  1. Basically, and as DC pointed out to you, that in one post you said that Cam thinks the FoJ sponsorship is worth "x" figure, then you turn around and say you have no idea what he thinks it's worth? Then when I asked where you heard this (the original thoughts of CS), you came out swinging asking where I had heard CS quote the figures that I have been talking about, when I have quite clearly NEVER said that CS thinks it's worth that, and in actual fact, I have said on a number of occasions that he will get the best deal that he can (indicating that he is likely to get more than what I estimate). RPFC, you don't have to rape every post that is published, and if someone questions your posts (in regards to saying something in one post then retracting in another when challenged), just accept it.
  2. Judd's workrate is exceptional, but he still needs help from his teammates at stoppages.
  3. Can't remember where I heard it WYL, may have been from Mick McGuane after Sean Wight passed, and he said that you should never let death or illness force you to play beyond your expectations. When Darren Millane died, it was one thing Matthews drilled in to them for the next season. He basically said that every player knew what has happened (or in Jimma's case what is going on), but it didn't need to be spoken about as motivation. Good luck Jim. Growing up we were pen-pals from when you first arrvied at the club, until well in to the 90's. You'd often write when you were on the plane going to an interstate game, probably sitting next to my closer pen-pal Sean, who used to write to me at least twice a month (and sent regular phots and even his Campbell gloves at one stage!). Having lost my father to cancer this year, which was only 2 weeks after we all lost Sean, your fight has been an inspiration, obviosuly to the greater community, and in particular me and my family.
  4. Had a water cooler moment today saying that we are going to re-rookie Juice, and that we've already asked the AFL for special permission to put him on a 3-year contract so that he will be eligible for the veterans list.
  5. Oh dear RPFC, bad post. I just simply asked you where you read/heard that CS thinks that we need $1.5m+ for FoJ. So, in answer to your question to me - not once have i said that CS thinks that it's worth the amounts I've said. My figures of the $1.3m per year have never been in relation to quoting someone, and it has always been of my own opinion. I may be right, I may be wrong, if I were in the inner sanctum of the Club, I'd have more of an idea. I have always been of the opinion tha tif we can get between $1.3m - $1.5m, I think we have done very well, especially when combined with EW. Anything above $1.5m is ultra-impressive in my view (obviosuly not others). But that's why I have faith in CS getting the best outcome for the MFC. Now, you can apologise anytime you like RPFC, let's see if you have it in ya!
  6. Providing he does what's asked by Neeld throughout preseason, and assuming he still has the respect of the players, which would take longer to lose than some supporters, I'd say Green makes sense. I'd be suprised if we were to challenge for the Top 4 in 2012, so it's a great opportunity to have Moloney, Grimes, Jones, JT, Chip and maybe even Watts in the LG, and it's up to those guys to use the next 12 months to stamp themselves as leaders. But, if by some chance we are charging up the ladder, I'm confident Green will be playing a big role in that.
  7. Hopefully this will then lead to our players at stoppages helping our tagged players. We all know how Flash can't shake a tag, but he doesn't get any bloody support from his team. All the good sides work over the taggers to give the key player the best chance of shaking it. It's only taggers like Ling that still have an impact even with that attention.
  8. When has CS quoted $1.5m for the FoJ? Still is less than the >$1.9m that people are expecting.
  9. While we aren't playing in September, he probably offers a bit. If there is any chance we are playing finals in 2012, I'm sure the likes of Taggert of Tynan will get grerat experience from playing in finals, because Leon won't be in the team.
  10. Of course it should be earned HT, you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I don't think JT or JG have earned the job...yet. A lot of supporters think they have. I think, out of Jones, Moloney, Grimes and Trengove, that JG and JT have got the potential to be future leaders, obviously they need to fulfil this potential, otherwise I'll be the first to say that they don't deserve to be captain. But, if they fulfil that potential in the next 12 months (meaning they could be ready to go in 2013), then what do we do about 2012? I don't want to see Moloney or Jones get it for 12 months, then find that it is given to someone else. That's why I think Green is the logical choice. He WILL be a better Captain in 2012, becuase he will have to play better footy if he wants to play in 2013.
  11. The issue I have with Jones and Moloney is more based on some supporters view that the want Trengove or Grimes to be captain, sooner rather than later, but if it's not to be 2012, and the fact they don't want Green, then Moloney will be a good option. I'm asking, is Moloney a good option for 1 season until JT or JG have come on? Edit - I didn't say Jones won't be in our window, I said that JG of JT look like they will be better Captains leading us through that phase.
  12. Let's just see some dollars rolling in before we get too excited. We had our Hors d'oeuvres with Kaspersky, now let's move on to our entree. Too many are wanting to go straight to the main course. I'd still love to know how long we've been working on this market for. "Some years" is the best I've heard, but tells me JS.
  13. I've been saying this for ages Dr. My key points; * Trengove is still 1 season away from me being able to entertain the idea. As Robbie Flower said in those articles, he needs to concentrate on his own personal development this year, and I feel a place in the leadership team will help him develop his leadhership abilities, as well as working on his on-field individual responsibilities. * Grimes just needs to stay fit. Give me 1 full season Jack, and I will definitely look at you in 2013. * Moloney, well, I'm just not sure. He loves the Club, bleeds red & blue, but I really do think going in to our window tha twe would be served better by one of the 2 above leading us. Becuase of his passion for the Club, it would be criminal to give him the job for 1 or 2 years, only to give it to JT or JG when they are ready (which I'm sure can be as of 2013). * Jones (see Moloney). * Frawley - not mature enough off-field. A Captain needs to lead both on and off, he's only 50% there at the moment. * Green should have 2 years left of his career, even though he is on a one year contract. He is a proud man, and has a lot to prove in 2012. If he wants to be there in 2013, he will regain his 2010 form next season, and I think he is the logical choice for Captain in 2012. We are trying to build a different culture at the MFC, and while Green may not have performed how a Captain should in many games in 2011, I think he will be better for the experience. He wouldn't be the first captain tha thad a shocker in his first year and made up for it in his 2nd.
  14. Didn't harm Collingwood in 2010, and I don't think it was jetlag that lost them the Grand Final this year. Seriously...
  15. Maybe CS is working on his reply to abusive supporters when he says "x" company has come on board for $1.3m per year for the next 3 years...
  16. Joel Selwood-like in my opinion. Is it known if he will play Under 18's in 2012 or will he actually play some games at Casey?
  17. BB is for Bret Bailey. Solid without being a star. I was going to put BB is for Boom Boom, but I didn't know if that was Darren Bennett's real nickname or just one my family and I gave him - damn that guy could kick...wowee.
  18. Pretty sure they are doing time trials today. This will give the FD a chance to see how far we've come in 5 weeks.
  19. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/tabid/8667/contentid/406539/default.aspx I find this guy very good to listen to. No [censored], straight to the point, and not worrying about other blokes feelings. Will be a solid month in December I'm guessing, especially if a lot more ball work is done in January. DM said that there is still a long way to go, so if he's got bascially 4 weeks left of this year to concentrate mainly on running, we know what they'll be doing a lot of! Also saw on Mark Neeld's twitter that the boys are having a time trial tomorrow. This will give a good indication of where the improvement has come from.
  20. Interesting to see Dave Misson's weekly update on the MFC site that he is wearing the club polo with Energy Watch displayed high-ish on the right side, and when lining it up with our emblem on the left, the EW logo is quite a bit higher. This to me means that there is an expectation that a different logo will be placed underneath the EW one. One for B59 though, when the camera is zoomed in on DM, try and picture that 2nd logo underneath the EW one. I know which logo will have more exposure in shots like that...
  21. If we are smart with the compo picks, we could easily target a midfielder from Collingwood, Hawthorn, etc. The way I see it is that, let's use Pendlebury for example, Collingwood will only get 2 x first round picks for him as compensation, exactly like what we have up our sleeve. BUT, one of ours is more valuable than one that Collingwood would get (assuming they finish higher than us over the next couple of years), as our first compo pick comes straight after our first round pick (correct me if I'm wrong). So, I'd be agressively in the ears of player managers whose stocks are being targeted by GWS, and just remind them that their client doesn't need to travel interstate, and that we can offer good $$$ as well as give the existing club sufficient compensation. If we can trade them both for a player that is in that 21-23 age group, that is on the cusp of elite (such a dirty word!) status, then I say go for it!
  22. $1.3m per year over 5 years is what I meant sorry WYL.
  23. What miles? A group trip to the Great Wall and a Mickey Mouse game agaisnt the Lions? We cut our teeth with Kaspersky coming on board, let's just take the time to build this empire, not think that we are at the peak already. There is a heck of a lot of building to do - put the walls up before you go putting the roof on. If a Chinese company is willing, after negotiations with CS, to give us $1.3m over 5 years, I'd be taking it. Anything over that is cream for me. I know you totally disagree B59, but that doesn't mean to say you're right. I'm also quite sure that when EW put the $1.9m cheque on the table, the question would've been asked "front or back". I'm very doubtful that we would've said "$1.9m? That's only enough to get you the back, sorry".
  24. I would imagine a lot would depend on what is in the major sponsor's "package" in terms of where their logo is to be placed. This could have a lot to do with why EW paid so much for the back of our jumper. They may have exclusive rights to the advertising on the window in the coaches box, banner's at 1/4 and 3/4 time huddles - their list of demands could go on and on.
