CHANGES 2025: Parts 1 to 6 by The Oracle
We're losing Spargo, McVee, Billings, Fullarton, Sestan, Verrall, Brown, Hore (8) Probably losing May, Petracca, Oliver (3) That's 11 list spots to fill with only Mihocek and Heath coming in so far! How will we fill the other 9, obviously we have White nominating as a FS and Mentha as a rookie upgrade that's still a lot of list spots to try and fill in a supposedly weak draft.

Bailey Humphrey
Exactly, it's not about what GC will deal, it's about convincing Humphrey to nominate us. If he does then game on, if not, as @Redleg said, we have a problem.
-
Bailey Humphrey
What if Humphrey says he doesn't want to come to us?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Yeah exactly, so was a response to the discussion he had with King/MFC. It's what I thought too, was just trying to clarify as the other poster made it sound as though they thought there was no relationship between the two which I found unfathomable.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Elite game, didn't poll a coaches vote 🤔 Shows how far the standards have slipped.

Bailey Humphrey
And coming off a year/preseason where he was building up his tank after his injuries last year. I have no doubt Petracca will return to his best next season.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Yep, makes it much more palatable.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
So he'd already arranged a meeting with GWS before the meeting with King?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
You're having a laugh or have no idea what he's been up to the last 3 years if you genuinely think that's the case.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Do you think Oliver has taken his role as a professional athlete seriously over the last 3 seasons, getting his body into the physical condition required to be an elite midfielder? Yes or no.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Wtf has that got to do with anything?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Since mid-2023. Since signing the huge contract. Not looking after his body as a professional athlete. Getting into verbal spats with fitness staff. Taken to court. Destroying property. Enjoying a recreational lifestyle. Taken to hospital for dumb behaviour. Turning up to preseason camp in an unfit and inebriated state. Yep, taking the club and it's supporters for a ride.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Exactly - so this talk about not treating him with sensitivity is just garbage isn't it?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
How do you know how it was delivered?

Farewell Clayton Oliver
He's been taking the [censored] for years/taking the club for a ride on a huge contract. As soon as he's confronted with an honest conversation from his new coach he has a sook about it. Would it have been better if King wasn't honest with him about his role in the team going forward and then waited until next season/preseason to bring it up and hold him accountable to something that hadn't been discussed previously? The babying of guys in their late 20s is crazy. Yes there has to be an element of respecting someones mental health, I'm not de ying that - but it is a two way street, you can't just continue enabling someone's bad behaviour it doesn't serve either party well.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
So you should, it means you know it's right 👍
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
He's an adult FFS. He's had sensitivity, how about accountability.
-
Bailey Humphrey
If we don't land Humphrey after Flanders nominated the Saints this could be a disaster of a trade period.
-
Farewell Charlie Spargo
The deal Silvagni has from the Saints would be close to double what Spargo is getting from North.
-
Sam Flanders
Well that sucks
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
So you're making assumptions based on what? What other players have told you about their relationship?

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Wait until you realise Langford and Lindsay are OOC when Tassie are able to raid players from clubs 😬

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Trac wants success and to be remembers as a HoF'er. The Suns present that opportunity, being part of their inaugural flag and potentially more in addition to 2021 helps his legacy. I think this is the main driver for him, he wants success and can see it won't happen at the MFC in the next couple of years - the other stuff is just noise.
