  1. Barassi was a magnificent player BUT he wasn't in his early games. Played as a forward but flew for the ball too early and was dropped back to the twos at least twice. Melbourne tried an experiment here by playing him as a ruck rover( new concept). He was brilliant in this new role and promoted back to the firsts. History tells us the rest. True champion.
  2. Stuart Spencer is my choice. I can still see those long raking drop kicks with his left boot. A real champion. Coming over to Perth I remember Perth full back John Quartermaine, His drop kicking was also a delight. My namesake had a brilliant stab pass hitting team mates right on the chest.
  3. He certainly was not! I retract my earlier reply. Came to us from Portland. Sorry to doubt you demonstone.
  4. So Brad Green didn't measure up to the lofty standards of DeeSpencer? Many would strongly disagree with you here. I suppose Cameron Bruce was also soft in your opinion? Guess you didn't see first year players Green and Bruce in the famous comeback win in a FINAL. Flat track performers here too? They won the game for us.
  5. Couldn't disagree more. You obviously don't like Mitch. Must have missed watching his last two games of the season. A big reason why we beat GWS and Brownlow votes v Essendon. Oh well everyone to their own thoughts and beliefs. You are in a big minority though.
  6. Langdon not a speedster? How fast do you want him to be? Moves like Jayden Hunt across the ground. He's quick mate have no doubt.
  7. Mitch Brown shows versatility and moves well for a big man. Deserves at least one more season with his marking and kicking skills alone. A couple of Essendon mates were not happy when he was delisted at Essendon. Lets not make the same mistake. Showed that he can play as a defender as well.
  8. Good suggestions Demon3. I do disagree re Trac and Dusty though. Dusty occasionally has quiet days whereas Trac has been remarkably consistent this season. Dusty is a big occasion player and what a player he is then. Getting a quality goal kicker would be exciting.
  9. Could it be that Harleys calf problem was always on his mind while playing and as a result we didn't see him stretch out and show his real speed and skills. Playing 'with the brakes on' was not conducive to being the player we hoped he would be. Reason for his non selection in the last half of the season? Just a theory anyway.
  10. OF course I meant COULDN'T agree more.
  11. Well spoken robbie. Could agree more. Cheers .
  12. Casey in his first year when he was just a skinny schoolboy. What about the other years?
  13. LOL What a statement. Have your opinion for what its worth. You wouldn't have many agreeing with you.
  14. Dr D. Your maths are sub standard. So 75% of Demonland is HALF. Oh well, we can't all be Maths teachers.
  15. Thanks for the memories Jack. I was one of a vast majority that didn't want you to go. What a class footballer and bloke you were. Your kicking skills, oh so sublime. How can I forget a bullet like pass over 55 metres to Dom Tyson for a match winning goal? Your gut run to score that QB goal against Collingwood of course will remain a highlight from all of your thousands of fans. Perfect revenge for their rough stuff in his first game. 'Pick on a skinny kid Collingwood.' You were the ultimate team man. Who was the first to run in and congratulate a goal or great tackle etc? Your enthusiasm after a Demon goal was so uplifting. Enjoy your retirement Jack and please let us see you in Melbourne colours at the G next year.
  16. You are a real leopard Dr. D. You never change your spots regarding JW. Always a biased hater Jack So sad.
  17. How many games did Jack play for Casey? Count them on one hand.
  18. AS long as Weagles don't win it. Those who live in Perth will know what I mean. Pampered and spoiled football club.
  19. Why isn't Oliver good enough? He is in a class all on his own. Guts, Skills what more does he need? He is a brilliant footballer.
  20. I remember another team who wore yellow and black known as the ninth place specialists. Look at them now and the last few seasons.
  21. Definitely another year. Should have played many more games in the place of Tom McD. I like a player with courage and smarts. Keep.
  22. Well, as expected its all over but lets look at the positives, 1. We rose from 17th to 9th; Quite a rise and a big percentage improvement . 2, We beat old rivals, Carlton, Collingwood , Essendon and Hawthorn all in one season. WHEN DID WE LAST ACHIEVE SUCH A FEAT? Long, long time ago me thinks. We also nearly took the honours against Geelong with a missed gettable goal after the siren and had a real chance to beat Brisbane losing by 4 points. We took care of St Kilda and North Melbourne, teams that have had the wood on us for many years. Finishing higher than Sydney and GWS too must be noted as positives. 3. Our two early draft picks showed that they will be stars of the future and Ed Langdon was a wonderful addition to our list. Young Rivers too gives hope for the future. Individually, we had positives with the potential AA selection of Petracca, Stephen May and Max Gawn. We are nowhere near perfect yet but heading in the right direction. Go DEMONS 2021 and beyond.
  23. Nice to have a sane, clear thinking poster. Too many, who winning an important game does not satisfy. They want perfection which sadly does not exist in the rigours of AFL football. Well spoken layzie.
  24. Maybe we could loan Ed Langdon to the Dockers for the day. He is so fit I'm sure he could still run all day. We want him back though!! What a wonderful recruit he has been all season.
  25. Add Aaron vandenBerg to your list.
