I'm with you all the way on this one. They are all as different as chalk and cheese.

Good point 'belzebub' You and iI are in full agreeance on his one. They are all as different as chalk and cheese.

On a historical note, our best first year player ever would have to go to Ken Melville in 1953. He won MFC Best and Fairest! In the same team was non other than Ron Barassi. Not a bad effort.

So, reading the reported players, umpire Oliver tripped Jake Williams?

NAME THESE LITTLE KNOWN DEMON PLAYERS
Bobby McKenzie replied to LeBron James's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm going for: Rivers,Bate,Petterd,Valenti Whelan,Newton,Sylvia,Holland Wonna,Maric,Wheatley,Green Whoops, after reading some other later responses, I haven't answered the question to the puzzle have I? -
Jerry, I really can't agree that his handballing is as bad as you say it is. I would love to be sitting next to you during a Melb game and be able to ask 'What was wrong with that one?" A bit difficult though since I'm in Perth. I reiterate that almost all my viewing of the Demons is on TV and I believe this gives one the best view of a game. I guess we can agree to disagree. Cheers.

Don't know, maybe he should ask you since you are an 'expert'.
-
So you are saying that if Bruce features strongly in our best and fairest voting ( and many think he will), then the voters ( All former players who should know a bit about footy) have got it all wrong?
-
This is pure rubbish or my TV is not showing the true picture. Ever since you 'experts' started criticising his handballing months ago I have focussed all my attention on this feature of his play. In my view at least 7 out of 10 handballs find their mark so I can't believe the hype you guys are creating. It would also be good if some of our boys could move and call for the ball and therefore not be stationary targets for the ball carrier.
-
Where did you dig up that UNLIKELY stat? More information please.
-
Strange sense of humour you have. If you are suggesting I'm a clown I say it 'takes one to know one'. Read my comments above to see that I am NOT joking.
-
It was a 'slick' handball that gave your man Matty an easy goal. Watch the game closely on TV and you will be surprised. You miss a lot when you are at the game and, living in Perth I have to rely heavily on TV. My observations therefore are based on the close up shots of all the action.
-
You are obviously missing the creative nature of his game. Slick handballs out of a pack which when fumbled by a slower thinking team mate are then unfairly classified as 'ineffective'. He averages 24 possessions a game which is exactly 24 more than you or I could manage. Watch how he goes in the MFC Best and Fairest, he'll be giving it a shake.

Very negative today. Very harsh on Whelan, Green and Bruce. Bruce had 29 possessions (10 of these contested), 3 tackles and you reckon he wasn't interested. Also your comments on Grimes were a bit severe. He wasn't that poor. Over the season I have respected your views but today you were very critical indeed. Take a well earned break mate!

Disappointing today. I really thought we might have given the Tigers a shake. My best: 6. C. Sylvia 5. C.Bruce 4. A. Yze 3. J. White 2. C.Garland 1. M. Warnock.

Trading Bruce would not be very clever from an economic point of view. He has two years left on his contract. I don't think we have that sort of money to throw around.
-
I'm going for A. B is much too like the Carlton monogram. At least A looks a bit frightening.
-
Bailey has just today announced quite clearly that he won't be trading ANY senior player. He wants to go for youth and keep his draft picks. Good on him! My thoughts exactly. You must have a good blending of experience with youthful enthusiasm. Guess his stance today puts to bed any further discussion on possible trading. YM will be disappointed.

Interesting! Does Bohdan know about this role change? How reliable are your sources of information? Nothing on MFC website to this time.
-
Yeah, thanks mate! Maths was never my forte. You are a smart cookie for picking that up. Edited.
-
I've seen a few but on 3.2.1 system mine are: 3. Ronald Barassi. He was the greatest of them all! Never beaten. Could compete in the air against the big guys and on the ground with the smaller ones. 2. Robert Flower. Class all class. 1. Don Williams. The most attacking half back flanker you could imagine. A brilliant mark and a real dasher.
-
Welcome back YM! Are you feeling OK? You ALMOST wrote something positive about Cam Bruce. I did find myself agreeing with most of your comments too! Maybe I am unwell too.
-
I too think that young Maric will be a superstar. He has a great football brain and is quick. I also believe Martin is a talent that will shine in 2009. Cale Morton too was excellent today. Can't wait for the new season!
-
The umps certainly tried to help the Weagles. 26 to 8! Is this a record? Maybe we were trying to lose by giving away so many frees. I don't think so.

My votes were: 6. Cale Morton 5. Cam Bruce 4. Paul Wheatley 3. Brad Green 2. James McDonald 1. Simon Buckley
