  1. must have been thinking of the watts of 3 weeks ago, would deffo play him now regardless there is a lot of blokes out there that shouldnt be
  2. OK so the outraged brains trust has concluded its just year after year of bad luck, thats a shame isnt it. I'm sure there is nothing sub-par about our recruiting staff or coaching staff either.. Collingwood and WCE pay for the best but i'm sure all ours are equally as good Mr 'as a physiotherapist' you tell all your clients it is bad luck do you or do you have any real useable answers?
  3. good call. I would trust my opinion and that of many others before Mark Stevens. I would like to see how much he knows about the club of he was to come on and match knowledge with some of you heavyweights! plus every 2nd jerk in the media just loves to kick us when we're down
  4. well said 50% of the footy we've played in this season has been afwul. About 20% of it has been brilliant mind you! It is just a bump in the road. Think about the list Bailey started with, and the club that was being told it's existence was in the gun. We ARE coming back. we have to harden up now, I am certain by the end of this season we will be back in high regard by everyone. KNow that in a few weeks we will have a numbe of our best players back in Scully, McKenzie, Trengove and Jamar. That's an engine room and a decent one too. Some of the blokes like Green, Davey, Morton and Bennell simply will not continue to play badly all year, they are too good. i'm still tipping us for top 8, but if it doesn't happen it won't be of any great concern anyway cos the picture is bigger than one season. Can you believe we get handed another top-level midfielder for our collection next year!
  5. tricky one, he can surprise you but is often left looking like he doesn't belong out there
  6. how was that one that slid directly along the carpet to a North player from the second it left his boot, cost us a goal he does always do plenty of amazing kicks though that get taken for granted a bit he's lsot some sort of edge though lately
  7. how was his goal last week, shugged off a bloke and stepped around another for a semi-snap type of goal from 50 out, BOOM
  8. who knows thugh, if you have better coaches and better facilities maybe your equiped more advantageously to recover form a concussion no relevance, just mentioning an injury list like that is bad enough without 2 suspensions as a kicker one thing I know for fact is that we have had way above our share of injuries over the last few years so why is it
  9. that has occurred to me someone like Cale Morton is on plenty, because he showed immense promise in his first 2 years. Those sort of contract talks are held in the guise that he will automatically improve. Has simply hasn't stepped up. Yet. maybe what these hawks fellas are talking about is that if you were at Hawthorn or collingwood and a bloke went about his footy with that osrt of timidity your teammates/coaches would get stuck right into you. Maybe it doesn't happen at Melbourne
  10. over the last 5 years or so the MFC has had a horrible run with injuries. At many stages it has been questioned whether our 'tightened pursestrings' existence may have something to do with a sub-par medical department that is not doing their job. We seemed to start this year in great shape but the last 2-3 weeks they've fallen apart like crepe paper. What do we think, just bad luck or where there's smoke there's fire? Sam Blease concussion Rnd 6 Rnd 8 Test Jack Fitzpatrick ankle syndesmosis sprain Rnd 7 Rnd 20 Jack Grimes navicular stress fracture Rnd 7 End of season Mark Jamar knee PCL Rnd 7 Rnd 12 Tom Scully knee injury Preseason games Rnd 12 Has some bone bruising and being managed cautiously Jake Spencer knee ACL Rnd 7 End of season James Strauss abdominal injury Rnd 6 Rnd 9 Kidney laceration I believe Rivers, Garland and Bail are also on it plus Trengove, Dunn suspended
  11. the fact is that was his best game in 7 years and it was only about a quarter. It was a good quarter but its the only one he's ever shown. However, I would give him another run FCS we have 9 players unavailable of course he won't get dropped
  12. I don't see MB as part of the side going forward, would much rather watch Howe stand on blokes.. our forwardline could end up being extremly dangerous one day if Cook and Howe come on, add them to Jurrah Watts and Petterd it is a hell of a group with lots of agility, speed and x factor yet there is a bit of height about it. Lots of headaches there. Here's hoping.
  13. can we give Trengove's weeks to Dunn?
  14. that's just silly how could you possibly make that statement?
  15. also they hit near-rock-bottom, like us, but pulled themselves out of ina few short years, even went all the way, something we are clearly not capable of
  16. so you're saying Bailey had no choice to stick to the original plan, even though juice, who has been a KPF hopeful saince day dot, was finally tearing a game up and was the main reason we were smashing them i'm starting to side with the folks who think DB has no idea what he's doing
  17. who was the first person to use the term 'accpeting mediocrity' it must be the biggest cliche in the history of the sport. The stupidest thing about it is that mediocre actually means average but everyone uses to describe us being utterly terrible anyway, Newton played very well at the start there, there was a huge tackle there that Watts turned into a goal that I was most impressed with. To move him out of that position was nothing short of idiocy from Bailey
  18. except that it's a semi-positive comment so you're full of it arent you stick to basketball you seem to know stuff all about the sport discussed on this website bring in the debutants
  19. yes let's bring in four debutants, i'm sure that will fix everything. They will get about 3 kicks between them and get physically monstered with zero senior presence to assist them yeah, more cynicism and criticism - because it's warranted
  20. about the only positive thing at all that is going on at the club right now the rest is just sad
  21. true the other similarity is that everyone used to love saying that once that soft group was out of the way, the next generation would be hard, consistent performers lead by Brock McLean. Looks like we've come full circle
  22. unlike your good self whose 'offering' appears to be discussion about other posters. Nobody cares what you think about that it's a day of idiotic statements today, and my pet peave is people perpetually talking up 18 year olds purely vecause they are 18 and haven't had to time to diappoint us yet the unblievable irony that seems to be lost on just about everyone is that Nathan Jones was destined to be a club champion when he was 18 but he is now as popular as everyone else that is aboe 21, the redheaded stepson
  23. it's probably pretty fair to say that all the bolded players are either substandard for AFL players or so young that they cannot be expected to make much difference. If we had a full list to choose from only 2 of those blokes would be in there, probably Tappy and Gys ouch
  24. this gives me the s--ts also bloke misses a few weeks in February and he has a golden ticket to do nothing for the whole year it's a game of footy and they're fit enough to be out there, no excuses
