What they're saying down at Royal Parade
It was round 1 2006 that I left disgusted. Carlton won 3 games for the season, 2 of them were against us! It cost us top 4. We also lost to them late in 2004 at Princes Park after topping the ladder in round 18 against Hawthorn. I was working that day and remember being in utter shock when I checked the scores.

If the line is MFC -38.5 paying $3 it means Melbourne has to win by at least 39 points for you to win the bet and it will pay 3-1 odds (so you win $3 for every dollar you bet) If Carlton is +24.5 and paying $1.90 it means for you to win your bet Carlton has to either win or lose by 24 points or less and your payout is $1.90 for every dollar you bet

Thursday Night Footy to Return in Round 13
They usually play the TNF games over the bye rounds for some reason (ironically when there's fewer games on)

What they're saying down at Royal Parade
On The Couch ripped Liam Jones apart the other night. Great one on one defensively but if he refuses to adhere to the structure again this week we will walk goals in.

I'm worried to the extent I'm worried about every game. If we turn up like the 1st half vs North we will lose. If we bring the defensive structure and system we've applied most of the year we will strangle them. Still yet to concede more than 73 points in a game.

Clubs Walking a Few Metres in Our Shoes
Perhaps Jeff needs to take a leaf out of his own book as Premier and start selling off assets to fund the Hawks shortfalls. Their premiership cups will shortly be up on eBay, starting bids $1.

Clubs Walking a Few Metres in Our Shoes
And then they whinge when club's like ours, Saints, North, Dogs need extra funding from the AFL.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED- Christian Petracca's move into middle strikes gold
I assume a lot of contracts would have clauses in it that contract would increase proportional to any salary cap increase?- Doing the rounds?
It's pretty amazing how many Melbourne podcasts there are. There's a couple of other general AFL podcasts I listen to as well, Lace Out which is hosted by a Melbourne supporter (and his co-host a Port supporter) and Lystics AFL Podcast hosted by a Melbourne supporter and an ex-Collingwood now Freo supporter. The Bulldogs don't have any podcast as far as I can tell although apparently the comedian who used to do their banners is working on one - he has a podcast with Lehmo called They Came To Play. Another one I listen to is Junktime which is a comedy footy podcast which comes with an *extreme language warning*. Funny guys though they've done writing for a couple of different AFL comedy shows, I think one of them currently works on The Front Bar. Another great podcast is the Kick to Kick podcast which is an AFL history podcast hosted by an Essendon supporter and up to three Melbourne supporters (they don't always appear on each episode but usually at least 2 of the 3). They go through each AFL season an episode at a time and are currently up to 1959 so a good time to jump in- Training Ground?
Because we are a part of the MCC and the MCG is our home - the other teams are just tenants. There is minimal pressure on the surface these days, one training run a week isn't going to do any damage.- Training Ground?
Not with an attitude like that!- How likely a latter season drop off?
Melbourne went 8-0 in 1955 and 1956 and went back to back Focus on the positives- Willie Rioli Suspended for 2 years
Marijuana is a bit different to meth- Potential priority pick for Kangas
A priority pick at the end of first round wouldnt be a huge deal. The Swans bank too 5 priority picks every year through their academy and noone seems to really care. The Dogs got the number 1 pick last year after playing finals. The draft is completely compromised l don't have a problem with a team like North getting a PP.- Norm Smith-What happened in 1965
Yep I'd only ever seen the snippet on the 100 Years of Footy doco from 1996 from memory the video linked above has a longer segment but the entire show would be great viewing. When I think of the amount of content consigned to the scrapheap over the years by the broadcasters and the league it makes me cry. If only the VFL had a Steve Sabol/Vince McMahon type in charge who knew the value of keeping ownership of and storing the video catalogue of the sport. Can you imagine the streaming service the AFL could have? Such a shame.- POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Sydney
Yet Trac got pinged twice in extremely unlucky circumstances. First time he collected the footy, was tackled and the ball spilt free almost all simultaneously. The second time the ball was basically knocked into his lap and he was tackled instantly with no chance of the ball coming out yet he was pinged for not making a sufficient attempt nevermind the fact the ball was never coming out and it should've been a ball up.
