Was mentioned in one of the Fox segments that he might be a worth a late second rounder to a club looking for a key defender. Would be taking that and running at full pelt.

Perhaps it is semantics but excess travel and short prep time can cause fatigue. They are bundled together. The difference between the last two games and the Saints game was stark. The only other game they have truly been reminiscent of was the Port game. The consistent thread being the short turnaround. It’s not an excuse. We are also an average side with an inflexible and often times predictable game style, a poor bottom 6 players, a void in onfield leadership etc. But these additional variables undoubtedly hurt, and they hurt an underperforming club like ours more than they would others.

Props to whoever can be bothered giving this a moment’s thought.

Yes. Wasted effort Honestly I would love it if getting Luke Hodge was some kind of panacea. Robbo himself conceded that a number of great football people from successful cultures have come through the club. What tangibles is Hodge going to bring that others haven’t? I understand we are at desperate ends but I’d rather focus attention on more practical means of achieving consistency.

Practical things. Not pie in the sky things. Continued list improvement. I’ve mentioned in other threads that a new forwards coach wouldn’t hurt. Fixing up our deplorable stoppage work which should not be as poor as it is at present. There are far better footballing brains than mine on here to ask that question. I just know that Hodgey ain’t the answer.

Despite the club’s failings, it’s pretty bloody nice to have a team with three genuine stars of the comp. Of those three (Gawn, Clarry and Trac for those playing at home), this is the guy that has the most superstar potential. Another couple of years of this level and we will have a Dusty /Danger/Fyfe level player in our midst. Been a long time between drinks since we’ve had that. Congrats to the big guy.
