  1. That only equates to 1 goal 4 points, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  2. Had the following tweet response from @melbournefc: "we thought the logo had been removed. We're working with the AFL to get it removed asap."
  3. They have got it wrong... no doubt about it. The date of the last update according to the "Play Store" is 22nd March. They were promoting it today on twitter and I responded informing them EW is still appearing, so between all of us communicating with them in one way or another, they will be sure to get the message.
  4. Perhaps wattsup has the iPhone version - I have both, and there has definitely been no android update made available, yet there has been an iPhone update that removed the offending logo.
  5. In the past five and a bit decades of following the Dees, my character has been deconstructed and reconstructed so many times I'm starting to feel like a KFC nugget.
  6. Following rounds 1 & 2: "It's only a flesh wound!" And some sound advice to all and sundry on this forum and down at the clubhouse: words and music by Eric Idle Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best... And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing. And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow. Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow. So always look on the bright side of death Just before you draw your terminal breath Life's a piece of [censored] When you look at it Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughing as you go Just remember that the last laugh is on you. And always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the right side of life... (Come on guys, cheer up!) Always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the bright side of life... (Worse things happen at sea, you know.) Always look on the bright side of life... (I mean - what have you got to lose?) (You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!) Always look on the right side of life...
  7. Now I know very little relating to how businesses run, but I would have thought that the fact ASIC sat on this for so long without doing anything, and the fact that major Energy companies who I would imagine stood to lose a lot more than the MFC became involved with Energy Watch, would indicate that no amount of "due dilligence" around a potential sponsor, would have turned up enough for the club to shy away from such a sponsorship arrangement.
  8. I didn't get the wrong impression at all... I thought you probably did like him... I have to say I'm a bit of a fan as well, just as I have been of Jones since he first started with the club and he became everyone's favourite whipping boy... perseverance pays off in many instances, and I have hope that Spencer, like Jones, will do himself and his team proud.
  9. And do you think we wouldn't be laughing if we beat the Cats by 186 point? The fact is that much of this discussion relates to the fact that what was seen in the Cats performance is what many of us would love to see in the Dees... a bit of fight and a never-say-die attitude. It is hardly soft to discuss their superb effort and how we could take a leaf out of their book (your "handbag loving" comment was very odd when you consider how hard they went into each contest)... and many on these forums appreciate good footy, not just the MFC.
  10. As far as I can remember, Spencer was starting to look the goods just before injury took him down again. I know in the Shanghai Showdown game he put in a very good effort (for what it's worth).
  11. Probably not... and I really don't consider it completely resolved until the AFL apologise to Davey for his counselling which was nothing less than an inference of his "guilt".
  12. Mifsud has now apologised to Davey... wonder whether Demitriou will do same for his assumptions (Davey to counselling). http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/132683/default.aspx
  13. Sorry DC, I don't know what I was thinking!
  14. My comment was based on your contributions to this thread which are as follows: 1. 2, 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Where are the quotes you talk of? Apart from #5 all I see is a question/request repeated over and over and criticism of the general quality of posting on this site (mothers club, lack of thought on most posters' part)... quite honestly, I don't see that a lot of thought has gone into those posts of yours either..
  15. Physician heal thyself.
  16. Where did you hear this... if you're going to make such assertions to support your arguments, at least provide something a little more concrete than "I've heard...".
  17. You are kidding right? Jones has come on in leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons and I would not be at all surprised to see him poll well in the Brownlow this year. He is still young and if he continues to improve at the rate he has been, he will be remembered as one of the best midfielders this club has produced... once he is surrounded by a cohesive and well drilled team that want to play as desperately as he does, he will absolutely shine.
  18. haha... maybe we've turned the corner at last OD? ;-)
  19. Looks pretty good to me DrD... although I would be more inclined to use Bennell as the emergency and start Morton in the back line. If Bennell is not to be the emergency, then I would prefer to see him as a crumbing forward than in the backs where he has proven himself to be pretty ineffective. His best games have been arguably played in the forward half (and yes I know (yawn!), many will say he has no best games).
  20. Well, I would think that it's not beyond the realms of possibility... just takes patience and perseverance which hopefully the coaching staff have more of than your average Demonlander, many of whom already have Cook and Fitzpatrick written off and are fast losing the love for Watts.
  21. Well OD, I'm a glass half full kind of a guy... when I see teams like Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton and lately, Richmond, I recall the struggles they were going through and how they have overcome their lowly status to become major players. I see us heading in that direction in the next couple of seasons.
  22. Thanks for those Macca. I used to live just around the corner from Capt Matchbox in 1972 when I was studying at Swinburne and living in Mayston Stree in East Hawthorn (they were living above a shop near Camberwell Station) and always enjoyed going to see them play at places like the Much More Ballroom. Used to see the Sports regularly at the Kingston Hotel in West Richmond and the London Tavern in South Caulfield where they had a weekly residency. I first knew Jim when he was getting around with a girl I shared a house with in South Caulfield and then later after I moved to Sydney, we played together in a few makeshift bands. Great guy and a brilliant musician.
