Darwin game dumped
Not worried about that, I've actually grown to tolerate Docklands since we've had a win or 2 there. Only issue would be small crowds = low revenue because MFC supporters steer clear.

So that's why he wouldn't come, worried he wouldn't get a game

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
The club has run promos with sponsors The Duke and Sporting Globe in the past so no reason why something similar couldn't happen here. Though a cafe with broccoli lattes and smashed avo on toast but go better in that neck of the woods. This site has the added bonus of being completed within the decade vs the Richmond rail line which would be at least 15-20 years away if it ever happens.

No worries, not trying to nitpick but I love the history of the game and the city so just wanted to clarify for my own benefit if nothing else

I always thought the EMCG was in between Fed Square and Jolimont Terrace, where the raillines are now behind Birrarung Marr. This was Essendon's home ground until they moved to Windy Hill in the 20s. EDIT - yep looks like I was right http://www.boylesfootballphotos.net.au/East+Melbourne+Cricket+Ground

You can also get the tram from Flinders St station right to the doorstep or a tram up Batman Ave from Richmond Station then down Flinders onto Wellington Pde.

Too close to the northern stand swyl, need to get a place SOUTH of the G. And with a social club.

Jolimont suits the well-heeled but Toorak, Bentleigh, Elsternwick etc doesn't

Because it's the Melbourne CRICKET Ground and we would once again be shunted to undertaking training wherever we could find a patch of grass.

Darwin game dumped
This is something that has been commented on for a while by people in the media and this is not a media leak but a poster with a supposed inside source. Wait for the article in tomorrow's Sun quoting Grapeviney as a source

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Probably similar to what North have done at Arden St
-
Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
It's northeastern, near Wellington Pde and Hoddle St/Punt rd

Bernie keen to lure Sloane to the Dees
That would be solved by lowering the threshold for FAs. Younger players are more likely to move for money and there would be a greater pool of players available each year thereby promoting greater player movement.

Maybe we could sign a deal to play there as the away team similar to Port in China. Whenever we play there Crows/Port seem to have more supporters than us anyway.

I love this idea, being from the northern suburbs this is far more accessible and is as close to the G as we're likely to get. Far prefer this to anything in the eastern suburbs or Docklands.

It's just not gonna happen unfortunately. Even if it did preseason would be an issue with the MCG hosting cricket

We should be 2nd and have performed poorly in 25% of our games.

I've always thought that one of the reasons we have such a high supporter:member ratio is because a large percentage of our supporters reside within driving distance of the city. Also due to the stereotype of our supporters being upper middle/upper class are more likely to have expendable cash/time to buy memberships/go to the footy. Put it this way I have a number of friends who class themselves Collingwood supporters one is pretty clued on but no membership and probably attends 2-3 games a year. The rest would name Buckley as their favourite current player. But if asked in a poll they would name themselves as Collingwood supporters.

It was PJs choice to leave, once he's made that decision it is up to those who will still be here to determine the best candidate for the position. PJ had the option to stay, I doubt he was pushed so it would be pretty petty of him to crack the sads on the way out.

That would be a great outcome for those of us in the northern suburbs
