It should be a talking point. WCE were completely outplayed by the bombers yet still won the freekick count 33-17! How the [censored] is that possible??? Wingard gets a non-mark results in a goal. Melksham gets a rubbish free against him, results in a goal taken off us, 50 the other way which ended up in a goal. That's 3 goals right there in a 10 point game. Many more examples as well but just those 2 instances umpired correctly and we win.

Sometimes you lose games, doesn't mean the team is cooked, club has no heart etc I was filthy last night because it was a game we should've won. We didn't take advantage of our opportunities/ dominance and made some stupid decisions/lacked composure. Once the pain if the loss subsides though I'm actually proud of the fight the team showed, especially in the last when it felt like our players were going down left and right, the umpires were giving us nothing and Port had 40k supporters willing them over the line. That's the second game this year we "should've" won but lost. We'll be 6th after this round at 8-5. We really should be 2nd (=1st) at 10-3. It's frustrating but it's not the end of the world/season. We'll make finals and get that much needed September experience/belief that we can actually do it. We get a chance to make amends in Adelaide in a month or so.

The umpiring was criminal, I'm usually fairly level headed about the umps but tonight they were pathetic. The Melksham one was a momentum shifter, 2 goal turnaround. Not just the ones Port got either but the ones we didn't get were horrible bordering on biased. How many times would they take on a tackler and drop the footy only for play on to be called? How many times were our players scragged before taking possession but nothing, Oliver does it once to Wines and Wines gets a free. Wingard paid a non mark. 50m penalty against Oscar when he was in the air to contest the footy inllat the same moment the Port player is marking it. Utterly disgraceful, they want to know what's wrong the game, it's the abhorrent standard of officiating with no consistency or accountability

Wasn't even going for marks tonight. Have a look at Dermie breaking down his game at half time on Fox, he continually ran past the drop of the ball to get front and centre. He's a key forward FFS not a crumber/flanker. Not sure what went on in his head tonight, I would have out him in the middle to get him around the footy and left him there. It's as though he didn't want to get in TMacs way.

That last 50 that allowed Westhoff to kick the sealer was criminal. Are you not allowed to contest the mark to spoil anymore? Yeah we shot ourselves in the foot and too many players went missing but the umpiring in the 2nd half was farcical. We probably had the better if it early but not they made up for it later. Just shattering when you think pretenders like Wingard and Thomas are allowed to have the last laugh. Another horrible one was the goal that resulted from a Jetta free kick (2nd last one). Yeah he got him high but just prior to that we should have had a free kick for holding the ball forward of centre and then Gray blatantly throws the ball out which created the contest that resulted in the free against Jetta. The umpiribg if this sport is farcical, no accountability, no consistency, no idea

The only possible objection I could understand is if the development would impact sacred indigenous land. As long as the scar tree isn't impacted (which I doubt it will be) I don't think that's an issue.

Is Yarra Park governed by Melbourne City Council or MCG Trust? It really isn't land that can be solely managed for the benefit of the local residents considering its part of Melbourne's Sporting Precinct and in particular the MCG which people from all over the city/state/country descend on on a weekly basis.

Not talking about building in those suburbs but access from those suburbs. Taxi trips would be required no matter where you build it. People coming from northern suburbs would need to take taxis to anything near/south of Richmond Station.
