  2. Fair enough - I can't remember seeing him on there PS. Get my reply?
  3. So did I. However, I thought Garland has been better. Do you agree? If we want to keep our structure, we'd need to drop one of Frawley, Warnock, or Martin.
  4. Upon reading the changes I wasn't exactly inspired. However, we've made like-for-like changes, so in essence this... Garland > Frawley - fair enough, although I'm disappointed Frawley's missing White > Meesen (PJ out inj.) - again, fair enough Dunn > Valenti - again, fair enough, perhaps could have been Bartram out, but Valenti's pace may have been a concern Yze > Maric - not sure about this one, particularly as Wonna has retained his spot, but perhaps it is due to VCE

Wasn't it reported in one of the Melb dailies first? Someone said Sheahan mentioned it.
  6. From a Stynes press conference when PM was dumped - "Stynes emphasised that PG and the previous board made the appointment, and Stynes said that he wasn't really part of the process, which disappointed him. Reported that the extent of his involvement was shortlisting candidates and having an informal interview with three applicants (incl. PM and Fox). PG then took over the process, and Stynes was unhappy that he wasn't involved with the latter stages. As such, Stynes said he couldn't comment on which of the candidates was the best choice." How do you know that?
  7. I think Petterd's a good chance. Did Yze miss for Sandy because he was the 'first' emergency, or did he have an injury/illness concern? Frawley doesn't deserve to be dropped IMO. I'd definitely want to bring Garland in, though.
  8. At $0.20 p/call you'd only need one $20 donation p/100 calls to break even, and I'd be disappointed if... a) the Club were spending that much on calls B) the calls didn't prompt more donations
  9. Yep. The article's here: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/tabid/7415/D...px?newsid=65917
  10. Yep. If other Clubs picked up 'gems' afterwards, remember that they'd already passed over the player a few times too.
  11. If I find one I'll post it up/PM you, but I'm not inclined to go hunting atm. I'm not in terror over the issue, but we both want DB and the other footy department staff to be able to get on with the job. For sure.
  12. My favourite player is probably Schwarz. He certainly could turn it on. I remember Farmer handballing to Lyon in the goal square when Farmer could have had a set shot from in front - good times. A wiki devotee reverted your change!
  13. I'd like to see that. ...or maybe I wouldn't

Then I'm not sure why, after quoting my post, you suggested that we should send him off to anyone willing to offer us anything..? I'm certainly not advocating that.
  17. Bad posts cost Demonland just as much

To imply that I'd take 'anything' for Green is incorrect. While I normally agree with you, I think this is another of your posts in this thread that's way off the mark If it wasn't clear, I agree with bb's assertion that some Clubs may value Green more than you suggest, because they feel they're relatively close to a flag tilt. Due to the draft, you need to make hay while the sun shines. Thus, teams may want to pay slightly 'over the mark' for Green because they feel he can help their chance at a flag, which they need to take before their opportunity disappears, as is the cyclical nature of footy.

Indeed - you need to make hay while the sun shines in this competition.
  20. It sounds like he's already contacted the Club, and hasn't managed to get anywhere. That said, the Club seemed receptive to 45hotgood's Birthday Celebrations - perhaps he could point Choko in the right direction with regards who to speak to.
  21. Thanks for the info on the Football Strategy Review Group. Fwiw, I recall hearing some players sounding genuinely excited to hear Stynes around. I've also read the new Board say they won't be interfering with what DB and CC are doing. That said, I guess both could be taken with a grain of salt. Your concerns could be on the mark, but I think you might be reading too much into Members Update and Stynes changeroom appearance. It doesn't seem uncommon for Presidents to pop up in the changerooms post-match - from memory, I think I've seen Smorgan or another Pres taken into the huddle when singing the song. On the previouis administration, although the previous Football Strategy Review Group may not have made any calls when it came to football, their appointee was trying to nab us a marquee player, something DB's asserted was not what he wanted... NB: I do think that it's important not to get blinded by Stynes the Brownlow Star when it comes to the new Board, which is a theme of your posts.
