2022 AFL NATIONAL ROOKIE DRAFT
Welcome Ron Burgundy

Welcome to Demonland Jed Adams
Interesting article. I wondered how we got a photo of him in the red and blue so quickly, it appears we gave him the wink and nod on Saturday. Clearly targeted by JT.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
First welcome to Matthew. Did I misunderstand JT in the video? He seemed to suggest if we had traded up it would have been to get Jefferson. If so they must really rate him highly.

Phantom Drafts Thread 2022
I am wondering if our desire to trade up is to get someone like Gilbey and we just have to have the ace of spades; Lemmey!

Dees considering big trade plays
A delphi would not be able to read much into that... I will have a stab. We may think there is a forward going to be available below 13. There is someone in the top 6 we want and I have no idea who but Ginbey stikes me a Jason Taylor type. We could be doing a deal around the top and I'd say around 19 as well.

Dees Target Pick 19
Father son pick?

Dees Target Pick 19
Smart planning. Better to have an option in place. As for giving up 2023 picks we need to remember they are effectively 3 years away from being contributors.

Michael Hibberd & Jake Melksham - 1 Year Extensions
I don't follow the rules on this but always amused when seasoned players get rookied. Hibbo never gives in and I have always liked that, Melk is just mercurial. Both still have a place at the club.

Which Demon is the most likely to have a breakout year in 2023?
Whoever goes to trac and asks what he did to go from the joker in the pack to the ace of spades. I think we let our standards drop last year a bit. Honestly i think it could be a Schacke (whihc would be nice) but most likely is JVR.

Jumper numbers for season 2023?
FWIW I think Grundy should take 37 if Chandler is changing numbers, its a ruck number of choice after 11. Out of interest does anyone know how they go about deciding the allocation of numbers? Is it partly player driven?

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Wild idea, maybe he flourishes at the dees and we get behind him to do so!

Farewell Sam Weideman
Good luck Weeds.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Ok, silly bugger....but i actually think there is something to this. Seems to me rucks expend a lot of energy just getting to contests. If you have specialist back and forward rucks handing off the opposition ruck there is a physical advantage. This year Max looked tired at times and Jacksons positioning was not great. Whilst I think Jackson is very athletic his weakness is his contest work. Max in 2021 looked very effective down back and Grundy has always looked a mobile ruck a la Jackson (but with much better ruck skills) and has been dangerous in the front half. With both on the field pressing up for kick ins May might look right!

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Isnt it moneyball? the coaches have tried to get Weed over the line and feel they have had a good shot. Worth trying with someone else who currently is about the same but may improve under their coaching. Might be good for both players.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Its fitting way to finish a thread which was much ado about nothing.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yep

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I am afraid Kade Chandler has to give up 37!

Sorry to be dim but does "Source :Mint" mean you have a great source on this (some big deal)?

Farewell Sam Weideman
Trade week for us supporters is a bit like my garage, full of things I don't use and if anyone offers me anything for something in there I say "tell em their dreaming". I like Weeds and have always thought he will come good, the dilemma at the moment is he is stuck in the garage.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Even if they are not interested I dont see why WC dont try to do Freos head in a bit, surely if NicNak rang Dogga and said how abut a coffee in some suitably public place that might melt down the media and Bell.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
Isn't Freo's problem they are trying to do a host of other trades without any picks. My impression is they are a kid in the candy store with only a penny to spend.
-
Farewell Toby Bedford
My wild theory only, Bedford got an earworm from someone about being the bridesmaid at Melbourne whilst we had plans for him this year. We were caught on the hop and really really dont want him to go. Only two ways to explain the language being used between us and GWS who we normally just get on with and resolve trades. The alternative is we genuinely think he is worth a lot more than 43. If he fell into the PSD there would be quite a few interested parties and I doubt he would want to take pot luck. As I said a wild theory.

Tim Lamb on Trade Radio
No basis for this but do you reckon Lamb is going to play hard in a last ditch effort to keep Bedford?
