  1. The question of the many thousands was would we lose draft picks, my answer was if that is the case we will fight and fight and fight so no, in my humble opinion of course, personally in all this I think Chris Connoly will fall on his sword
  2. the sky is falling the sky is falling the sky is falling the sky is falling the sky is falling the sky is falling the sky is falling are we attempting a world record for the number of topics and posts on a subject that absolutely nobody and I mean nobody knows the whole story about..........I think we should stop now, as it is becoming more and more pointless the longer the investigation goes on For my two bobs worth on this whole thing, if and a big IF, the AFL does find us 'guilty' do you really think the Club are just going to wear the consequences when other Clubs have done exactly the same thing and gone 'unpunished'.............this will be setting a very dangerous precedent
  3. I think you will find rather than Pedersen not being fit, Fitzy is over all his niggles/illnesses and will grind anybody into the ground to prove he is ready.....don't forget they are competing for the same position.....besides that Fitzy is seriously fast
  4. I can see Strauss in the best 22, dependent on the opposition, when you say you saw Strauss, on how many occasions are you basing this judgement, the 18 games he has played at senior level, I thought the first few would be him gaining a bit of confidence being at AFL level and then nearly another half of them are when he was returning from a badly broken leg.......I saw him through his Junior days and playing for Casey...hence my opinion As for best 22, I think Neeld is looking for a best 30 or so, so he can play mix and match, if the opposition doesn't have many tall defenders we can throw a big fwd line at them........if we need grunt in the middle it will be Jones, Viney, McKenzie etc....if we want to spread quickly it will be Byrnes, Rodan etc
  5. Mods - can we now merge all the handwringing, judas-searching, soul-wrenching posts and close now......the statement says to me the days of MFC taking [censored] from anybody are over......let's wait for the AFL to move
  6. Would you like to say which years AGM that occurred at, I have been to the last half dozen and feedback is encouraged, including the 'culture' question from last year, so please when was it?
  7. So I assume you are assuming there are guilty people within the Club, would you include the many supporters that gleefully cheered when Jordan McMahon kicked that goal.....surely that act qualifies as a 'Judas' act
  8. Troy Davis is a monster (his nickname is the Beast), if we have kept him, it is for cover for Chip and Sellar, he will be even bigger and stronger after this pre season...Joel Mac and Dunn will be competing with the likes of Strauss,Tynan,Garland, Nicholson to defend the small to medium fwds, although Dunny is big and mean enough to take some of the bigger fwds
  9. Thank you for your wonderful well balanced post, didn't attack me personally, wasn't sarcastic or demeaning, a breath of fresh air really, careful you don't fall off your high horse..... the point I was actually trying to make, is yes Joel Mac dropped a few marks, made a couple of errors, but towards the end of the season he had, and I know you will hate the word, because it doesn't sit well, improved in these areas, mainly because he knew he had to to continue to get a game....but feel free to keep perpetuating the myth If you have such an outstanding knowledge of what is required to be a premiership team , I assume you are going to apply for the next job that comes up in the Footy Dept I am not settling for anything, yes I want to see the Club win a premiership, but if I see a player unfairly lambasted then surely I am allowed to say so.....or perhaps not going from the tone of your reply....woe betide anyone that doesn't agree with the majority or who are percieved as soft.....
  10. The average is about a quarter of the possessions to clangers My point is Joel Mac seems to be now the object of hate, why do we have one?......do some people need it to cover their own inadequacy.............., I don't see any of the keyboard heroes on here willing to put their body on the line for two hours every weekend........they are sitting in the stands drinking [censored], scoffing pies and shouting abuse at their own players....... As I have said in many other posts...if it gives you the shits so much....why watch and "support"
  11. How does he kill us? If you look at the stats for last season, the one with the most clangers for last season was Nathan Jones, let's think he won the B&F didn't he If you must follow the rest of the 'haters', if I am one of the likers, do you want to back it up with some reasons? he kills us The top few clangers were Jones McKenzie Trengove Frawley Howe Grimes Bail Garland Sylvia Tommy Mc Joel Mac The top possession/disposals were Jones Grimes Trengove Howe McKenzie Tom Mc Sylvia Frawley Joel Mac Hang on there is something going on here
  12. Agree, unfortunately Stuie, some will never see, we are rebuilding our defence, surprising what another season together might bring
  13. Gee some of the posts on this topic are hilarious, some want to try facing the green bit when they are at games Strauss was an elite kick as a junior (watched him a lot), shown it a couple of times in games, but broke his leg, if anybody has done this, the real test is to get airborne again and land and turn......he gradually worked his way back into it last season....full pre season and watch out.. Spencer, an absolute monster who will only get better and better which he has done, just turned 23 so is not near his prime as a ruckman, I for one have no issues with the effort he puts in, the kicking will improve.....he will keep Jamar honest Bail can run and run and run, again came from way back, was playing in Qld local comp when we got him, skills will improve with time, perfect link man up and down a wing
  14. There are things to remember in all this when we are looking for people to get rid of, recruiting is a team game as well. But Cook was the under 18 All Australian CHF, in other words the best under 18 player in that position in the country, who wouldn't have taken him Cale Morton absolutely killed as a junior, perhaps that was the problem, his growing up, the change may do him good Bate is a 100 game AFL Player etc etc
  15. I read every post on this topic and then had to have a lie down....is it me?
  16. I think this topic is beginning to explain the psyche of some of the posters on this board....Ladies and Gents this was a game of footy......gee
  17. If you go past AAMI and they are training, you can stop and watch any session from the fence, done it heaps of times, (when they do something for a game like middle setup, it is hidden away inside AAMI Park itself) but you will get looked at if you are constantly filming or taking notes
  18. Read a story along similar lines, except most of the Nazi war criminals died of old age......
  19. I agree but what probably peeves both myself and Binman is the constant referencing to the past, yes we stuffed up, but the new season starts now, we have all new people and as we have seen, lots of changes, so let's give it a go.....what the Club did 15 years ago doesn't matter anymore.....and the constant referencing to 186 as if it is on a par with 9/11 is positively disturbing (apart from the fact some may say it is just adopting the numerals to add significance)....this is footy, nobody dies, you get to try again the next game, the next season.....if Mark Neeld's plan does not work, do you really think he will be here in two years time....everybody knows that
  20. A valiant and well thought out try......but it won't work......although a few were busy this morning trying to hijack 'Hungry for Sport', and may have not recovered enough yet.....somebody even mentioned Joe Gutnick.......altogether....look over shoulder....never look fwd
  21. It was his ankle, was on crutches at the B&F but said he would be ready for pre season anyway, it was just a clean up, apart from everything else that was thrown at him, he had been playing with the ankle since arriving at the club........he hopes everything is behind him now and he can finally just play footy...on the diabetes front...he has a program mapped out
  22. Oh so you are still here, name calling very impressive, I would call myself an up to date member rather than peanut...can you call yourself the same?
  23. Damian Barrett on Trade Radio has said we have been shafted.....so it must be right...NOT send the [censored] a tweet and tell him, I did.....Wallace going on about the changes, so sent a tweet about Hardwick doing the same thing at Richmond after another coach who's name escapes me was sacked
  24. Witholding your membership, I suppose that is the same as taking your ball and going home I don't work with the Footy Dept so I am not totally sure of the Rodan recruitment, but if we can get him anywhere near where he was about 18 months ago, a hardbodied quick midfield rotation who can kick a goal...that will do me...and we are not mushrooms Neeld said THERE WILL BE CHANGES....I AM NOT GOING TO DRAFT 8 KIDS....where is the surprise?
