As if the club would be deciding the round 1 lineup now.. what a load of rubbish.
-
Bad call Garry.
-
Im not too worried, he was injured for year 1 so he's only had 1 season. He was drafted very young as well, and has a slight build so Ive got no problem even if the club give him another 12 months at Casey.
-
This has the potential to end very badly. Ive already written to the Casey management and told them Im boycotting Casey games this season because of the disregard for Melbournes preferences.

The List Manager looks at the Melbourne list

Agree with his comments on settling Morton down for a while - although as he gets older he will always be a bit of a utility type. Also agreed with leaving Grimes across half back, and rotating perhaps Davey and Green back there for the sake of having some good disposal out of defense. Fair wrap up for mine, although his comments on Scully make me nervous.. -
Great post - I agree 100%. I would also add that the players should have known far better - some young girls are simply not ready to enter in to sex/relationships with older men and this is proof enough of that. She was 16 at the time and I dont believe Gilbert or any of the others didnt know that. I only really worry for her future and mental health from here - this could easily end up a whole lot worse than where we are at right now..

Id happily offer #7 to Bennell. Needs another year or 2 before he consolidates himself fully, but he tears it up on the track apparantly. Great sign of confidence if they give him 7!
-
Brad Harvey (who is training with us) is probably the best remaining young player imo. Josh Walker, Jamie Solly, Callum Sinclair and Jonathan Giles are the other ones that interest me the most.
-
Exactly. Jonathan Giles and Jamie Solly are still available too. Brad Harvey is one of the best players who didnt get drafted so I hope we snare him plus 1 or 2 of the above named.
-
Awsome report there mate - great to hear something meaningful here overseas. I find the club tends to release some pretty bland assessments of this type. Thanks alot!
-
Would happily offer he and/or Jonathan Giles a rookie spot given we have quite a few to play with. I suspect we may rookie Paul Johson if we dont go for either of these guys.
-
Thanks alot ChaserJ and you other blokes. Im in London and Ive seen Cook and Howe as well but not the others so thanks alot!

Looks like we are going to get a slider with pick 12. If we have to choose between Heppell and Gorringe I would struggle - but geez Heppell would be gold.
-
Based mine on if I was picking a teamfor the next 10 years - gets pretty tough based on potential and Ive been a bit tough on guys like Pettered and Garlans, but note Im a subscriber to the theory that midfields win flags.. Watts Scully Grimes Frawley Trengove Jurrah Morton Gysberts McKenzie Blease Pettered Bennell Strauss Garland Tapscott Wonaeamirri Gawn Fitzpatrick Jetta Spencer Bail Maric McNamara
-
Presuming a slider is not available.. 12 - Jack Darling / Billie Smedts / Kieran Harper 32 - Lucas Cook / Luke Mitchell / Best available 49 - Jonathan Giles 52 - ??

Great OP redman. Its really all going to come down to how highly Prendergast rates the key forwards left for pick 12 compared to the mids. Its obvious if there were 2 players of the exact same ability we would take the KPF, but thats not likely to be the case. Im leaning towards Darling at this point - not because hes a KPF, but because he's got presence and X factor - and I think he will be the best player available at our pick. Darling is a bit more of a gamble than a couple of the mids, but he has the potential to be alot better as well imo. He still played very well at this years champs despite some earlier injury setbacks - and go watch a vid on his 2009 efforts. Get him into an AFL system and he could end up the bargain of this draft.
-
Lets hope they hurry up with it..
-
Haha - this is a bit embarrassing for him imo. What a nob. I more surprised that an editor appoved it for publication than anything!
-
In > Out Sylvia > Dunn (Sylia the automatic selection, Dunn is effectively a senior player in this squad and needs to be held accountable this year) Martin > Spencer (Martin surely has more potential, upside and flexibility than Spencer who isnt ready for senior AFL at best) Garland > Miller (We are setting up around Miller which is completely wrong - lets see what Bate, Pettered and Garland have with Miller out of the way for a few weeks)
-
Terrible news on the hamstring. Not his first and you would expect they werer being over-cautious making sure it was ready to go again..
-
He looks very good actually. But the Dees have been pretty big on character when selecting recent picks. Im not sure we'de take the risk. Cant see this guy going at pick 11, and I think Carlisle or Vardy with 18. If he's around at 34 Im sure we'de go for it but doesnt look like he'll make it that far.
-
He has shown more when playing at CHB imo - so Im hoping we take Black at 11 and Carlisle at 18. I have a feeling he wont make it to 18 though.
-
I havnt seen him live but his video looks like he works hard running up the ground and defensively, has good skills for his height, uses both sides of his body, makes good decisions, is strong in the marking contest and best of all he makes a legitimate impact on the game. Ive heard a bit about him from a friend in Perth. My friend has some good contacts in the industry and beleives that Melbourne are seriously interested in this guy. The Eagles even considered him with pick 7 but he told me they are now very likely to take Lewis Jetta. Butcher, Talia and Carlisle will be in consideration but Im starting to think this is the guy we will take with pick 11 and hope that either Vardy or Carlisle is available for pick 18.
