Id say it's a good area of recruitment to find top level basketballers and develop them into AFL footballers. Joel Smith seems to be progressing well and we all know Wattsy has a BB background too. Maynard ticks all the boxes.

I think we should be proud of the excellent job Jackson Bartlett Roos and all the coaches have done over the past three years. We now have a brilliant young team laden with talent that will now give us pleasure for many years to come, thank god those dark days are over, it was a hard slog.

Not only is this year uncannily like 1987 as far as the finals situation , but it's eerily similar in that we have a crop of young stars all coming together at the same time

One of a kind , hard as nails, elite hands. My god, imagine when he and Petracca, Gawn, Hunt, Stretch, Weideman,Brayshaw, Hogan, Kent,Gawn and Viney etc. etc. have played 100 plus games together? I know GWS have a good young crew , but guys like Mumford, Johnson, Shaw etc are getting on in age and we may well be the best list in the comp in a couple of years. Our Journey has just begun.

Apart from Weed and Clarry coming in for Wagner and M Jones the only other possible change I see could be Kennedy in for Harmes or Dawes

If he had decided to stay ,why would it take six months to sign a contract?

The only reason I can think of as to why we seem to be stockpiling half backs is that we have guys like Hunt , Melksham and Salem earmarked for positions further up the ground. Goodwin may even think that Hibberd could be a really strong big bodied midfielder. I guess though ,that in the end you can never have enough quality players on the list.
