  1. You left out the Semi against the Hawks. My point was we played like the Demons of old today. Do I think we are on the right path. Absolutely. Tomorrow the sun will come up and off to watch Casey in the GF. After all tomorrow is another day. Bring on 2019
  2. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-09-22/bitter-end-to-a-season-of-promise-for-the-dees Well worth a read.
  3. Perhaps I should have said this season exceeded my expections. You sum up the rest. But winning 2 finals is better than the wooden spoon which a few years ago was common place. As I said earlier in the thread in season 2019 we MUST finish top four. Anything less will be a failure. If we don’t win a premiership in the next 4 years with this core group it will be a failure also. After 50+ years of following this club I am totally over failure make no mistake.
  4. Pretty much the point I was trying to make.
  5. I am happy with the season as I stated in this thread. I am unhappy when we lose like we did today. You are one of my favourite posters on here. Are you happy with today’s performance? It was about as bad as it gets. We were beaten in every facet of the game.
  6. Agreed. Time to stop being the Demons of old when the heat is on. 2019 no more excuses.
  7. Add a premiership as a minimiun in the next four years is a non negotiable. We are now into or 55th year without one and with this core group anything less is a failure. My expections this year was to make finals and win at least one.
  8. Next year we MUST finish top 4. Should have this year and things might have been much different. See Collingwood.
  9. Embarrassing end to our finals run ?
  10. All the best with your health. A win should help you to feel better ??
  11. I will be going with friends to the MCC to watch the game. Great atmosphere at the bar area, and will enjoy it even more at “our ground”
  12. It’s our traditional ground, always has been. Forgotten history. (No political statement intended)
  13. Successful in the GF ballot this year so ?? I find I use my MCC membership less and less as I am getting older (but I am retiring next year so maybe I will use it more). Lining up overnight to get decent walk up seats is getting less and less attractive for the GF if I don’t get a reserved seat in the ballot. Very expensive to keep and not keen on giving it up after 40 years. Glad I have my Trident membership as well because most of the people I go to the games with are not MCC members.
  14. I was eight years old and was sitting in the old southern stand with my eleven year old sister. Mum organised and paid for a cousin to take us to the game. Mum and my brother sat in the MCC members using ladies tickets. My brother chose the Dee’s and everyone else jumped on board. I can remember Ray Gabelich “running” into goal with minutes to go to put the Pies in front as it was right under our seats. Then tears from a young boy that turned in to tears of joy when Ray “froggy” Crompton goaled for us in the dying seconds to win the game. We all still follow the Dee’s, Mum is 92. She raised 3 kids on her own after my useless womanising father left us When I was two. Thanks mum for saving and buying the tickets. Finances were always a struggle. Fingers crossed for another premiership VERY soon!
  15. The Hawthorn behaviour starts at the very top. I watched Clarkson’s post game presser. A poor loser indeed. Gave Melbourne credit but you could tell he didn’t mean it.
  16. We need to register for Grand Final tickets. WOW!
  17. Spargo: very important moments.
  18. Better the hat than the team, sign of good luck against the Cats, “taking one for the team” for Friday night. Birds have a cloaca so you get the Poo & Wee in the same s hit. ?
  19. Melbourne is playing the Wee and Poo. It’s an omen, it stays.
  20. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-08-28/huge-demand-sees-ticketek-call-halt-to-sales Saying there will be staggered ticket sales. Staggeringly stupid not to have done it in the first place.
  21. Common sense would have had Richmond v Hawthorn today all day for members and our game tomorrow and halve the traffic FFS, AFL & Ticketek you morons there is a week and a bit before the games. ?????????

Most improved MFC player 2018 for mine.
  23. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/clearly-it-is-an-assault-case-for-gaff-to-face-the-law-says-galbally-20180806-p4zvpv.html Lots of talk about criminal charges for Gaff. It reinforces to me we can all have a moment of madness and what the consequences could be if you do.
