  1. to me its as simple as this - plenty of clubs (Collingwood, Hawthorn, Richmond, Carlton, St.Kilda) got PPs and were nowhere near as bad as us, we have had six GARBAGE years on the trot and we got ONE extra player, big deal! We should have got Naitanui also FFS! plus the fact that ours have turned out to be mainly duds, and Scully jumped ship, and we are still just as crap as ever makes it even more frivolous. It's not like our picks have gone on to create premierships, like Buddy, Pendlebury etc have with their clubs' top picks. Carlton managed to keep their no.1 pick to add to their other 2 AND snare the best player in the modern game all in the space of 3 years! The question is whether we got an unfair advantage or not, well look at the ladder for the last 6 years and you have your answer. WTF is everyone whinging about, do they want us to be winless or something. Christ.
  2. Gee ... I thought last week's team sheet was a horror movie but In Jordan Gysberts Jack Fitzpatrick James Magner Cale Morton Luke Tapscott Josh Tynan Superstars every one of them... wow!
  3. the bulk of them against struggling non-victorian sides maybe 4-5 decent wins the whole time how awesome has it been
  4. a couple of years ago I was sooo optimistic for the future, by my reckoning we had Waqtts Scully Trengove McKenzie Grimes Jurrah and Frawley as a champion core of players coming through, with a brilliant supporting cast of Petterd, Bennell, Gysberts, Blease, Maric, Martin, Jetta, Strauss etc by and large this crop has turned out to be a complete fizzer and we have nowhere to go really Howe and Clark have bolstered our stocks and Jones has gotten very good, but that's about it furthermore we seem to have unexpectedly lost the services of Davey, Moloney, Bartram, Green and Jamar end result is that our future is looking a hell of a lot dimmer than it was back then facts of the matter is that we would be spooners if it weren't for the two baby sides, and all of that potential looks like never coming to fruition
  5. could we be any more pathetic - not only did we tank, we were the only ones dumb enough to get caight out for it, and it hasn't even paid off for us in the slightest. Great job guys.
  6. The last thread got locked, in true 'land style because two clowns took it to a ridiculous place. Mods seem to want to punish the populous for the actions of a few. It's that pitiful philosophy that has you drinking out of a plastic cup at the footy, because one [censored] in 10,000 would throw his glass on the field. A reasonable, logical mind might have deleted those absurd posts and let it keep going. Who am I to talk though, it's 5,30 and i just got home froma night on the gas it actually occured to me to log into DLand. Surely that's not a healthy sign. Anyway, I know for a fact many of us find it therapeutic to talk about this so: Dhead racked up 27 possies today - I didnt see it so I dont know what impact they had. however, his side went down by a cool 120, outscored 9 goals to 1 in the last. That's 6 times they have lost by 15 goals or more this year
  7. we dont lose by 80 every week and if you don't think there's going to be a ton of scrutiny on him very soon if he continues to get 5 or 6 kicks a week then you are the silly one
  8. I suppose GWS are feeling the masive gulf between his performance and his salary and they want to put him to work in other ways. He'll be cleaning dunnies at Skoda stadium soon.
  9. I reckon there has been about 10 weeks total in the last 5 seasons when we have had that luxury
  10. God we are going to get smashed. Their last 3 appearances at Etihad have been comfortable wins over Adelaide, the Saints and Carlton, while we have lost 12 on the trot there - not to mention they have won 5 of the last 6 games in general, losing only to WC by 2 points. We've lost the last 4 by average of 6 goal having played nobody of note. Absolute smashing coming up everyone, perpare yourselves.
  11. don't forget his physical intimidation and overhead strength
  12. there was someone behind the camera holding up a big bag of cash, or a cup of tea
  13. another huge day on Sunday for our favourite son - 5 kicks 12 handballs in a 95 point loss, worth every penny of the minimum 50 grand a game he gets averages 5.5 kicks a game over the last 4 matches - star
  14. nobody considers themselves to have a rivalry with us because nobody respects us enough
  15. how depressing is that, the top 4 can hold their heads up this year the rest have failed
  16. agree, and who has gotten better, Jones and Watts (who was always going to get better). That's it. 6 of those guys in your list should be in our top 10, thats why we are 16th
  17. That performance was every bit as bad as 186 - had we not had such a horrible opponent we'd have lost by 20 goals. I can't give a single player a pass mark, maybe Grimes. You are losing me Melbourne
  18. Another in a long list of duds that soaked up games, took paycheques and repaid years of faith with absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, we lose plenty of games by plenty of goals. He's not far behind Brad Miller who is at the top of this list... at least Miller wasn't a first round draft pick for Christ's sake. See ya.
  19. as opposed to the laid-back, take-it-easy preseason that every other club claims they are preparing for every season
  20. it's not pointless though, there IS a benefit: winning games... a tonic this club needs like a diabetic needs insulin.
  21. unfortunately there is no way of ever knowing, apart from going back in time and sending Rioli to Melbourne and Morton to Hawthorn and seeing what happens. At the moment is not too great of an exxageration to say they are close to the best and worst playersin the league and I'd wager the clubs that drafted them play a huge part in that gulf.
  22. but you say all that as if you have some authority on whther or not playing out the end of this year will in any way hinder these players for the start of next preseason. You have no idea - you are just making an assumption based on nothing. If my car has been to the mechanic and been fixed I am going to take it for a spin, i'm not going to leave it in the grage for a few weeks and let it get 'more fixed'.As I said, professional athletes or delicate fragile little flowers, get out there. Besides, you don't seriously believe that if a player has a slight niggle at the start of next preseason it is going to make even the slightest difference to the team's fortunes, be real. olisik I hate to say I agree with you - something is extremely not right. The chances of him being the superstar we had all bookmarked are completely dashed IMO. Even if he escapes penalty, is embraced by the club and the AFL, and gets himself fit (finally) I very much doubt he will be able to maintain the focus required to be an AFL player, carrying the weight of his cultural and familial baggage. There you go Melbourne cop that, another star sizzles out.
