  1. yes mate we all know that. It's been covered. What we are talking about is getting THREE instead of TWO. Three is better than 2.
  2. i think everyone knows he is a demon no matter what (imagine telling Todd, thanks for moving the family down and all but were gonna pass). What is in discussion is whether the club has taken the best strategy in order to exploit a loophole that could get upgraded pick 26 to pick 3. Unfortunately I agree that the other clubs must surely know as we do that JV is set in stone at MFC and will screw us
  3. what, are he and the old man sitting at opposite ends of the dinner table?
  4. or hello 'go home factor' doubt cemented in the mind of GWS/GC possibly transparent but still
  5. I cannot believe this, amateur hour again at the MFC! Obviously the correct response would be to say that he understands we have to go with the best pick available, and that hopefully he can one day make it to the MFC. That would cast some doubt into GWS/GC and maybe scare them out of screwing us over. He has gone and done the complete opposite, in effect gauranteeing the Suns will now nominate him and we lose what might have been a 'free' top 3 player. Isn't anyone at the club, including his father, smart enough to work out what to tell the kid to say in the media? Nice start to your career Jack, you've just cost us pick 3 with utter stupidity... and what kind of way is that to talk about the club anyway, who does he think he is? Now we can look forward to the player taken at pick 5 becoming another NicNat to our Watts. Idiots every single one of them.
  6. without a doubt NN is the most overrated player in the comp by a country mile everybody knew at draft time that the kid would be an attention-getter and it has gotten quite out of hand the bloke averages 4.5 kicks over 75 games FCS
  7. the fact there are plenty of votes for Blease illsutrates how shizen we are. FCS he has a shot at goal every time he touches the ball, which is rarely, and he misses all of them
  8. the great glass ceiling of the MFC, nobody shall get beyond B+ level no matter what last year's frontline: Sylvia, Jamar, Davey, Moloney, Frawley.. what did they contribute in '12 as a group? we truly are the skidmarks on the jocks of this competition
  9. I am still amazed there are people on this board who have the attitude that the kid did the right thing, FCS you people would sell your own children if the price was right
  10. yeah whatever nobody cares what you think about other people's threads, just shut up if you have no contribution to make - most of us are here to talk about footy not critique other posters
  11. at this point he has a highlight reel that is pound-for-pound with Modra, who is a way overlooked star of the past. If you've forgotten, just check this out: giant leap, sticky hands, perfect timing and the ability to read the fall of the ball.. genuine muscle/presence is the only criteria of contested marking that he doesn't have in spades, but who needs that when you have those other abilities
  12. yeah and the value of posts like the one just made contribute so much to the community, we should all take a leaf out of your book mate
  13. FWIW (nothing) my assessment is that apart from the uncertainty around Bartram, Moloney, Davey and Jurrah, there are almost no write-offs for mine. I have serious doubts about what Bate, Morton, Magner, Sellar, and Bennell might do for us but they are still in it. I honestly see a good dozen names there that have a good chance of becoming A-grade players, at the moment though only Jones and Clark are close (if not already there). For mine, Howey has to be the big ticket, he's just highly adept at pretty much every aspect of the game. Between him and Watts, Trengove, Grimes, Blease and McDonald there's an awful amount of class on the field if it all comes together, and its class in important places. Worth noting that group of 6 players has an average of 39 games each to their name and as such will be 'priming' in 2-3 years time. Grimesy said what we are seeing on field is the 'tip of the iceberg', here's hoping he's right.
  14. could be a double-negative.. cloke is badly out position, which puts him in the perfet spot to mark Scully's shank
  15. and genuine x-factor, along with Howe, putting bums on seats
  16. i think youre correct, forgot about that bit as you were
  17. love this kid quick reminder: if Carlton had tagged Johnstone and beaten us as they should have, we would have got Naitanui in addition to Watts - but since that didn't happen, our priority went to the END of the first round, and we used it on Sam Blease - could prove to work our advantage
  18. R07'11 vs last week: IN: Howe, McKenzie, T.McDonald, Strauss, Rivers, J.MacDonald, Sellar, Spencer, Jetta, Blease, Couch OUT: Moloney, Petterd, Maric, Jamar, Jurrah, Davey, Bartram, Gysberts, Warnock, Wonaeamirri, Bate REMAINS: Sylvia, Frawley, Trengove, Green, Tapscott, Bail, Watts, Jones, Dunn, Garland, Grimes Last 5 games vs Adelaide at the G = 4 wins and a 17 point loss get on it peeps
  19. well excuse me for thinking that when you have essentially the same 22 vs 22 at the same ground, 36 games of football later, and we won by 96 on that day, that it is a possibility
  20. short memories Melbourne v Adelaide Melbourne Cricket Ground May 8 2011 (Sun 2:10pm) Attendance: 19987 2.7 Q1 2.0 6.11 Q2 5.3 14.16 Q3 6.4 22.17 Q4 8.5 (149) Total (53)
  21. it would be such an 'us' thing to do though, play like shizen for 19 out of 20 games and then rip out some surprise form right at the death, in order to screw ourselves over
  22. 15 Western Bulldogs20 20 5 15 0 68.15 16 Melbourne 16 20 4 16 0 69.81 dogs have cats and lions, both away games if they were to lose both and us win one what effect will this have on the Viney situation? if by some miracle we are leading at 3qt this weekend expect Sam Blease to go to the ruck
  23. in breaking news Dean Bailey has been sacked!
