  1. Pet and 3 game memberships don't count in the AFLs audited end of year tallies
  2. 60,000 members
  3. We should be 2nd and have performed poorly in 25% of our games.
  4. I've always thought that one of the reasons we have such a high supporter:member ratio is because a large percentage of our supporters reside within driving distance of the city. Also due to the stereotype of our supporters being upper middle/upper class are more likely to have expendable cash/time to buy memberships/go to the footy. Put it this way I have a number of friends who class themselves Collingwood supporters one is pretty clued on but no membership and probably attends 2-3 games a year. The rest would name Buckley as their favourite current player. But if asked in a poll they would name themselves as Collingwood supporters.
  5. It was PJs choice to leave, once he's made that decision it is up to those who will still be here to determine the best candidate for the position. PJ had the option to stay, I doubt he was pushed so it would be pretty petty of him to crack the sads on the way out.
  6. That would be a great outcome for those of us in the northern suburbs
  7. I'll take them off your hands if you've still got them mate
  8. https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/pert-is-melbournes-new-ceo.1196647/page-2#post-56249310 "My sister is friends with Margie Amarfio who was at the club for a decade. She says Pert was good to work with. Didn't seem to me like there was a split in the admin or bad blood etc in there. Just time for a change, as banal as that."
  9. Reading the Collingwood BF page they seem to indicate some reasons he wasn't well liked at the Pies at the end were he leaks to media, was the source for Robbos Collingwood players on drugs story and tried to micromanage the FD.
  10. Age article says PJ had no input into the decision
  11. Was it an Eddie vs Pert clash? Would be hard to come out on top in that situation Pert would be Trotsky to Eddies Stalin.
  12. Why?
  13. Until we beat Port - then the flag is ours to lose!
  14. De Goey is listed as 191 cm and 91kg on the AFL app (current vs his draft year)
  15. We don't handle being the "hunted" well. When we attack in numbers and win the contests through pressure and workrate we look a million bucks. But when the opposition pressures us, sits off the pack and tackles/harasses us around the contest we don't know how to match their pressure and get the game back on our terms. We seemed to do it for a quarter against Richmond (in the 3rd) but other than that we tend to really struggle with wresting back control and putting the pressure back on the opposition.
  16. I know Neita may be your dad but you may wanna check your facts. De Goey is 191cm (at least) so Neitz only has 2cm on him and maybe 10kg not 20kg This is beside the fact I wasn't comparing their ability just their size and pointing out that De Goey is a massive kid for a flanker/mid type. Similar to Cripps I guess.
  17. Inside 50s were 63 v 42 Clearances were 45 v 26 Centre clearances 18 v 10 Bounces 17 v 2 They smashed us in the middle and at the contest around the ground then were able to run it in space. It was not the backlines fault we lost today.
  18. The Pies are a much better team than I've given them credit for. They have developed a good list of big bodied "flanker" types who in other eras would've been close to key position. De Goey is a beast, I thought he was a small pocket player but he's Neitz like in size.
  19. I thought that was the least of our concerns. We were flat footed and behind all day, got smashed in the middle and got hunted around the packs. Our delivery forward was shocking, back to the long kicks down the line albeit not as bad as the Richmond game.
  20. The article appeared because he was seen on Fridays channel 7 coverage next to Goodwin. Fluff article that fills a quota.
  21. Didn't you read the article? AFLX premiers!
  22. It's nothing personal, the comments are more directed to those who said the club would fall apart if we got rid of him, the players loved him, he was our only good kick etc
  23. 3 kicks but they were bloody rippers dontcha know
  24. Who says we can't trade out first rounder next year? AFLs policy on this is anything but clear. They approved the Cats trading out there's when no-one thought they'd be able to.
