  1. the members of Demonland on Friday morning:
  2. Demi Moore was pretty hot back then, even with that shouse haircut
  3. every good coach I ever had did not understand this term. It was as much force as you could apply or go to the bench.
  4. to label it a 'masterstroke' is a bit rich though. For mine Bailey made him the sub because he was the 22nd best player in the available squad, simple as that. It's also very early to be claiming it as some sort of turning point in the making of a champion. Long way to go
  5. geez you know the situation is a farce when McGuire publicly backs the MFC in other news, it is snowing in hell
  6. I think we will win too You can't just let 'the rules' override common sense when 95% of the population is saying the decision is not in keeping with the spirit of the game Or maybe you can if you are the AFL
  7. I would feeel more confident if we had won by 96 last week and they had lost by 90
  8. any chance of a 3 week extension on that injury about 10 days from now?
  9. The last time this happened was when Moloney was crucified.. James Bartel, who had been his teammate just months earlier, torched him on the radio saying basically he deserved to get rubbed out, despite the fact he didn't even hit him. Not saying Dangerfield is a POS like that but you just reminded me of that incident
  10. So apparently these are the blokes that decide what the game of AFL football is today
  11. ''I can't say a real lot because we are going through the process of looking at a challenge through appeal, see if we can satisfy the AFL guidelines in regards to an appeal,'' Notman told SEN radio. ''Watch this space, some things may happen during the day. We assessing it as we speak.''
  12. was he? that's fantastic. Any chance of playing any football for the club any time soon or I guess you don't know huh
  13. good question the very existence of Tom Scully seems to be in doubt at the moment hello?
  14. Herald-Sun poll: Did Jack Trengove deserve a three-game ban? * Yes 9.24% (245 votes) * No 90.76% (2406 votes) Total votes: 2651
  15. 4122 JUDD Chris (CARL) 4.00 $ 1.75 $ 4242 WATSON Jobe (ESS) 7.00 $ 2.50 $ 4189 SWAN Dane (COLL) 9.00 $ 3.00 $ 4487 MOLONEY Brent (MELB) 10.00 $ 3.25 $ 4178 PENDLEBURY Scott (COLL) 10.00 $ 3.25 $
  16. Just judging by what I am reading from supporters of all clubs in several different web locations the overwhelming opinion is that this is a disgrace to the game. I am sure the papers will reflect this tomorrow and I'm holding out for some sort of overturnment due to public dissapproval as a chance. If they rollover, they look bad, if they uphold the suspension they look worse
  17. quote from a Pies supporter named Yuba on bigfooty This whole thread really needs to be in the main page because I'm sure the papers are going to be looking for public opinion. To be honest, I haven't even read any of the posts in this thread, I don't need to. I know the football public agrees with me. I love our game as do we all. The select few which always exist in any argument will say it's fair and should be 3 weeks but the majority, that have grown up with game, they know this is starting to go too far... Byron pickett for Melbourne almost singlehandedly put an end to the bump, we all understood the mentality behind the mrp coming down on it though and although we were sad to see it go, we accepted and moved on. Now.... Now we are seeing hard tackles being punished and this is starting to question the contact nature of the sport at it's core. We need our anger to be made public... I'm a frequent reader and seldom poster on these blogs but for this to be done by the mrp is very alarming to me. Players will be jostling without tackling like the Irish game soon... I've already seen the herald sun opinion poll and I'm not surprised. I ask you, how much less contact and softer will our game become before they stop ??? Are they waiting to be stopped ???
  18. We've lost 3 more top-22 ers to add to the 3 we alread had out (Grimes, Trengove, Jamar, Scully, McKenzie, Rivers) So 6 blokes are getting a game this week that wouldn't have been. This could motivate the whole of this group and force some talent to bloom. They will be put in more important roles than they otherwise would have and someone could be unearthed. At the very least it is a development period for fringe players that will need to step in over the upcoming years at various stages. Dean Bailey gets the chance to try a few things and a few blokes. This is my attempt at finding the positive. Bate Warnock Wonaeamirri Tapscott Gysberts Bail Maric Bennell Morton Martin Blease Cook Howe Strauss Jetta Newton MacDonald plus all the other brand new guys we don't really know yet This group has room for the best 6 to go to AFL level for the upcoming month or so while the side tries to hang in the 8 until players return. Who are your 6 players to replace our 6 injured? For mine: Grimes - Morton Trengove - Gysberts Jamar - Martin Scully - um... Tapscott McKenzie - Bail Rivers - MacDonald then you've got Bennell, Ozzie and Maric
  19. Fantastic post, agree a million percent Even if we fight in absolute futility do it anyway just for statement it makes
  20. how does Beamer go now without the big man tapping it to him? BM is probably spewing about this more than anyone Stef Martin your club needs you to lift right now
  21. You could see a potential conflict of interest - if Jack had gotten off
  22. This is another challenge. You just lost your AA ruckman who has meagre backup, and two of your best young kids. The only thing you can take from it is that it opens a window for 3 other blokes. Time for everyone to respond, again.
  23. I totally think we should continue to push this, it is a matter of principle for how the game is actually played All other clubs and their supporters should be outraged FFS the first time we play tough hard footy in a while and someone gets this garbage punishment for it This is the first time Ive heard a tribunal decision go against us and just not been able to accept it
