Geez Carlton and Hawthorn are both putrid.
-
That would go without saying, I'd be stunned if we weren't trying to incorporate something like that into any new facilities Govts aren't willing to just hand money over to pro footy club's but if the money will help build facilities with community benefit (like Richmond's indigenous centre, Saints mental health centre, or AFLW facilities) it's an easier sell to their constituents and the media.

I dispute that od!
-
Nah stuff that, I have belief! I'm cured, I tell you; cured!

Either all these articles will jinx us and we lose today or we go undefeated and lose the GF, 24-1. Either way it has to end badly, doesn't it? ?
-
Salem out is a big big loss, fortunately playing the Crows it shouldnt hurt too much but hopefully he's right for next week
-
Yeah that's what I was talking about as well haha
-
I hope all Demonlanders who are there today engage in a "woo-hoo-hoooo" after each goal, get it ringing around the ground

Whenever I see Tom Lynch I hear Duelling Banjoes in my head
-
The last one they showed at 2:11 should be a free but the rest were fine, part of the niggling that goes on throughout a game. The problem is there should've been Melbourne players protecting him instead of letting the Crows get stuck into him.

AFL need to look into Rhys Mathieson!
Dr. Gonzo replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lachie Hunter and Toby McLean from the Dogs are two others who do the same thing and it's annoying but it's the afls fault for refusing to knock it on the head years ago when Selwood started exploiting this tactic My opinion is make them pay if they do it. A strong round arm tackle that cops a guy in the head because he ducks into may make him think twice about doing it again. -
He is much better below his knees than Brown though, Brown is a liability when the ball hits the deck. His marking hasn't been great either.

I hate it but glass houses and all that. Spargo and Kozzie have been guilty of the exact same thing this year. -
Might need to go on TMac's diet
-
So even more arbitrary. So say we have pick 18 ( ) and are looking at this club who is part of another clubs NGA. What happens if our pick gets pushed back to 21 because of Father/Son or Northern Academy picks, we miss out on that kid?
-
No, they changed the rules after last year that first round bids can't be matched I believe (unless its a northern academy!)
-
Yes someone on BigFooty mentioned this a few months ago and I couldn't believe it! For the "blue collar" club they have become extremely exclusive.
-
Sheedy? I was referring to Hardwick but description fits Sheedy as well. I wish they had played for/coached us.
-
Disgraceful and it's only one example of what he's been doing for almost 30 years
-
Is it any surprise? He's from the Sheedy school, he was a scumbag as a player and as a coach he's imparting the same to his team.

Interview with MFC President Kate Roffey: Deeluded Podcast
Dr. Gonzo replied to Kiran's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed, from her answers it seemed as though they haven't even settled on a location yet! If Pert wants to hit the targets set by the board in regards to this they'd want to get a crack on. -
I watch a bit of Geelong as my wife is a cats supporter and I think we could do worse. Would be an upgrade on our squad at the very least and wouldn't cost us much.
-
Similar was said about Langdon when we were looking at him wasn't it?

I think we're winning through system, not talent at the moment and I'm not sure Brown fits that well into our system. Sure if TMac didn't regain his form he'd be a decent combo with Weid but with TMac playing out of his skin it means we have the luxury of being able to pick and choose our preferred combo. We're not going to alter our structure to clear out the 50 and create space for Brown especially not with the form we're in. With regards to Weid I think he came on pretty well last year and would've kept improving had he not had to be the lone man up forward for the second half of the season. With TMac injured/out of form and Jackson injured Weid struggled being the only one up there and being double teamed, especially with the way we were playing and bombing it on top of his head. I thought he showed great intent last week attacking marking contests even though he let a couple slip through his hands. He missed two shots for goal but they were both from 50 out on the boundary. Brown was playing deep last week forcing Weid further up the ground (when he wasn't backup ruck) so I'd like to see him having a run at it as the deep forward with TMac and Jackson playing higher/rotating into the ruck. Weid's numbers last year for a key forward were pretty good and it's easy to forget he's only 23 (24 next month). I still believe that with a decent run of games, support around him, maturity and development he can grow in confidence and become our key forward target for the next 10 years. Look at Hawkins, he was much maligned his first few seasons and it wasn't really until 2010/11 he started playing with consistency (and that was in one of the all time great sides). Now he is considered one of the best key forwards of the last 5-10 years.

Brown was pretty poor on Sunday I thought. All arms and legs going for marks, no pressure when the ball hit the deck, didn't impact the scoreboard. At least Weid has shown a willingness to tackle, I'm not sure Brown fits that well into our structure. Good backup though.
