Sam Weideman + contract
It sums up where Geelong are at, and what the inclusion on Ablett has done to their team. There's two ways of looking at Ablett in that clip. The first being that he was really in the perfect position for the "cheap" one over the top, but Danger was too slow to acknowledge it, and tried to do too much. Had he (Danger) got the hands over to Ablett, he was in a world of space. But, it was Danger's immediate response to do the individual thing that saw him get crunched. That said, had Ablett put that shepherd on, Danger was also in a world of space (he would've blown Nibbler away). Ablett's selfishness cost them as well. While a lot of what happened on the night can be put down to us just dominating the Cats from the first second, that passage of play goes right to the core of what's wrong with Geelong in general. It's bloody marvellous. Back on topic, Sammy's just a nice boy who can play bloody good footy. My love for him grows by the minute.

Injury List - Season 2019
"We may miss a few heading into round one, we're still working towards that but we'll have to wait and see." - Simon Goodwin, 14/02/2019. I'm sure I read somewhere that apart from Lever, all payers have pretty much had an uninterrupted preseason?

Training - Friday 18th January, 2019
If Petracca is, as advertised, at 96kg, dropping 5kg to get to 91kg will see him have a very similar body shape of the likes of Dangerfield and Martin. While I don't claim to be an expert on the matter, I'd also imagine Petracca at 91kg would mean he has worked a lot more on his tank, rather than bicep curls, meaning he should be able to start as a mid, then drift forward like the said players you mentioned. Hard part is, we all have no idea. He might be exactly where the club wants his body to be at. They might be frustrated that his body isn't changing to where they want him to be, or his body may not be able to change so they will work with what his strengths are. I think it's an ok conversation to have on here, but it's going to be one where we will never know the answer to, so maybe stick to having a civilised discussion about it. As long as he plays top quality footy, I won't care at all. At the moment, I think he has higher levels to get to, and would like to think we will see the next of those in 2019. If not, then I'll be back on here looking at reasons why he isn't.

I'm one of the people that have been saying that he looks like he could drop 5kgs. Over the past 12-18 months, I feel that he just looks too heavy. I'm definitely not saying he is fat. Hopefully you realise that there can be a difference between being too heavy (often because of muscle mass) and being too fat. To be honest, I think most of the "critics" of Petracca on here are of the same view. That said, I found your last sentence to be quite amusing. You say he is in ripping nick, which "shows how hard he has been working..." So do you agree that he needed to get in better shape, hence why he needed to work harder?

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
I really struggle with any player using the homesick card to get out of a club. If the day comes where a senior coach is lured by the "go home" factor, then the AFL world might as well shut up shop.

Petracca should be the project player of Max Gawn's dietician.

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
In 2012, May kicked 3 goals and took 12 marks against Hawthorn. Could he, when match-ups permit, play a swinging role?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Now let's get May, KK and pick 24, for pick 6 and 46.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
The below saw him miss bulk games; Knee injury that saw him miss approx 6 weeks (2013, when he could only play for Casey). Back stress in his first season (2014). Testicular cancer (2017) Broken collarbone (2017) Hamstring injury (2017) Navicular injury (2018) For a 23 year old, this is extensive.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I realise that, but he's got an extensive history of breaking down. Jesse could go on for the rest of his career injury free, and good luck to him (personally) if he does. But I have my doubts.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Whose body has let him down, in one fashion or another, ever since we drafted him. He's a beauty, Jesse, but he's a liability in my view.

And some on here will still think we are getting shafted. It's amazing, yet disturbing at the same time. It will do some heads in on this site. Some will be much happier that we didn't cough up 5 for May, but then they will feel agony at getting 6 for Hogan.

Which would mean pick 6 and 15 for Hogan, then Pick 6 for May. JT goes to the draft with pick 15. Loving it.

By 3pm this arvo, there will be people on here betting their kid's life on it that they have heard it's confirmed. Actually, I'd say by 10:30am.

I reckon GWS would feel like that Cambodian kid throughout that Scully trade. They've taken Hawthorn's $5, done wee's in 6 empty bottles (that they got out of a bin for free), rolled up some dried cow manure and lawn clippings and told them it was a packet of Dunhill Blue. Won't be until Clarkson takes a sip and a drag to realise he was royally shafted.

I think it's close to a pretty good deal. I'd personally rather we go for their pick 19 though.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's because we don't have another first round to use for May, and of all players on our list (that we could be happy to move on), Hogan is our best chance to get this done. This is my point - moving Hogan might net us Pick 5. That doesn't mean May is worth Pick 5, but that's what we will have to spend because we don't have any other option. So if we want him, that's what we pay. It's not that difficult to understand.

You're acting as though we have other options and are not exploring them. We can only deal with what we've got. We don't have a first rounder, and if that's what GC want for May, we're doing what we can to get one in to do the deal. We don't have a huge amount of bargaining power, and it's not as though we can just pull a pick out of our [censored] to make a deal happen.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
Just reported on Trade Talk Radio that a deal for KK is imminent. Source was Craig Cameron from GC. Whoever the host is suggested our pick in the 50s would get it done.
