  1. Darwin Awards...
  2. Which is basically the same as what @mauriesy said, which you challenged, then started talking about cars. Ok.
  3. What about Pick 11, and MFC 2019 First Round Pick, for May, KK and Pick 19?
  4. Great outcome. I'm sure I've heard someone else mention something similar... Oh wait, there it is...
  5. Tyson doesn't want to go there. He's contracted, so we will get him to North (which is where he wants to go).
  6. Pretty sure that's the sort of role that KK is coming to play (that tall, fast winger that some clubs love), so we wouldn't be looking at Hall.
  7. Red, the issue is that if we play too hardball on Hogan, we could end up missing out on any gun kid in this year's draft, as well as missing out on May, and our list is in no different shape than what it was two weeks ago.
  8. I'm with you Mauriesy. As it stands, we don't have a first round pick in this year's draft. We also need a quality, solid key defender, a back up ruck and some speed on the outside. If we can manage to get all of those things, as well as maintaining a position in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds this year, and all we've lost is Hogan, Tyson and Kent, then it's big ticks from me.
  9. 21 year old (only just), and has played 10 games. Harsh criticism, but your views are appreciated.
  10. But it's not a straight comparison of the output individually (ie Hogan 2019 vs May 2019). It's the output of the individual for our team (ie Hogan & Melbourne 2019 v May and Melbourne 2019).

Nephew of Michael, plays for St Kilda, the MFC and Essendon are circling... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-10-10/dons-circle-contracted-nephew-long-of-club-great Could he be part of the deal with Kent?
  12. Let's just wait until a deal is made (if made), then we can analyse the deal. In the meantime, see my post above about not looking at a possible Pick 5 for May in isolation. There will be more to it than that.
  13. Could include their 2nd rounder back. Who knows. The point I was making was that I doubt it would be as straightforward as Pick 5 for May. There would be more to the deal than that. But, we shouldn't underestimate May either (not saying he's worth Pick 5, but he's a quality player).
  14. I would imagine that pick 5 could include Kade Kardashian too.
  15. I think we set somewhat of a precedence last year when giving up 2 x first rounders for Lever. Personally, if a trade is to take place, I can see; Out; Hogan In; Pick 6 (2018 - presuming they get that for Neale), 2019 1st Round I would then try and trade our 2019 1st Round pick to Gold Coast for May (would require a combination of other picks too, possibly including our 2nd Round pick this year). Means we will keep Pick 6 for this year, and then have Freo's 1st pick next year (Pick 1 hopefully, but realistically 2-8).
  16. I take it you don't like reading newspapers, Sue?
  17. Think that was pretty obvious when we delisted Filipovic and King. In 2019, we are going to have the best ruck in the league, and a more than capable back-up who will continue to get better. A lot of sides would be in envy of our position here.
  18. Didn't think we played our intraclub games on the MCG anymore, Bob?
  19. Well, they suck bot bot then, don't they.
  20. It may have been mentioned earlier on this thread (can't be bothered looking), but there was a stage in the later parts of this season where the idea was discussed that Gold Coast could rip up May's current contract, effectively making him a Free Agent. The reason for doing this is the compo pick they would receive would be of far greater value than what May would command in a trade. With or without Jesse's departure, this is hopefully something the MFC are discussing with the Suns. I'm sure the AFL would look after it's love child if they approached with this request.
  21. Give him bit more credit than that - Paul Johnson was one of our great back pocket players during very dark times.
  22. For no reason at all (maybe just the 'vibe'), I feel that we are happy to have Hogan off our list. We will know in time, especially if a deal does get done and it's less than 2 x first rounders. We'd be mad to accept anything less if Hogan, unless there are circumstances why we'd be happy to accept just 1 x first rounder. For me, the caveat is his injury. I just wonder if the club has concerns about Hogan's body. I know they told us that they got on to the navicular early and he will make a full recovery from it, but are we concerned about his body's ability to stand the rigours of playing AFL, especially as a KPF?
  23. You started it. Severely overrating Kent. He's just not that good.
  24. Be surprised if we don't get offered, and accept, a 3rd rounder for him.
  25. Really? We paid around mid 20 for Melksham and Hibberd, and I know which ones I MUCH prefer...
