  1. Best protest there is - don't turn up til the team does. Until then they won't get the message.
  2. Fair enough - if anyone at the club had a crack at the supporters yesterday after the utter shite served up by the club then they should walk immediately. We supporters have sat through enough crap for multiple lifetimes in the last decade (or five) it's about time the club had a look at itself instead of the loyal supporters who have had enough.
  3. Exactly - I hope we cop it from all angles this week but I doubt it will happen. No one really cares enough about us anymore to waste time commenting. You want to know what it means to be irrelevant, listen to the defeaning silence this week.
  4. What are you talking about? The comments made about "fickle supporters" were made at the season launch a week or two ago, I assume this is what you're referring to?
  5. Haha what a joke this comment is - we do support the club which is why we want to see under performing individuals given the arse and replaced with people mildly competent.
  6. If Neeld fails the board/CEO/President will roll as well. He is their appointment and they will live and die by it.
  7. I seriously fail to comprehend how Royal still has a job. It is baffling, he should have been given the arse at the end of 2011. One of the best defences in 2010 under Wellman turned to absolute shite under his watch and then he is moved sideways to the midfield where he brings absolutely nothing. Wellman was a great coach for us we never should have let him walk on his contract, one of the key reasons for Frawleys 2010 AA form and subsequent decline.
  8. HTFU - that is all. Desperation to be first to the ball and tackle hard when you don't get it and run til you puke then keep running. Everything else is just icing.
  9. God no. We need to get rid of the old boys club not entrench it.
  10. I agree - some will say these guys aren't the ones out on the paddock but the fish rots at the head and these guys must be held accountable for the pathetic and deplorable state this club finds itself in. Schwab is a used car salesmen who may be able to sell ice to eskimo's but has no substance beneath the surface. Has done nothing for this club since returning and never should have been welcomed back after our last experience with him.
  11. A thousand times this. I don't want to hear any more about how we're at 85% fitness, have a young list, need to get the players up around 100-150 game mark etc etc. All this does is create excuses for insipid performances, there are no more excuses for not being a chance to win every single game we front up for. No we may not be a realistic chance to win the flag but we should be a realistic chance to win a GAME. Balls in your court Neeld, Craig, Schwab and McLardy.
  12. That is absolutely deplorable he cannot play next week. He didn't even have an opponent!
  13. Perspective? Bahahahaahahahahahhahahaha I've been watching this utter shite for too many years there's some perspective. Port have no right to be any better than us based on our respective lists and last few seasons there's some perspective. Doggies, Giants and Suns all showed some heart in round 1 and will probably [censored] us when we play them there's some more perspective. MFC will likely win another spoon but at least we can add to our collection of high draft picks who never actually do anything; how's that for perspective. Only positive to come out of today is that I didn't go to the game otherwise I very likely would have burst a blood vessel in my brain.
  14. All I can say is I hope you're right while not negatively impacting the on-field performance at the same time.
  15. The Hawks have done well but they would seem to be the exception rather than the rule with teams selling games interstate.
  16. If we can get 40k to games against these sides that would be a win. We have over 35k members plus around say 10k more MCC so shouldn't be a huge stretch to be able to reach those targets.
  17. Sorry mate I'm pretty busy at the moment with a full time job, recently married, moved into a new house and welcomed my first son into the world. I'd love to do these guys jobs for them but my hands are a bit tied at the moment I hardly even get to wipe my own arse let alone sit down to brainstorm ideas these guys are paid to think up. One thing I've been keen on for a number of years though is targeting some of the new migrant communities to Melbourne parti up arou the Chinese and Indians. Many come here as students initially so it wouldn't be too hard to set something up through the uni's to try and get some coming to our lower drawing games. Not only that but free tickets to some of the families in those areas through the schools. These are people with no prior affiliation unlike many other target groups and is a way for them to assimilate into the Australian culture somewhat. That's just one idea off the top of my head for groups of potential supporters to target while maintaining our home games at the G. How do you think the likes of Carlton & Collingwood got so big it was by recruiting the wave of Greek & Italian migrants in the 50's-70's.Running a membership campaign that people other than existing members might see would be a good start also.
  18. Weak as [censored].
  19. You are 100% right, it is the "easy" decision. It is a cop-out by those who run the club and is an admission of failure of their abilities as administrators to grow our supporter base with creative ideas and hard work. It is much "easier" to just hock our club off to places willing to throw a bit of money at us instead.
  20. +1 more member my newborn son was joined up yesterday after being born Monday morning. Also got him a Demons jumper and beanie from the Demon Shop. His mother is a Cats supporter hopefully he doesn't ask me what the hell I've done in a few years time!!
  21. Pay on outcome not potential. If he has a good year, great pay him then. Would we rather pay $400-$500k/year to Watts or use that money to throw at a guy like Dale Thomas (we could have the capacity to do both but just using as an example). I wouldn't be falling over myself to resign him yet though I hope he does at the end of the day.
  22. So I take it from the last few pages of drivel we're still looking for a sponsor? I can't believe I read through that I felt like I was stuck in a daytime TV commercial.
  23. He's definitely improved (but really he was coming from a pretty low base) and may turn into a consistent performer who racks up 200 games. But that doesn't mean he'll be a top-10 player in the league or that he'll ever improve his aggressive/physical which is necessary for a player to be deemed successful in modern footy. He'll end up like a raft of players under Daniher, look a million bucks against B-grade opposition, go missing completely when it counts. I hope that's not the case but everything I've seen so far tells me it will be.
  24. He's not going to suddenly become a superstar at 24/25. That may be an average players peak but they will show something well before that.
