How you can include Jones in that list is beyond me; he is one of the few who is showing any real commitment at the moment and has been possibly our most consistent performer for the past couple of seasons.

If only it were just the one bad game... unfortunately, over the last season or two, Beamer has gone missing when we have really needed him to stand up. I think you might find that his best performances have been against lesser performing teams.

Very harsh indeed. If we were to consider players on attitude and effort, then I would think half of our current squad would fit that bill. Sure Col may not be the brightest spark to ever walk the earth, but to say that he doesn't contribute and is just there for the money is a pretty poor call. Sure, he isn't always effective and isn't always focused, but I would argue that more often than not he tries and I think he would look a lot better if a few more of his team mates tried to the same degree.

Well, you know what they say about the word "assume", and that is a pretty wrong assumption on your part... Col is not in the photos which, as Mono correctly states, were placed on Facebook over a year ago. And just because some of the boys have dinner together, why this belief that they are a corrupting influence?

This may sound a little defeatist, although I prefer to think of it as being realistic, as we are going to be pushing it uphill to come anywhere near West Coast, Neeld should do what Rohan Connolly is suggesting in today's Age and dump the likes of Brad Green, Aaron Davey, Brent Moloney and Jared Rivers (last year's leaders). I would like to see Bennell come in, but not as a back... I would prefer to see him playing the small crumbing forward role as his pace and good hands are probably what we need. Sellar and Tapscott could move into the back line to replace MacDonald and Rivers and the Gys or Couch could come in for Moloney.

I would say that the four benchmark players would be Jones who is the only player who consistently gives his all - only one deserving of inclusion in the leadership group on Saturday's performance, Magner who is showing a few much more highly regarded players how it should be done, Watts who responded well to the criticism and "demotion", and Trengove.

He has now coached one AFL game.. just how many games had Thompson (and for that matter, Clarkson) coach before they started to taste success to any great degree... why was it they were both on the verge of being sacked? Don't you think it's a tad early to be sinking the boot into Neeld?

More than our team's performance, the thing that I really dislike is having to now put up with all of these ridiculous comments regarding the coach, the assistant coaches, the game plan and how they are all rubbish... after one game!!!

I don't expect you are Robinson Crusoe in that regard.

They're just a pair of shorts for god's sake... what does it really matter? At least he has some pretty impressive skills to offer. Sometimes I wonder where peoples' heads are at when they have to start getting suck into a player's shorts or a player's moustache etc etc.

After some pretty ordinary footy, the Dees finally score with a really nice bit of work from Watts.

The round of applause for Jimmy was a really nice touch... you could feel it gathering momentum so the players shuld take some energy from that... so much better than a minutes silence!
