  1. Schwab was sacked due to hiding salary cap rorts from Gutnick when the AFL held its moratorium. This subsequently cost us draft picks after he was sacked.
  2. That's a bingo! Don't rely on hearsay or anecdotes - use your own analytical skills and intuition.
  3. I've already said as long as there's an MFC I'll buy my premium membership and buy one for my son. But supporting these incompetents isn't just futile it's reprehensible. I support the club not the CEO or President who come and go. Everyone has an expiry date and Schwab's and McLardy's gets closer everyday. I just hope we can rid our club of them before we lose guys like Frawley and Jones to free agency.
  4. Pathetic comment. Keep cheering on the real losers though, sycophant.
  5. He's one of the best commentators in the game at the moment.
  6. As much as it pains me I'm actually in agreement with this. I don't think I can attend until these incompetents are gone from our club.
  7. Which is why I said he can't step in when we axe Neeld - we need fire and passion not another robotic scientist boring/confusing the players.
  8. Yep. Listening to him on the Footy Show he has no idea and is in far, far over his head. I wasn't sure about him and thought he'd be worth persisting with but that interview gave me no confidence in him whatsoever. His comments on Schwab prove the divisions within the club - this is a CLUB yet there is a fracture between the on and off field components both literally and figuratively.
  9. I can already tell you what he'll say; "That's realistically it. That's what it means for us. There will be another game the next week where we can bounce back if we lose the first two."
  10. Where's Collingwoods social club? At the Lexus Centre? I don't buy it this isn't the 60's/70's anymore who would even go if we had one anyway? Far more important things to worry about.
  11. Wait, Trengove was playing?? I agree on Sylvia, why sit him in the goal square just to try and take a 38 year old Cletcher out of the play? Get him in the middle and if he doesn't perform drop him. At the very least give him a HFF he was useless down at FF.
  12. Yeah he'll say "Get me a Swanny, Pendles and Daisy and we'll be halfway there"
  13. No no no. Craig to replace Neeld wod be a massive mistake, we need someone to reignite the flame and instill passion in the players not another robot. My brother and I discussed this at the game last night - it's well and good to sack Neeld but who do you replace him with? I think we need an experienced coach rookie coaches have failed for us again and again. Roos would be ideal but there is no chance in hell that would ever happen. The names I came up with we're Ratten or Eade with Choco Williams an outside chance though not sure if he's still up to it tactically. As an outside the box there's also Sheedy after he's booted from GWS this year but its probably more of a shock value appointment, the game has probably passed him by and he'd probably laugh at us after we turned him down in '07.
  14. I dot buy it - yes we have some duds in the side but we also have some very talented players. Up til this last week I was willing to give Neeld more of a chance but I think now he's a dead man walking. It just looks like the players have no idea what they're meant to be doing out there, not that they physically are unable to perform. That's down to Neeld not the players.
  15. Good old donuts - I said a couple of years ago we should have traded him out as his value was high and would only go down and people howled me down. He is a dud who offers nothing - NOTHING - to a side. He is ust a complete liability had one very good year and 9 completely horrible ones. Why we signed him to 3 years last year [censored] if I know - I called it a mistake at the time and people wanted to howl me down again. While other clubs develop mods and KPP and then poach a semi competent ruckman when the times right we hang onto our dud for a decade, 13 seasons by the time his contract is up! Wow no wonder this team is farked. Also the stat "hit outs" means absolutely nothing whatsoever in modern footy. Ruckman need to be measured by "hit outs to advantage" unfortunately none of our friends in the media have the ability or inclination to publish this stat.
  16. I'll continue buying my membership as long as the MFC exists but whether I'll turn up to games or not is another matter. It's not even that it's demoralising or humiliating, it's just plain boring and life's too short. A couple of people asked me tonight whether I'd still force/coerce my newborn son to follow the Demons and people have been saying this week that its cruel to do so. I just give them a weird look and say of course he'll follow the Demons it's not even a choice it just is. Two things in life you can't choose are your family and your footy club you're born into them. Following a club like Melbourne builds character and teaches valuable life lessons at a young age. I just hope by the time he's old enough to know better we're somewhat competitive otherwise there's a fair chance he'll jump onto the Cats who is his mothers team - at least he'll be able to see some GF's in colour and not grainy black & white newsreel highlights which is all I have of Melbournes last 2 premierships. Although I can't understand those handing back memberships or allowing their kids to support other clubs I can't really fault you as I would have in the past.
  17. This is his 10th season. Still playing like its his 2nd.
  18. I don't have any inside knowledge, just summarising what has been leaked/released publicly and my own observations as a tragic of this club over the last 25 years.
  19. You were saying?
  20. http://m.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/afl/watts-wrong-with-melbourne-heres-a-good-place-to-start-writes-gerard-whateley/story-e6frexzi-1226613581421 "Schwab's public commentary in the build-up to the season opener was: Isn't it just one of 22? That's realistically it. That's what it means for us. There will be another game the next week where we can bounce back if we lose the first one."
  21. * Egotistical [censored] with a premiership.
  22. So now we now it's going to happen that's ok? I'd say that makes it even worse. Edit: I assume you mean the result and not behaviour of the supporters.
  23. What hope do you have when you've got Jamar in there tapping the ball to no one when he does get it and our guys refusing to stand anywhere near Heppell or the reigning Brownlow medallist? If I were in charge I'd drop Jamar and put Clark as first ruck next week I'd also move Grimes back to HBF and put Sylvia in the middle and tell him if he can't play there he'll be playing out his days with Melbourne at Casey. That's just for starters. Having a starting midfield of Clark, Jones, Sylvia & Viney has to give us some chance of at least breaking even.
