This is inexcusable

Pathetic. There is no urgency tonight pure and simple. Skills are shocking. Pressure is shocking. Just pathetic all round
-
Westhoff was playing in defence last week I think

COVID Breaches by Clubs Could Derail Season

The people who infringed should be sent back to Melbourne. -
It either hasn't been updated since last week or the donations have dried up considerably! Still showing $514,449.
-
Goody is too rigid! Hang on, he's changing the setup - Goody has no clarity!
-
If Jetta had stood up he would've been poleaxed. McStay is a foot bigger than him.
-
Well if I lived in Queensland and was lucky enough to score one of the 250 tickets allocated to Melbourne members I would. Being in Melbourne I'll have to settle with watching delayed with a scotch on the couch after the kids have gone to bed. Nice knowing you too.

Rubbish, its purely financial
-
I hope the coaches have told him to keep doing what he is doing. We do not want his aggression to be curbed.
-
The game is at the Gabba so that shouldn't be a factor
-
Have a look next time you're watching at the player taking the kick in after a behind who runs out of the goal square to play on. Every single time they exceed 15m (Melbourne players too) - its so easy to see to because they run from the goal square (9m) to more than halfway towards the 50m.

The outlawed spear tackle is the rugby style one where a player has his legs lifted off the ground and is dumped on there head. The tackle Kozzie performed was a perfectly legal hit, the umpire seemed to pay a free kick because of how aggressive his tackle was. It's like the under 10s ffs
-
What a stupid comment
-
I won't be unhappy to re-sign him but I wouldn't want to be paying him too much. I'd almost be tempted to see what he might be worth on the market. Probably nothing more than we paid for him originally (or around pick 30) so better off keeping him.

Is it the same for the Bulldogs/Tigers game at Metricon tomorrow? The Collingwood/Sydney game next week??
-
What an absolute joke!! I cannot believe this though I should not be surprised. If I was a Queensland based supporter I would be furious! A once in a lifetime chance to see the Demons play multiple times over the course of a few weeks and they're locking people out. People having to try and scalp tickets like it's a bloody grand final! Not good enough the club needs to make some noise about this and put pressure on the AFL they need to go into bat for our supporters

Don Scott Claims Hawks Cheated Salary Cap
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Glass houses - who else might have been cheating the salary cap in the late 80's? I doubt it was confined to the Hawks. -
McStay elected to bump front on. Jetta is about a foot shorter than him. If he lifts his head he risks a severe shirtfront/concussion/facial injuries. It was a split second decision to keep the head down when he realised he was about to get poleaxed. Look at the Shiel hit on the north player a couple of weeks back. The same thing would've happened to Jetta had he raised his head except McStay is much bigger so the impact would have been more severe

McStay got 2 weeks?

You are right every team does it, including us. What I hate is why do the umpires need to be "made aware of it". They umpire games every week, they should be watching tape to pick up on these things just like players watch tape on opposition. The AFL refuses to make umpires full time so they can argue they don't have time to watch tape but this is a perfect example of why they should be made full time professionals. The scragging around contests has been going on for years, it does my head in.

It's not delusional at all, those games both came down to the final minute. Yes the Carlton game could've gone the other way as well but we've improved our structure and ball movement a lot since then. We are clearly thereabouts just need to start clinching these wins. I don't know if you've watched much footy this year but there aren't many good teams around. We are easily a top 8 side and one of a few pushing towards that upper bracket. You might argue that we still have a couple of things to fix before we can make the claim but to call supporters "delusional" for thinking we should be there is under selling what this team is capable of.

We also need to figure out how to protect Max. In the Hawks game they were constantly trying to block him out of marking contests. Last night there were a few occasions early where Max was sat under the ball waiting to take a mark and a Lions player just smashed into him as hard as he could. It was in the context of attempting a mark but it was rough play that was borderline worthy of a free kick. They had made a pretense of going for the mark but their aim was really to smash into Max and hurt him while he was prone.
