POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
@kev martin Kev, I agree - the idea that the G is somehow an advantage for us is apocryphal: it is also the home ground for Collingwood and Richmond, but the advantage is greater for them, due to the size and noise of their supporter base. Unfortunately, at most Melbourne games, our crowd may outnumber the opposition, but is not loud enough (in my opinion) to give us that significant advantage. This might be going slightly off-topic, but I believe that a home base is crucial now, to galvanising our support that has built up so well these past couple of years. Some may say itās a question of social demographics, but I see all the fences still painted from last year, the banners still up on the houses and I believe the passion is there, it just needs to be harnessed and concentrated. I drove past Punt Rd oval yesterday, taking my daughter to her netball GF (they got done 12-9, bloody umpiring!) and saw the crowds going in for the Richmond AFLW game, with merch stands etc and it really struck me for the first time how disadvantaged we are, as a club, not having a base to congregate at. In fact, it could be a massive reason as to why the club has been so starved of success over the years. In order for the G to be anything more than an historical significance for the MFC, our supporters need to own it, to create a hostile environment like Richmond and Collingwood. Thatās hard to do, when you donāt have a place to congregate and call your own.

Finals 2022: Week 02
Totally agree on the 7:50 start time: too late for most kids. I get that itās about getting people in on a Friday evening after work, but Iām sure most people could get there for 7:20.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Papley is one of the most irritating players aboutā¦but I wish he played for us.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I was thinking along similar lines today: we now have the best defence and a stellar midfield. The last piece of the puzzle is the forward line: looks like JVR will be in next year, but I think we also need a big target (Weid isnāt going to cut it) and also another skilful flanker who can deliver good entries.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Appreciate you putting yourself through all that again! You are spot on - thatās how I saw it at the game: poor execution and discipline led to many of their goals, although the last few were very good, as the Swans became more confident. To my eyes, we are still a good team, but our mojo has been missing a lot this year. I thought it had sparked vs Brisbane, but I thought we looked flatter last night. Our forward line is still undermanned and when itās not firing, itās REALLY not firing.

2022 Finals Tickets
It's not really the club's fault - they are at the mercy of Ticketek. I can't remember having the option to buy 10 tickets in 2018, but this is a ridiculous idea. Perfect for scalpers who want to use the Ticketek re-sale site, so Ticketek get their commission twice on those tickets. Really hope everyone who wanted a ticket, managed to get one. If not, and you are a member, the club is surely obliged to find you tickets?

2022 Finals Tickets
If you are an MFC member (apart from GA, I think) you are guaranteed access to Finals tickets, so the club are obliged to sort you out.

Also 10 tickets per barcode?! I shouldnāt be allowed to get 40 tickets with my family membership (Iām not, obvs).

2022 Finals Tickets
Stupid idea to put the 2 games on sale at once.

Harrison Petty incident
Absolutely - on the Herald Sun app, there is no report on the game, just two stories from last night: the Petty incident and BBB getting his face cut up. Real low quality stuff.

Ben Rutten
Why should he walk now? He has the upper hand in any discussions - he would know that heās not wanted now, so he should be getting the Bombers to pay him to walk. If he resigns, his payout will be much less. Iād suggest that he probably has no stress now - heās been treated so appallingly, that he has the sympathy of everybody. Plus, he could land a plum assistant role, while he waits for his shot at the big chair again.

Footy Classified
Totally agree - the footy media is appalling: I canāt even think of any exceptions. Dumb, sensationalist boys club, based partly on guesswork and partly second hand gossip. They wouldnāt have a clue.

Premiership Metrics - what do the last ten premiership teams have in common?
Although, a distinct home advantage and a more favourable draw may skew things for the Cats? I donāt know - just clutching at straws!

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Much as it pains me to say it, I think the Cats will win it this year.
