  1. Green has been disappointing, but when he's forward he still leads better than virtually anyone else. He would have had a bunch of 'gettable' set shots if the delivery to him was any good. (I noticed Robbo was at the game, and I'm sure he could empathise with that problem). PS. Pretty harsh thread title.
  2. This is a strawman. (If you disagree, show me where the Club suggests Moloney is outside of expectations simply for having a drink). I for one think there's a difference between 'just having a drink' and being out at a bar, 'intoxicated', at 2:30-3:30AM a few hours before a recovery session.
  3. What is he supposed to say? 'Yeah, nah, we're taking it one week at a time and all the boys are really confident of...wait, who am I kidding; both you and your readers know that we can't win'.
  4. A brief summary of a brief video: Schwab: Moloney was out late last night and was intoxicated; that is unacceptable and we're very disappointed. We have high expectations of our leaders and expect them to model the behaviours we're looking for with this young group. We don't know the full facts yet but we will deal with what we need to; we will not be sweeping anything under the carpet. Regardless of what else has happened, his behaviour was already outside the expectations we're looking for. I hopethat anger will be directed at Moloney for letting the Club down.
  5. Unless there was more than one incident of the same type, I'm pretty sure it was Sylvia. If we 'really need him against the GC' we're far worse than I think we are. There are reasons why you might cut someone some slack. Urinating on a bar isn't one of those, so I wouldn't be 'cutting some slack' if that was true. I'm pretty sure every post in this thread suggesting some sort of penalty has explicitly or implicitly made the caveat 'if true'.
  6. Hi, have you watched any Casey games lately? I ask because I haven't seen the games myself and the reports on Strauss that I've read haven't been glowing, but maybe you've had a different view.
  7. If only Moloney had opened this thread instead of just reading the subject line.
  8. On a related note, the quality of some of the highlights was pretty poor. Looked like someone had taped the highlights to poor quality VCR tape.
  9. I can't wait until the next time you start a thread to quote a tweet that you later suggest is wrong.

    Rohan Bail

We could certainly have a worse tagger. I don't think Bail will ever be a champion, but I quite like him.
  11. What H_T said. I like the Gys - he seems unruffled.
  12. I thought he was pretty good today, but agree re: the first quarter (at one stage Riv looked both too small and too slow for big Leuenberger, which was worrying).
  13. I think there are only two reasons to drop Watts at the moment. One is to give him some confidence, and the other is to punish him (euphemistically, to 'teach him a lesson'). Given we're playing Gold Coast next week, I'd say that rules out the former. Tallies of 3, 5 and 8 goals* isn't knocking on the door? You might argue against playing Newton, but to suggest he isn't 'knocking on the door [...] like Gysberts and Wonaeamirri did' seems obviously wrong (unless you're suggesting Newton is knocking harder than they did). *In addition to being named by the Coach as Casey's best player last week, giving off goals, etc
  14. It wasn't from the top to DB, it was to the top from DB. It's been mentioned in the press - and elsewhere - multiple times that DB told the Club it was time to start putting footy matters front and centre.
  15. I know what you mean, but on the other side of the coin is that fact that it may give him a somewhat easier entry into AFL level, allowing him to gain some confidence.
  16. Absolutely. Let's say we lose the game versus the Lions; let's even assume we have a big loss. We then go on to make finals and snag a finals victory, but DB is still going to lose his job because of a round three result? That DB will see out the season, but that his cards will be stamped if we lose this game, is such a ridiculous assertion.
  17. He was presenting his case for selection last year (and would have played had he not been injured the game before he was to be prompted).
  18. I mean that after every involvement he looked knackered. He'd run 20 metres and then stand around catching his breath. It was pretty surprising.
  19. I agree. I'll take a win, and I'll be happy if we play well (regardless of how much we win by).
  20. If what I saw during the match was any indication, I'm pretty sure Jetta was unable to do any extra running after the game
  21. I'm well aware of that. Is it standard practice to make the most inflexible - in terms of positions that player can fill - your emergency? No, certainly not. However, we've chosen a KPB to act as our emergency. :D
  22. ...and the money wouldn't be coming back, plus interest, to us within a couple of years, so it's entirely different.
