  1. A lot of the suburban grounds were like that I think. Windy Hill and Moorabbin wouldn't have been much better. In the early days of the VFL Carlton and North supporters were notorious for their behaviour including multiple incidents of throwing rocks at umpires and opposition players.
  2. Amazing that only Collingwood Legends Members and above are allowed to vote in their board elections. No wonder Eddie has been able to rule unimpeded for over two decades! For a club that proclaims blue collar roots it is extremely elitist to disenfranchise the "riff raff" lower ranked members. Source: multiple Collingwood posters on BigFooty
  3. Just listening to this now and I think they've undersold us a bit but I get it, if you bet on us to miss finals each year for the last 56 years you'd have made a decent quid.
  4. Sometimes arthroscopes are exploratory and sometimes they are just used to clean out the joint following a previous surgery.
  5. But he is a good runner and provides a good marking target coming out of defense to be a link between defense and offense. Having Gawn on one flank/wing and TMac down the centre or opposing flank/wing should help spread opposition defense's as we will be less predictable coming out of defense (ie not just bombing long to Gawn every time) - that's the hope anyway.
  6. We have the pieces it's up to the players as to whether they have the mentality required.
  7. The one rule change they need to introduce but refuse to consider is reducing the number of players on the ground. All these others are just tinkering around the edges and making the game harder for the umpires and more frustrating for the supporters.
  8. Exactly! And his response to the criticism is even more spin. Which is ironic considering some of the findings of the report. How about "sorry" for any hurt caused and showing some vulnerability. Nah, Eddie and the Pies just "deny, double-down and deflect".

  10. At least yesterday proved they've taken on board the findings of the report - oh wait, no, it only reaffirmed that the behaviour is ingrained and nothing has actually been learnt. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55882443
  11. They probably could have investigated it under point 1 of the terms of reference if they wanted to. https://resources.collingwoodfc.com.au/aflc-coll/document/2021/02/01/9160747e-8def-4ea7-9713-63ce57cef396/Do_Better_CFCReport-pdf.pdf
  12. I'm pretty sure if you reflect on it you'll understand why this is a poor comparison.
  13. jnrmac trying to undermine the findings of the report by attacking the character of the author, why am I not surprised? Did you learn other tricks from Sky News or just this one?
  14. It's not just racism either, its the culture of the organisation and racism is only one aspect. Look at the way they tried to protect Shaw/Didak/Swan/Sidebottom (accidentally walked out the front door looking for the toilet ? ) etc when they were involved in off the field incidents. Look at the comments made by Eddie and the other Triple M boofheads about Caroline Wilson when the Big Freeze was on a few years back. Its a toxic culture all round (not saying its different from other clubs but its more transparent as their Pres is in the media all the time and often putting his foot in his mouth).
  15. Was stiff not to get it last year
  16. Obviously we are the "hardcore" supporters on here but for me it is times like these when I would take out a membership without hesitation. Once the dust settles can rethink things but for me signing up means becoming a member, not just a season ticket holder.
  17. I agree the ticket sales etc are abominable but these are done through Ticketmaster something the club has limited control over
  18. Bumping this thread as it is a great offseason read for anyone wanting to sink their teeth into a bit of tactics/strategies. Lots of great links posted and the EPL articles have more context for me now since I have started filling Spurs this season.
  19. I really wish they would forget about the social club, it's a white elephant and as you say a waste of valuable space. If/when it's built I may be proven wrong but how many people are going to wander past there on their way out of the G if it's a night game or a late Sunday game, let alone in general. 6 months of the year and 6 days a week for the rest of the year it will be left dormant. Much better idea to focus on getting a dedicated area at the G that is accessible to all members (not just MCC) if they want to have a social club location. Isn't Collingwood's in the Ponsford Stand? Surely we could use the area behind the Legends reserved seats on level 2 of the Northern Stand (from memory there is a bar in there?)
  20. I may have missed it in previous reports but any word on Sparrow? Can't recall him mentioned in any if the training reports to date, is he injured? I thought he did ok when given a chance last year.
  21. I agree he was OK, showed some glimpses but really needs to nail his chances. He missed 2 relatively easy snaps against the Dogs and some chances in other games too. Convert those and he'll be a player for us.
  22. Wasn't he injured most of 2019?
  23. This brought a tear to my eye, I remember markc's posts about his wife's battle. My thoughts are with his kids, hopefully they have a great support network around them to help them through this horrible time.
  24. True to an extent however not sure how many other clubs would pick him up if we delisted him.
  25. I wonder why Saban didn't reach the same heights as an NFL coach? https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/alabama-football/heres-why-nick-saban-knew-he-wasnt-a-fit-for-the-nfl/
