Not sure he's behind Greene. Admittedly had second year blues but he was a sensation in his first year. Expecting him to bounce back strongly next season as he learns to deal with the attention from opposition. Agree with the rest.

It's true that Vince and Cross remain important acquisitions in terms of becoming competitive next year. If we get neither, it will take a fair bit of the gloss off the trade period overall.

He has to write about something, and he wasn't wrong about the Buntine/Bugg trade imo. Nor was he wrong that missing out on Dew and losing Sylvia could be perceived as a momentum staller. Sure he jumped the gun early, but that's Robbo. He doesn't viciously hate the MFC like Wilson. He was all in favour of the club receiving a PP for a start. I'm sure now the Tyson trade has happened he'll be saying well done, now keep it up.

Hopefully that trend continues.

Entitled to your opinion, but have you watched Tyson play? Have you watched his highlights? He's hard as nails and has the silk to match. If he can stay on the park, the kid is going to be a jet.

I think Pickles could still potentially be in the first team. He made some solid strides forward last season. Also looks to have added some size to his frame since last time I saw him. It might sound strange Given M Jones' finish in the B&F and admirable and immediate contribution, but I think from 2015 onward he would be on borrowed time. Maybe as depth. He's no youngster, so we're pretty much seeing the best of him right now.

Iron Dom Tyson. Loving this. Definitely a lot better than that Buntine/Bugg fiasco. Him and Viv look to be clearance machines. Hopefully the compensation allows a crack at Vince but whatever the case, we get another top 10 pick. Things are looking up!

Granted, you generally don't get a Rising Star nod if you can't play. But even at junior level when Bugg was played in the midfield he didn't see a lot of it. I have nightmares of match stat sheets that list Jones and then 13 opposition players. We need guys who can find the damn football. Now. Your judgement is valued Steve, but I would hope we can do a bit better. I want genuine midfielders.

Just to emphasise again, the two players in question aren't solid mids. They are defenders that GWS consider to be excess. Neither are ball winners. Even if there isn't a massive difference between 2 and 9, you'd want your spare change to address what has become an emergency need in the side, surely.

That's great in theory, but Buntine and Bugg just aren't much to write home about. Not every GWS player is automatically quality just because they went high in the draft. And they aren't even addressing our dire need. The more I think about this trade, the less sense it appears to make.

Agreed. I wouldn't go so far as ridiculous but it's definitely underwhelming, I can't understand why we'd use it on two defenders who have fallen off the Giants' radar.
