  1. When under contract, both club AND player must agree to a trade. How can you not understand this?
  2. Firstly, let's just wait until after the Grand Final to see if Richmond have gone back to back. Of course I can recognise that their game plan has worked. Results are there for all to see. I think what Hardwick has done has implemented a game style that suited the personnel that he had at his disposal, and somehow they managed to jag a flag. That said, adding Lynch to their line up next year will only improve their current game plan. It will mean the "kick long to a contest" style will be made easier, as there will be two key targets going up, allowing their smaller players to crumb. The amount of times they had Rioli and Higgins going up in a contest last Friday night is far from ideal, and something that Hardwick would know isn't sustainable. Other than the addition of Lynch, I can't see Hardwick tweaking their game plan much at all. Thirdly, it is costing them something - a crap load of salary cap space. They could spend that on Gaff, Shiel, etc, but no, they are spending it on the best KPF they can get.
  3. Naive? Please. Why would a team that is having a "golden era", chase the best KPF on the market at the risk of "disrupting their game-style"? I'll give you the non-naive answer - it's because Hardwick would be salivating at the prospect of having 2 key forwards for his small brigade to crumb off.
  4. Richmond play with 1 tall key forward because they don't have anyone else. Why do you think they have gone out to get Tom Lynch?
  5. Thought it was interesting listening to Roos talk about the possibility of playing Hogan at CHB, then that talking guppy, Matthew Lloyd, talked about playing Weid at CHB when Hogan returns. This must be what it's like to have options, and quality key position players on our list. I love it. (I will admit, I mostly dismissed Lloyd's views, mainly because I can't stand him.)
  6. While I have had a man crush on Bernard for a while now, it's not in the same league as the crush I have on his sister.
  7. All good. Thought you were being harsh on an 18 year old Cat B rookie by calling him a downhill skier! I thought we only did that to our 18 year olds, not other teams!
  8. Thanks for mentioning this - I didn't see that. I knew a bit about Tom when I lived on the Sunshine Coast (which is where Tom grew up), more from a basketball perspective. He was a very talented basketball player - from memory, he had been invited to some camps in the USA. Not surprised to hear he was on the Bullets roster. Was a good kid from a good, down to earth family. Good luck to him.
  9. She's probably ours (without the official title).
  10. Didn't Western Australia abandon ship long ago? Could've sworn it was a different country over there. Just on that, do you guys have your own Prime Minister over there yet, or are they still trying to work out how they can make Alan Bond a posthumous PM? Couldn't be any worse than what we are dealing with in the Eastern states...
  11. When was the last time Rehn got something right? How he gets airtime on SEN is beyond me. That said, he's not on his own.
  12. Source? I think I heard "Melbourne offers" not "Melbourne's offer".
  13. Wow, so does that mean there will be a lot of players pushed out of PA given how much they spent on their new players (ie Watts, Rocky, Motlop), with a 4 year deal to Wines added to this?
  14. Didn't stop them from paying top dollar for (Harley) Bennell...
  15. Even Caro was finding it hard to accept, but did concede, on her show the other night. The reality is, we're just one loss away from the "typical Melbourne" of "fall from grace" headlines.
  16. Kind of feel sorry for any victim of this sort of crime. When a massive majority of this sort of act is completed by drug addicts, it shows just what a sorry state of affairs this world is in at the moment... http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/afl-wrap-footy-world-defends-dangerfield-thompson-comeback-on-the-cards/news-story/8bfc0f643cd77c0d95e99be9b349b2e1 Bet that's the last time he'll let Mark Thompson sleep on the couch.
  17. I think he was busy finishing off his equivalent of War and Peace, called "Why Tyson shouldn't play".
  18. Absolutely no way I can see where Oscar stuffed up in that clip. You are underestimating how seriously good that kick was. Our entire team were out of position once Clarry lost the ball. We had players running forward of the ball, and as soon as we turned it over, Essendon had players streaming forward. That 10-15 metre burst that Zaharakis got because of the turnover meant that Oscar was that 10-15 metres ahead of where the ball ended up being marked. By the time he realised the mistake was made up the field, he ran straight back but the bird had flown by then. Absolutely nothing he could do about that.
  19. That's not how it works on here. He could increase those things tenfold, win 3 Bluey's, a Brownlow and Norm Smith, but as soon as he has 1 miss-kick, there'll be a community coming down from the trees to berate him.
  20. You've been saying we shouldn't chase him if he is pushed out?
  21. Ah, so your contribution to this thread is that Wines could be pushed out of Port because of cap issues. But if that happens, we shouldn't be the ones chasing him? I'm sure you can understand why I have misinterpreted your point.
  22. I can assure you of one thing - he WILL leave Port. Highly likely that it will be at the end of his career, but you can take it to the bank that he will stop playing for them one day. My initial issue was with your little fantasy of Wines being forced out of Port because of salary cap issues, but we'd be in a position to fit him in ours. You can create any scenario with imagination, so I admire you for that, but your views on this one were always going to be off the mark.
  23. Ok, I will seek your views when this does actually happen, which it will, so I'd suggest you start considering your response.
  24. Read the first 2 or 3 pages of this thread, in particular, yours, mine and DaveyDees discussions. You were hopeful that Port may have had salary cap issues, which could've forced Wines out. I was telling you that they wouldn't put themselves in the position of forcing out Wines because of the players they brought in. Now it looks certain he's extending for another 2 years, so I'm wondering what your thoughts are now on this topic.
