  1. Maybe Gunston knew it was Jack moving in on him and he couldn't get his shot f or goal quick enough. Lucky he was wearing brown shorts.
  2. Agree 100 %. We bobbys must stick together.
  3. Maxy's fantastic mark in defence at the end. I was a bit worried for his wrist upon his landing though. Hibberd's chase preventing a Hawk goal. If his hamstrings have been a problem they are not now. Oliver's chase to earn a holding the ball decision. Viney's weaving and brute strength to twist andwork his way through a congested pack to deliver a great pass to Brayshaw. What a game from this relentless competitor. Brayshaw's fantastic mark in a pack. Pure courage personified. Melksham's absolutely effortless left foot snap from over 50 metres to allow us some breathing space. He does this often, He is a very powerful kick. Spargo's football brain and clever, creative play. He is so cool. Watching all those pre bounce smiles from the arrogant Hawks players disappear as the game progressed. You could almost hear them saying 'This mob is a pushover'. It must be great for Viney and Vandenberg to get real reward from all the rehab they did for most of the season. Those two and Jonesy must be feeling so proud at the moment. May they become even prouder still.
  4. Viney would have collected at least 5 more votes if the last two matches counted. What a gun he is!
  5. I would love this. In finals over the years we have won 19 out of 20 times against Collingwood.
  6. What a truly gutsy win! One incident that typified our efforts was the incredible sprint by Hibberd to prevent the Hawks player having a certain goal by diving and smothering the ball/. I stood up and applauded loudly in my lounge room! Don't think he would have heard me though since I live in Perth. A couple of friends who follow the Weagles said to me before the game that they would sooner play Hawthorn in the prel final .Sorry guys ,you have got us.

Me too , Sorry Sam I really didn't think you were going to make it. How wrong was I ? A truly brilliant game.
  8. Cannot split Maxy and Clarrie. Nev and Angus also great. Isn't wonderful that we now have so many name players? Very pleased Harmes has shown his real capabilty too. Love them all.

Does anyone think Barlow at 30 years would be a inexpensive replacement for the great Berniie Vince? Never be as good as Bernie but could be useful as a depth player. Says he would jump at the opportunity to continue his illustrious career. Knows how to get the ball.
  10. Never be disappointed when you wake up MO FINE, If you are my age to wake up is great.

BIG BIG Gun! What a season from Maxy. Last year not too bad as well. Love his attitude and ability.
  12. A few weeks back it was mooted in the press that 13 wins may not have been enough to make the final eight. Strange, that even if we had not recorded that magnificent win against the Eagles and lost in the last round against GWS ( Won't happen of course) we would have still made the finals with just 12 wins. Possible 5 teams on 12 wins. Go Dees.
  13. Kent certainly has great pace, What about that run and tackle in the dying minutes resulting in a turnover with three demons hovering before Maxy sent the ball up to the goal square. It would be good if Kent could develop his game like Harmes has. Fritze also delivered a beautiful kick to Hannan setting up the unguaded Melksham in the goal square. Fritz is a beautiful mover, very polished indeed.

1, Maxy's kick off the ground in the last quarter was huge. It covered a remakable distance. I guess he used his long leverage very well on this occasion.. 2. Petracca's brilliant pass to Melksham to seal the game. Reminded me of the Jack Watts pass to Dom Tyson in the Queens Birthday match last season. Can we safely add Christian's name to our elite kicks in the team?
  15. Mods, close this ridiculous post. People haved raved on ad nauseum. Joeboy, you seem to have very few agreeing with you.
  16. Joeboy, you are a real party pooper. Are you serious or are you just being a KINGSIZE STIRRER?
  17. 6. Gawn( Such precise hit outs to advantage on so many occasions) 5. Harmes 4.Melksham 3.Jones ( So pleased for him at the end. What a warrior) 2. Oliver 1. Brayshaw
  18. How could an Eagles supporter complain about umpiring? 18-14 their way today. Over the last 15 years they have received 919 free kicks with the nearest team North Melb on 472. Sydney are the umps less favourite with MINUS 516 frees for. A difference of 1435. The Demons sit in the middle on MINUS 164.
  19. I love music, but I never realised what a beautiful sound the siren makes at the end of a footy game, particularly this one. So proud of the guts and commitment shown today. No tears but a very big lump in the throat. Can't mix it with the big boys eh? I live in Perth so extra thrill for me to beat the weagles on their own dunghill.Twice in a row. Better watch my car with MFC plates at the shops tomorrow, last year someone decided to slash one of my tyres.
  20. Your'e right here. Norf could be a dark horse and if they beat Adelaide and St Kilda could push us out of the eight. Still a lot of ifs and buts!
  21. Until today, I have NEVER barracked for Collingwood. They have been the enemy ever since they pinched the 1958 flag from us and earlier. Why today? I figured that if Port won today and then won against Essendon next week they would have 14 wins the same as Geelong who are absolute certs to win next week. Even if we managed one win out of two this would not be enough with us only 13 wins. A Port win today would have meant that we would have to win both games to make the finals, a difficult if not impossible task. I still cling to the hope that Essendon will beat Port seeing us into the finals safely. They did push Richmond to the limit last night. One can only hope and dream.
  22. Taught Bohdan at Noble Park High many moons back. Great kid and athlete. Caught up with him a few years ago and he is a fine person. Well done for spelling his surname right deanox. Took me quite a while to get it right at school. Maybe as his PE teacher it's MY fault the Demons get so many injuries.
  23. I hope the players don't have your defeatist attitude mate. Also quite a few more posters are throwing in the towel very early. I stated earlier in the week that finals started for us today with a triple chance. That has been reduced to a double chance now but we still have our own destiny in our hands. These are teams that we have to beat if we are going to give the finals a shake.
  24. Even if we lose both we still have a glimmer of hope. Essendon lose to Richmond and beat Port.( Finish on 48 points but much inferior % to us.) {Port have just lost Dixon for season.) Port also lose to Collingwood. Finish on 48 points with lower % than us. Never thought I would ever be hoping for an Essendon win. Port v Essendon in last round could decide our fate. BUT why can't we win just ONE more game with Melsham and Hibberd hopefully both available? I'm not writing you off yet Demons.

He was certainly looking at the right vision Doc. Gaff was looking directly at Brayshaw and bang went his fist into his face. He then looked behind him and ran off. Quite cowardly.
