Will be interesting to see how this works against the Dogs. If Bont, McRae, Treloar can waltz it out of the middle our defenders won't have a chance, especially at Docklands.
-
It is a symptom of MFCSS, being unable to experience pleasure and joy when the team starts playing well. Pretty sure it's in the DSM.
-
I thought you guys were just complaining but Jesus BT was insufferable on the commentary in this game. Not just cringeworthy like McLachlan or Basil or Ling but downright unprofessional in his constant belittling of the MFC. Surely the AFL can't be happy with their product being represented in this manner?

I'm pretty sure it's just the website that hasn't been updated, they clearly would have sold at least one Membership in the last week and a bit.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Dr. Gonzo replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
But how about the goal that he DID kick today, what a lovely little dribble kick from the pocket and in the wet mind you where the ball can tend to skid along the ground rather than curl. Bloody ripper. -
And that's with them having pumped the Kangas by 130 points!
-
W We'll get one in 2 weeks ?
-
38k I think
-
But wouldn't they pass the cost on to the home team? So could be an MFC decision to reduce game day expenses.
-
Would be Petracca out I'm assuming if any late change. Sparrow to come in?

I just checked and there definitely GA tickets for sale
-
Apparently their worst since 2004 vs Freo (wooden spoon year)
-
There is some GA available it seems but only in the Ponsford. Seems theyve blocked off level 4 at least in the Southern Stand which is ridiculous considering the weather and chance of rain. I wonder whether it's a club, AFL or MCG decision.

The lack of communication around how this will work for members and people with kids is extremely poor. As an AFL member it doesn't impact me too much cos I have to reserve tickets through Ticketek anyway but I feel for people in @wonnabeeri situation. No wonder crowds are down, it all gets too hard and with the weather forecast as well it just becomes easier to stay home with the heater/fire going. Not blaming MFC by the way, the communication should be from the AFL as it impacts all club's.

It's the same as any team really. If you're not on and the other team is you can lose to anyone, the Kangas taught us that surely. The key is to snuff teams out early so they drop their heads and then cruise for the last 1-1.5 quarters. Give lowly teams a sniff and they'll be up and about thinking they can pinch a win. The Cats were the masters of this in their glory days, they would obliterate teams out of the blocks and then cruise to easy victories.

Hawks have had enough success to last several lifetimes but the club's I want to see down the bottom for an extended period are the Blues and Bombers. Blues havent won a flag for 25 years, Bombers for 20 and if it extends for a few more decades it would be just fine by me.

Thursday Night Footy to Return in Round 13
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
AFL will use it as a bargaining chip at the next media rights agreement. Why give them TNF for free when you can make them pay for it? -
Thursday Night Footy to Return in Round 13
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tell that to Brisbane, playing in Melbourne on Saturday then have to back up with a Thursday night game against the Cats. -
It was round 1 2006 that I left disgusted. Carlton won 3 games for the season, 2 of them were against us! It cost us top 4. We also lost to them late in 2004 at Princes Park after topping the ladder in round 18 against Hawthorn. I was working that day and remember being in utter shock when I checked the scores.
-
If the line is MFC -38.5 paying $3 it means Melbourne has to win by at least 39 points for you to win the bet and it will pay 3-1 odds (so you win $3 for every dollar you bet) If Carlton is +24.5 and paying $1.90 it means for you to win your bet Carlton has to either win or lose by 24 points or less and your payout is $1.90 for every dollar you bet

Thursday Night Footy to Return in Round 13
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
They usually play the TNF games over the bye rounds for some reason (ironically when there's fewer games on) -
On The Couch ripped Liam Jones apart the other night. Great one on one defensively but if he refuses to adhere to the structure again this week we will walk goals in.
