  1. A comprehensive performance after a jittery first 5 minutes or so. The leaders really stood up and Windsor showed he has the tools to be something quite special. A clean bill of health and a dominant win on a glorious day, what else can you ask for 😈 Brown really straightened us up, now the question is who makes wy for Petty? A much better mix of smalls as well with Koz, Billings and Chandler rather than Chandler, Spargo & Laurie
  2. Yeah didn't realise McRae was out but with Bont Libba Treloar and the new kid and guys like vandermeer chucked they're still decent.
  3. Dropping Tomlinson for (I assume) TMac is a terrible call. TMac to play on Lobb? Tomlinson was fine last week, TMac is bigger to cover their talk forwards but less agile.
  4. Luckily for you I copied the relevant quotes from the article so you can inform yourself and stop attacking people who are commenting on the MFC's presidents quotes in the article.
  5. This column approached Roffey to provide further context. And the president did exactly that. “Collingwood members set the benchmark when it comes to achieving huge – and let’s be honest – noisy crowd attendances; and that is a benchmark we want to chase,” Roffey told this masthead. “The crowd at a game makes a huge difference - especially a noisy crowd giving their team 100 per cent support. I’m not sure supporters realise how much difference it does make to players on the field - but it matters a lot to them. When the MCG is full and our members are making lots of noise it gives the players a massive lift out on the field. “I will keep encouraging every Melbourne supporter to play their part by getting to games, by being louder in the stands - and getting behind their players whether the team is five goals up or five goals down - because it does matter. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-melbourne-president-didn-t-want-this-remark-ending-up-in-the-newspapers-20240312-p5fbs9.html Don't listen to me, listen to Kate.
  6. He is still contracted until the end of 2025. We still hold the cards but if we don't trade him this year he becomes a R(?)FA at the end of next year.
  7. I don't understand why that's a problem. Isn't that part of her job? Edit: nevermind saw your post above 😄
  8. It's definitely a demographic thing, Geelong supporters are similar to us, probably Hawthorn too. I went to a Geelong Prelim final in 2011 against West coast and couldn't believe how tame the crowd was. Yeah they'd won 2 flags recently but still!
  9. That's not correct, the article clearly states she is talking about the noise level of the supporters as well as the number of supporters. It is a fair comment, I don't know why anyone would feel offended. Obviously it's not all Melbourne supporters, many of us are lunatics that go berserk (after having too many coffees/ red bulls 😄 ) but a large portion are very quiet and sit on their hands, the loudest they get is when they are making negative comments about the team. I've seen it week in, week out for 35 years. I remember sitting in the old red seats in the 80s/90s and one guy in particular walking up and down the aisle pleading with the supporters to get up and make noise. It definitely has an impact on the team, I've seen players (notably Petracca) gesture to the supporters to make more noise and get loud. It's not just when we kick a goal or react to another act on the field, supporters should be proactively cheering to encourage the team and lift their momentum.
  10. It's not 2-1 when we play Freo, Sydney, Brisbane etc at the G
  11. And helps the players ride the momentum. I reckon a big part of the 3rd quarter run in the GF (bang bang bang) was the raucous WA crowd getting behind the Demons.
  12. He would be a big loss and put a massive hole in our list
  13. Marking isn't an issue, can't kick straight. Would be a good intercept defender.
  14. They got the result they wanted.
  15. The media is an absolute joke, the less attention you pay the less relevant they are.
  16. I still find it phenomenal that we cracked 70k last year considering where we were a decade ago.
  17. I don't think he spat the dummy, I think the club were relying on him playing more time forward as he got older to protect him and make the combo work. Unfortunately Max is a poor forward, way to innacurate from set shots and takes the shots on the run he should be handing off. Played out of his skin in the 21 Prelim which set a ridiculously high standard that it's impossible for him to reach again. We weren't gonna dump Max so when him playing forward for larger parts wasn't an option we tried to shoehorn Grundy into that role. He's not a natural forward either and when we dropped him to the VFL to improve his forward craft I think he probably saw the writing on the wall and checked out. That's why he didn't play finals, even as a sub.
  18. If you're relying on Fullarton to be the physical presence you may be disappointed. He seems more in the tall, athletic mould than the bullocking Mumford mould.
  19. Play the game during Dark Mofo
  20. Straight in after a preseason injury with no match practice was dumb.
