Not quite the words I would have chosen Was he actually recruited as a ruckman? Could be wrong, but I had a feeling they intended to use him up forward.

So, are you saying we should not provide links to any articles in any press as well? After all, that could be considered the promotion of major media interests. I found the article to be interesting and relatively informative.

Is Jessie White at the Swans not available?

Can anyone tell me what these MFC players have in common?

You are stalking all of them on either Facebook or Twitter? -

They all have a name containing at least one letter of the alphabet. -
I would be considering the Swans' Jesse White... 196cm and 105kg, powerful hard at it forward with a good pair of hands (from what I have seen of him) and a good boot.

The GC and GWS coming to steal our flags
hardtack replied to darkhorse72's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was just thinking (dangerous, I know), but I haven't noticed anyone else put forward this thought, so... wouldn't the fact that GC and GWS are going to be recruiting across a wide range of positions mean that there is a good chance that there will still be top ten picks up for grabs? For example, if the draft was top heavy with mid-fielders and there were a couple of likely other KPPs (forwards, backs, rucks etc) in the 10 - 30 range, they are unlikely to be just grabbing the first 10 draftees to come along... so depending on what positions we (and others) are looking to fill, it may not be all doom and gloom. Just a thought. -
Thanks for that... I suppose with all of the injuries we have been experiencing, I was expecting the worst... would love to see him getting a run in the Casey firsts soon.

I asked this on the Casey Game Day thread, but it seems not much traffic goes through there at this time of the week, so I will ask again here (besides, I suppose it is as relevant in this forum). I noticed early in the Casey Game Day thread that there was a mention of Jack Fitzpatrick being injured in the reserves. I haven't been able to find any more detailed information on this anywhere at all, so am wondering if anyone here might know what the extent of the injury was and how well he was performing up until the time he left the ground. Thanks in advance.

Was one of my favourites back in those halcyon days... was our local member when I was growing up in Croydon.

That's easy to say when you aren't having a couple of million bucks waved in your face :-)

PM, that's not good enough for some on here apparently... in the other RP thread there was a response to that Tweet, that indicated there is a small amount of blue in the GC's predominantly Red and Yellow team colours
-
Yes, god forbid that he may have wanted to visit his family who live on the GC and that he may have wanted to take in a game of footy while he is there and maybe the chance catch up with a few playing mates.... "the sky is falling!! the sky is falling!!"

The Arrogance of James Kelly (2010)
hardtack replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is what I find funny (but not humorous) about these kinds of threads... all of a sudden everyone starts to dredge up all sorts of little stories that they believe justify the attacks on the offending player. All the guy did was engage in what is probably a "private" joke amongst team mates at the GFC and meant the MFC no disrespect at all. -
Pringle, it was I who revisited this thread to make precisely that point, but unfortunately as usual, it gets sidetracked by people with an agenda of sticking it to Brock for his decision to leave the club. I said (a few posts above): "Sometimes I have to wonder where these kinds of rumours spring from... and the interesting thing with his one is that it was never refuted... until today when one Brock McLean is running around against West Coast. "
-
Agree 100%... I was saying elsewhere that I hope these boys will be the benchmark that supporters of other clubs will compare their players to. I really don't see the point of making comparisons as it seems to indicate that they are not in a league of their own.

And do you seriously think the powers that be at channel 10 read these and other forums??? Nothing will change unless you all submit your comments directly to them... doing it here achieves absolutely nothing!
-
These Underwood comments are becoming seriously predictable and tiresome. We all know that she is not popular and that her voice annoys people... but do we really have to keep repeating it ad-infinitum!
-
Lol, I don't think we've quite reached those kinds of odds just yet.

I saw that about 1 hour before you, on Demonology - what an amazing coincidence!! Unless you are the same person who posted on 'ology, please give the credit where it's due. Oh and to those expecting a whitewash, I seem to remember we were on a hiding to nothing against the Pies, similar things were being said about our chances angainst the Dogs and the Lions were expected to make a meal of us. If (and yes, it is a very big IF), we can contain Ablett, Chapman and Bartel, then we are well on the way to an upset; and I really don't think that that is beyond us.
-
If we are going to be a contender then we have to be able to win at any ground regardless of dimensions, and in any conditions. Personally, I would rather us playing at the cattery than at the dome where it is surprising far more serious injuries don't occur... it never ceases to amaze me how often we see players taking enormous divots out of the surface with their knees!! I'm looking forward to this game more than any we have played in so far, because it will provide a very good indication of our progress so far this season. As a number of media pundits have already alluded to, the "new" Dees have a very similar game to the Cats, so hopefully it should be a very open, frenetic game... my only concern is that the conditions they had to play in last Saturday night may play a part in their ability to go the distance at such a pace... then again, is it possible that a solid workout like that may have increased their match fitness (provided they stick to a light workload this week)? All will be revealed on Saturday, so bring it on!

Ok, 10 it is then... thanks (and thanks to you too Dr Mubutu)

Does anyone know if it is on the Main Event channel on Foxtel for interstate viewers?
