we know he won't get through an entire season. We all hope Petty is fully recovered , but, we've all seen those type of injuries become recurring problems. And then there is Tmac ! Maybe today will provide some insights into how these three are going to be managed. Today's result? The Hawks aren't mugs but if we are serious a comfortable 35 point win is on the cards!

Sadly, my head says the filth will win tonight ..... but .... my ticker would love those [censored] to go zero three !

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was at the game and was astounded by the decision. Is this what some ( obscure ) rule requires or did the umpire , for whatever reason, simply choose to bounce at that spot? Could one of our resident rules experts explain this please? @daisycutter ? -
Good post Dgirl ! It is a terrible set up and destroyed what was usually a good game day atmosphere. We members/supporters have been [censored] around just to accommodate the media.

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs

On the train from Scumbury- a surprising number of Dog supporters! They are looking far too smug and happy- I feel very much like handing out a jolly good thrashing or two ! Hopefully I’ll arrive at the G in time for a couple of heartstarters with @Moonshadow ( poor company I’ll admit) -

Just finishing off a little soiree at The Manor. Good night all round and enjoying lashings for desert. After a quick kip, your good old Uncle Bitter will be up and about to watch the Dees clean up the Doggies. The highlight for me today will be, Kozzie's return, Clarrie's improvement from last week's run and Max bouncing back. I'm also keen for Hore to go well - as I thought he was stiff when de listed. The Dogs are no mugs and if the Dees are a bit off it could be dangerous DEES by 27 points. -

Thommo out of the squad ! [censored] if I understand that. I would love to be a fly on the wall in selection meetings because ,honestly, I just don't get some recent decisions. -
I quite liked Cox when he first started at the Filth ...... but he's developed into a first class [censored] wit. Something to do with the company you keep I suppose.

Quite right old . The gap between a good amateur and a top line pro is light years in almost any sport. -

There are a number of good reasons for BBB's inclusion. His forward play nous and experience. His reliable kicking. The fact he will draw defenders and thus take the focus off JVR and frittata. However, given his age and wonky knees, the big question is whether he has the fitness and durability to run out a game at AFL level. Hopefully the coaching staff have and accurate and reliable take on this. -
Thanks Deelightful - wonderful and useful word!

I believe Marlon Brando was an expert on this subject.

Lighten up Ernie!

I'm too busy debauching to post !!!

@Demonstone above is correct with his comment about a ragebait generator. We should all know by now just how witless Slo bbo is. BTW. Notice he couldn't resist a little shot at the MFC in his Max Gawn comments.

POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well the scoreline is meaningless. I enjoyed a couple of the new faces showing a bit - notably Brown and Windsor. Although I was a bit disturbed when the first kick I saw Windsor ( touted as an elite disposer) take was a dead set turnover - but I got over it ! Does anyone ever tell Viney, "It's only a praccy game Jack"? [censored], he goes like a bull in any situation at any time !!! The big and main positive of course is that Clarrie is back!! -
