  1. I reckon there's a bit of mutual admiration going on with these two. Grimesy reckons Strauss will be one of the better supercoach pick-ups this year. For the record I reckon he should and will captain the dees one day. The bloke is an absolute champion bloke and will be a champion footballer in years to come.
  2. I don't mind listening to 1116 while drifting off to sleep but as soon as I wake up in the morning I have to turn it over to 927 STRAIGHT AWAY. Maher and Watson are two of the biggest tools in the media. Their show is just so fake / contrived and Maher's voice is just so........what's the word? Ocker, blokey?.....god I just can't put into words how much I dislike listening to him speak.
  3. Went to Future Fund gig tonight as well - maybe we met each other Enforcer and 45, another good night with some really nice insight into the club. The club has really embraced this group of supporters so get involved if you want to meet some quality dees supporters. High Tower - your post is one of the best I've read on this site in a very long time so well done. I agree with 90% of what you say and choose to keep the other 10% to myself.
  4. I'm sick of hearing about Luke Ball. If he nominates for the PSD he is ours (which he didn't) If he nominates for the ND he isn't ours (which he did) If we end up taking him with ANY of our picks I will be mightily pi$$ed off. Forget about him and move on FCS.
  5. This is great news. Grimesy is potentially the best player on our list imo, it's vital that he has a good pre-season and injury free 2010 if we are to win the flag...............ok make the 8.
  6. Bradshaw is 31 in November
  7. You're a bit late I'm afraid.....
  8. Good luck Jimmy, we all love ya mate.
  9. Harington was on 3AW just now. Quick run down: - 4-5 standouts in the draft - Seemed very keen on Trengove - AFL not keen on us pre announcing who our picks and we need to be careful about telling the draftees - Scully injury is ok - he'll be fine - Brock wanted to leave, wouldn't have been traded and were working on his contract for 3 months - Davey - very confident of retaining him the whole time, media reports were mostly BS, worked on AFL programs to set him up after footy, they were completed and always comfortable about retaining him. - Burgyone - out of race and expects Hawthorn and Port to get a deal done That was about it......
  10. sign him up now 5 years for 4 million. Done. Geez why even bring his name up FGS. We are doing a full rebuild - there will be no short cuts - none.
  11. My mate (who lives next to the Flying Duck) sent me a text on Tuesday night saying he'd gone outside to tell some people to be quiet and noticed it was Robbo / MFC. They may have all been golfing beforehand as he said Robbo was dressed up like an extreme golfer. No harm done by all accounts.
  12. The tigers can stil get a PP if they lose all their remining games. l
  13. Just buy it from the melbournefc megastore so all the profits go to the club.
  14. Grimes was pick 14 If I remember correctly.....
  15. Natanui played exactly like I expected - very exciting in bursts but has a lot to learn. He doesn't look like a natural footballer like our boy does but is an freak of nature. Can't wait to watch both of them over the years....... From a supercoach point of view Watts 42pts vs Natanui 39 pts.
  16. The Royal on Punt Road ( . )(. )!
  17. The SME is pretty unlucky but I reckon a week at Casey in the forward line would be good for him right now..........provided he plays there.
  18. Call the club and I'm sure they will provide them to you as it is in their annual report.
  19. Check out his supercoach points so far: Round 7 - 92pts - 22 possies 13 marks Round 8 - 109 - 25 / 7 Round 9 - 58 - 15 / 5 Round 10 - 110 - 21 / 8 The great thing bout Grimesy is that he hasn't given away a free kick this year; vital when playing in the backline. He just gets on with his role with little fanfare. I'm very excited about Jack and just prey that he can make his body durable for long term success.
  20. Agree with everything you say; no way in hell a west Sydney team is viable......possibly ever. The Sydney Swans are still battling and they've been up there for ages. I don't buy the "it'll give the swans a rivalry" line either as they all say the same thing about another soccer team in Melbourne which wouldn't make me more or less inclined to go. As I said your idea makes perfect sense but unfortunately logic and common sense are a rare commodity at AFLHQ on this issue.
  21. It's a great idea in theory and I find it extremely logical but the AFL want something more permanent and I don't see the doggies relocating.
  22. Jack Watts has had a few kicks and a few handballs and hasn't really had much of an influence at all.
  23. Pretty harsh on Rivers there, the blokes coming back from a fair time away injured.
  24. Anyone with half a brain has accepted that a.) we won't win more than four games this year and b.) there is no way in hell we want to. We absolutely must ensure we get picks 1&2 in this draft.
  25. Good thread - heaps of valid points raised. I think what Jimmy did was give supporters a chance to save the club. By being completely transparent about our problems and engaging the membership base he has been able to harness tremendous support. The turnaround has been amazing but if we can keep building this momentum while we aren't winning it might explode Hawthorn style when we do. I think it's critical to get the priority picks this year. I know that will annoy a lot of people but we have to give outselves the best chance before the raped and pillage draft in 2010.
