i agree about spencer.... Great attitude, but not enough tools to compete all day.... from your list of modern day ruck demands.... the only guys we have that could perform that role, are Clark and Fitzpatrick... Gawn in time may turn into a Sandilands type, though that will take a few more years.... And Jamar is way past it, ive already forgotten about him...lol... Who knows what Max King can do in the future, but to raw for this year.... If all are fit and firing, then id like to see Fitzpatrick train as a ruckman...

agree.... The Ox was on the brink of being a champion of the game, then he did his knees.... Who knows how far we would have gone, with ten years of pre knee Ox... Even after the knee problems, he got us into the 2000 Grand final...

Its disappointing that Hogan has injured him self, but i don't think he will make or break our season... Its only his first season... Probably a good idea to just ease him in the team slowly anyway.... Bailey has been flogged on here for debuting Watts early, yet people want to rush Hogan in the team for round 1? Hogan seems more ready then Watts was when he made his debut.... But to me it still seems too early to chuck him in the team, especially without the support of a Dawes or Clark.....the pressure that supporters are placing on Hogan is ridiculous, he is still young... Surely we know by now, that one player can't turn around a club or win a premiership...

Wrap him in cotton wool and send him to perth for a six week holiday... We wont see the best of him until at least three years... Its his first real season, he was never going to play every game this year anyway.... Make sure he is absolutely 100%, before playing him again this year.... This years forward 50 belongs to Fitzpatrick and Dawes.... Who knows? with good supply, they might be a pretty good combo... Hopefully we can get a fair few games out of Clark this year... Maybe we could rotate Hogan and Clark, so we don't over load the pair...

I'd like them all to succeed under Roos.. But out of that list, i think Bail and Blease have shown the most in the preseason games.... Who knows if thats just down to good form or improvement? Its truly amazing the transformation our team has taken under Roos... This guys should be running our country!!!

you must have missed his first season then, because he had a couple of ripper games.... He hasn't looked the same since his hip injuries, at the end of his first season. Those injuries have probably ended his career...

Would the club support him, if he wanted to continue his acting career? Do we expect him to give up acting?

Who would really blame him, if he left? 8 years in defence, for the worst performed team since the early 1900's...

I'm not marking Vince harshly? I'm not the one who brought him into this conversation.... If you scroll back, you'll see how Vince became apart of this small disagreement...lol... eg: About four years ago, some people on here wanted to trade Jones...lol... This is what I mean by judged harshly... In no way am i comparing Vince to Trengove... When both careers are over, I'm happy to look back and review/compare then... Of any Melbourne player, in the last TEN years.... Are you sure about that? Also the crow didn't seem to worried about trading him? I'm not bagging Vince.... He's a good player and if he keeps playing that way through the season... He wont only be our best, he'll be in the comps top twenty.... he has added a lot to our midfield... It has only been one game and you have Bernie Vince in our top two midfielders...lol... Funny that... Suppose people only really see, what they want to see... Ask yourself this.... If Cross or Viney or Toumpas pulled out the numbers that Trengove did? What would you be saying? Would you be excited? Trengove has been far better for us, then he gets credit for.... His on field performances slip due to the pressure of captaincy, bad instructions, poor game plan, injuries and no support on or off field... Yet on here, the boots keep kicking into him.... When Scully left us for millions, it was Trengove who committed for four years... Then some [censored] almost ruins his career, by the placing the whole club on his shoulders and making him the youngest captain ever!!! WTF!!! He's hardly worked out his own game and he's given the captaincy... the club used him as there show piece, just like they did with Watts... The club built up unreasonable expectation and almost destroyed him... Then on top of that, he stands accused of using bloody AOD cream!!! Are you kidding me!! Farout!! Trengove has given us and the club far more then we have given him... When he is out of contract, the other clubs will come knocking and I wont blame him if he leaves..... after what he has been through, i wouldn't blame him if he left the game all together...

Trengove is easily in our top three midfielders... His class can't be taught... Its a hell of a lot easier to play like Bartel does in a strong geelong team, then it would be to play in last years demons team... Im sick of the player bashing on here.... Trengove just walked away with 29 possessions...
