  1. If the new coach has made an impact we will play an improved brand of footy in the coming 2 games. Let's save judgement of Craig until then. Last week would have probably happened if neeld was still coach.
  2. Sorry but someone has to say this. We have played 2 teams under Craig who are 16th and 15th on the ladder Our improved performance has nothing to do with the coaching change, it's only because we were playing other crap teams on our home ground where those teams are known to struggle. Everyone just calm down. Now if we play well on Sunday then I'll jump on the Craig bus like the rest of you.
  3. Apologies, the point I was trying to make was that there is no point having 3 gun forwards without having a midfield to kick it to them. Regarding Blease, I understand your point on his lack of a defensive game. A problem with picking players who can all defend well might mean we lack players who can attack well. I would prefer a balance, try to get Blease to defend but show some leniency in this area when picking the team for him, as his attack and flair is something this team needs.
  4. Neeld has in made a couple of grave errors which will cost him his job: Spending big (cash and draft picks) on key forwards instead of midfielders. Should never have bought Dawes, should have bought a decent mid. It is bad luck Clarke can't get on the ground, but if Dawes, Clarke and Hogan are all fit then that's one big forward line with no to kick it to them. Bad thinking. Think we needed Wines or trade pick 3 for another mid. Saying we are 5 years from being competitive then refusing to play the 'future' particulary Blease and Strauss. It's bad enough to say we are rebuilding the rebuild, but if you do that then at least play the kids. Why play Byrnes at all?
  5. They don't get shepherding. The coach needs the team to understand the concept of shepherding. I am talking about when Jordie went on that run just then. They don't play as a team. So poor Neeld.
  6. You know his biggest mistake was forking out the $$$ on Clarke and Dawes when he should have bought 2 quality midfielders. He seems obsessed with big forwards. Yes I know they are good players but we got no engine. A shiny car with no engine (ok a dented up piece of junk with a nice badge and no engine maybe).
  7. Sack Neeld. It might not really be his fault, but it might be, but who knows, who cares at least it's something.
  8. Sadly I get the same problem when attempting to view it DD's way.
  9. Hmm I can't jump to the last quarter even with the working link. As soon as I try to move down the timeline or change image quality it tells me I am outside Australia and blocks me! Is anyone able to post a link to the 4th quarter?
  10. Anyone know what's happened to Blease? Named in the 2s?
  11. In any organisation the CEO is ultimately responsible for the results, however the CEO employs a bunch of experts to do stuff to get those results (subject matter experts or SMEs). Neeld has the role of number one SME here. Thus it is his job to deliver said results including developing a winning game plan and ensuring players are able to implement said game plan. If there is a problem with culture, meddling CEOs, poor support, over complicated or incorrect strategy; or crappy/unmotivated/unhappy players it is his job to fix it. So regardless of anything, Sunday's performance is on his shoulders entirely and those looking to blame CEOs and boards are clutching at straws I'm afraid. Unless the CEO is too involved in which case he has to go. But how are we poor fans to know what really happens? If Schawb is so involved he affects player performance then we may be the worst run organisation in the world.
  12. Watched video of Ross Lyon coaching once. His mantra seemed to be pressure and do the basics right. I worry Neeld is too into technical jiggery to be a decent coach. The game is too spontaneous for complicated systems.
  13. I know you are right but I reckon that whole private school blazer wearing toff rubbish makes us look like twats and its embarrassing enough if we are even half good but we just look like farling carts losing by 80 points to port but still persisting with our rich boy mascot. Makes me cringe. Not as much as the score today though obviously.
  14. We have been shite ever since that ponce turned up on the scene. Who's with me?
  15. and then this: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/would-you-want-your-son-playing-afl-footy-20130206-2dywt.html She just can't help sticking into us wherever she can. Her article on the Bummers taking drugs swiftly changes to "oh and don't forget the Dees tanked". Quite offensive that she equates playing a promising forward in the back pocket for a half season to injecting banned substances (oh the poor parents of that player out of their usual position- my heart bleeds etc etc.) Great work Caro only you could make that link.
  16. Re-sign! FFS nearly gave me a heart attack.
  17. Don't worry, got it my self: Barry was zoned to GWS under concession rules that gave the fledging expansion club access to players from the Northern Territory who would be draft eligible by the time of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 drafts.
