  1. This is an interesting point WYL, and one that I hadn't thought about becuase being in the minority, I did take $cum-bag on face value. As B59, and many, many others stated, they believed he was gone, and a lot had in fact belived that he had "signed" as early as October 2010. If that were the case, that is less than 12 months afater we signed him up. How, in 11 months, could this player go from being a number 1 draft pick, being offered a 2 year deal, and said to be one of the most professional footballers ever seen at that age, just totally wipe the Club in the fashion he did? Sure, money was a big factor, but there has to be more to it than that. Season 2011 brought up a couple of issues for mine that sadly I don't think we will ever get the honest truth about. The $cummy saga as I've just commented on, how the players could allow 186 to happen, and even the 3rd quarter against the Hawks, and the Eagles match.
  2. I will be interested to know how they will show all 9 games live as there are always games that overlap. They will have to do the "viewer's choice" thing like they often do with the NRL on Fox.
  3. I'm of that feeling too WJ. I would love to know how an AFL team could manage to play how we did. The players that played that day couldn't tell me that Geelong are a 186 point better team than Melbourne. Something happened within that playing group, and I want to know what it was. Sadly, that situation may never arise. I'm with RR in regard to the sacking - should've been done face-to-face, there is no other alternative.
  4. Providing the locals turn up, there will be enough bums there. There are a lot of dole-bludging bums around Rooty Hill.
  5. Sorry RR, it just makes me cringe when B59 and RPFC talk about getting KOTD. I actually taste sick in my mouth when I read them talking about it. BBTA is much better. But I wouldn't be going the early crow on the McLean deal, and in some regards the TJ deal either. Hopefully in about 5 years time we can say we were BBTA, but at this stage, we are only "better off", we haven't been BBTA...yet.
  6. KOTD. It normally rears its ugly head (no pun intended) around this time of year, when was the last time the MFC were KOTD? I think it's a stupid saying, and surely we can use better words to describe a similar situation.
  7. Do a google search on Greg Denham. He cops it from every club's supporters! It is actually quite amusing to read some of the comments people make (especially on the bomber blitz site). Who did Denham barrack for before Wet Toast? I don't think he would've started following Aussie Rules upon their entry. Just looks like it's our turn to cop his sh!t, and some of it is probably justified. Nb. I'm only going by what is reported on this site.
  8. Didn't they stop Scully? That said, I am happily surprised that JT ran a 3km time trial in his draft year in around 10min 5seconds or similar. It's good to ask a genuine question, get it answered, and not have to put up with a heap of bullsh!t. Thanks HT.
  9. Are you serious Harcourt?
  10. C'mon now WYL, I'm not sticking up for the jerk, but I'm pretty sure that he wasn't the only journo that reported before trade week that Clark was going to WA. I doubt that these articles are his reasons for sticking the knife in. He's obviously tried to get information from Schwab, or the Club in general, in the past, and wasn't satisfied with the outcome.
  11. Is Trengove's running ability up there with Jones? I'd be surprised if he made our top 5. While you are 100% right HT about onfield performance that matters, Neeld certainly threw the callenge out there this morning when he indicated what times they should be striving for. He obviously thinks that there is a benchmark that most of our players have to achieve, so offield performance is pretty important at the moment.
  12. We have enough show ponies on our list, so it might be good to get a thoroughbred in to keep them on their toes. From memory, Peter Walsh was the closest thing to a stallion that we've had on our list for some time. I believe that's where he earnt the nickname "Whopper".
  13. Maybe he (Denham) is dirty with us because when we tried to call Aussie and got no answer, it didn't give him a chance to listen in on the conversation...
  14. It is possible hardtack. Mods can do it. HT did it a couple of times last week. Can't be bothered finding the thread where he admits to it, but I know of at least 1 other post that he edited without "ticking the box".
  15. DC, please enlighten me. I admit, I haven't read the 6 pages of tripe in this thread - it got a bit boring after the first 2, that's why I made my initial post about this subject. Perhaps you need to read my post too. I said it was my opinion that the 1 week suspension would cover the "leaving the scene of an accident". And, I did nicely ask if leaving the seen of an accident was in fact a criminal offence or not. But you didn't answer that for me, so I'm still unsure if that's a rule. I'm no lawyer (I hope B59 is sitting down when reading that statement), but most of the research I have done states that leaving the seen of an accident, wether it causes death, injury or damage to property is against the law. But as I've already said, please tell me if that isn't correct so I know the facts, and I'll be happy to change my opinion accordingly.
  16. As the coach said, this is Col's first offence under the new FD, and has been punished accordingly. What it didn't say is to what degree they rate the offence. I have no doubt that if his mate hadn't crashed the car, there wouldn't be an issue. Col would've happily turned up to training, went about his business in his professional manner, and no-one would be any wiser. I don't really have an opinion about the punishment, only because I don't know all the facts. Sure, he had an accident and didn't report it straight away - FACT, he had been drinking - FACT, he was judged unprofessional by the AFL community - FACT. Did the Club see it as a fairly mild offence that has been blown up by the usual media sh!t-fight? Was it that insignificant that they (MFC) had to be seen to take some action and not throw the book at him? Would the Board buy Neeld's story of "it was the first time he stuffed up with me as coach so let him off lightly"? Would the punishment have been different if Col had've been driving? Did Col come staggering out of the passenger seat, or was he quite aware of what he was doing? There are just so many questions that I don't have an answer for, and I'm yet to see anyone on here have definite answers either. If I were to reply to the usual suspects about their quest for supremacy, I'd have to reply to every one of B59's posts! But this isn't far off what I'm saying HT; "Clubs don't hand out punishments based on nothing. You and billy2803 really should come to terms with this. It will save you from making further tripeful contributions that release your frustrations." Hope you felt better after you got that little one off your chest. Don't get me started on some of your other posts that I've replied to, but somehow you've managed to edit them and "forgot" to mark "edited". That has happened more than once.
  17. Is it not a criminal offect? Thought it was, but am happy to be informed othewise. I guess when I was learning how to drive it was just belted in to me that leaving the scene of an accident is criminal!
  18. And he's only 17! Every possibility of him adding a few centimetres to his height by the time he's early 20's.
  19. Hang on a minute HT, I'm pretty sure that walking away from an accident and not reporting it is a criminal offence and am of the opinion that the one-week suspension covered this. The issue about how druk he was - well, that's the bit that we just don't know. Sure, the Club has penalised him by making him go to alcohol classes, but just how [censored] was he? Do you know for a fact that he was legless? Have you seen the CCTV footage? Did the Club put him on a breathalyzer? If they did, and you have seen the results, then I'm satisfied with that. If you are guessing, well, I'm quite within my rights not to agree with your opinion. Don't get me wrong, the evidence doesn't look great for Col, but I, unlike most in here, prefer to wait until I see facts before I hang a man.
  20. Replying to your posts is just like going fishing, although I get far bigger bites from you B59. But anyway, perhaps what Old Dee was saying was just too simple for you to understand as you are way above that apparently. Maybe that's why I understood it.
  21. B59, as you love pulling me up on things that I don't understand, I have to ask how you could misunderstand the above comment of Old Dee's? Hmm...
  22. I haven't seen the Lexus logo, and thought we were sponsored by Volvo up until the end of season 2011?
  23. No one knows the entire story, so I'm not sure why some (the usual suspects) try to come across thinking they know it all. What's to say Col and his mates weren't sitting up til 5:30am playing poker? Col's had a quiet 6-pack and thought "I better not drive, I may be over the limit". I'm sure a lot of us have been in that situation before, and let's face it, if training were to start at 2pm or whatever time it was, I'm quite sure that would still give him ample time to get a good sleep in and be ready to train. On the otherhand, he may well have been drinking all night, was blind drunk on his way home, and would've been in no condition whatsoever to train. It's possible too, but again, WHO KNOWS??? The amount of "mine's bigger than yours" on this site over the past few months has really made this site unenjoyable.
  24. I can understand that we should be hopeful with a new coach coming in and all the changes that have been made to the FD. But the amount of Bromance for Neeld is quite disturbing! Seriously, at the start of the year, I'm quite sure most of us would've had Maric and Warnock in our sights, with the departure of Scully and the recruiting of Clark, it meant we still needed to delist one other player. And with Aussie not having a great last couple of years for various reasons, and knowing that he hasn't been in contact with the Club, missed appointments, and the fact the Club haven't been able to contact him, I'm sure it was a very logical decision. And further to Clark's arrival - most supporters beliveed we needed a big bodied forward, and Clark was basically the best one on the trade table (although most beleived he would head to Freo). Might sound like I'm being a bit negative toward Neeld, I don't think I am, it's just my positive meter for Neeld isn't as high as a lot on here! Sure, he has been involved in a lot of changes off-field, but I want onfield results. I hope I'm writing at the end of next season about the Neeld factor!
