  1. I reckon Dunn'll be getting a three year deal. Otherwise, those numbers seem about right.
  2. And I wouldn't call Allison's report Neeldesque. Neeld was clearly giving the players mixed messages every week. The flip flopping at the selection table is proof enough of this. Roos and his team have been consistent in their messages and have stuck by the team. This is part of building that culture everyone is talking about.
  3. I like it. It's honest, firm and transparent. The coaches are clearly communicating what you must do to get a game in the 1's. He kept talking about "defensive transition". It's an obvious motif. So players looking to get back into the side, take heed.
  4. Not a fan. I'd always draft the guy with skills and awareness over a learner. Maybe, I'm a conservative judge? I certainly wouldn't spend a top 5 or 10 pick on a ruckman. Unless, he was just as capable as a KPF. I'm just not for gambling on top picks. NN was a gamble.
  5. Not worried at all. They'll get done. This is just modern footy contracting.
  6. Well, that's good for the rest of the competition. He'll chew up a large portion of their cap and he's an overrated ruckman, occasional forward. I never understand drafting ruckmen in the top 5. Rookie list or late picks all the way for ruckmen.
  7. Agree with everything, but this. He's too slow and a poor decision maker. Given everything you've said above, it's time for an upgrade.
  8. He's got another year to run on his contract, doesn't he? He signed a three year contract last year, wasn't it?
  9. I think he's perfect for our mix at the moment. Speed and ball winning ability will always be perfect for our midfield. He's quicker than Tyson, but wins it as much. Geez, imagine a starting midfield with Jones, Tyson, Viney, Prestia and/or Vince. Delicious. That's a top eight midfield in twelve to eighteen months time.
  10. My Prestia hope is nothing more than that. It's a pipe dream. I hope we land him one day, but it's not particularly likely.
  11. We've also got 30,000 very tough, loyal fans. Even in the doldrums of 08-13, we had that many. I'm not sure if any other club could have coped with the past six years and still maintained such a supporter base. I reckon we have another 15,000 up our sleeve. All those that haven't buggered off to Hawthorn. Yeah, I heard this, but didn't put too much weight toward it. It's a sub-standard seconds comp up there, but I agree. Tearing it up on Mitchell's behalf and still not cracking the senior team would foster some frustration.
  12. He's not playing better than he can. These guys have been drafted at AFL level. In Pederson's case, twice. It's all between the ears after that. Roos has worked his magic, yes, but now it's simply about desire and effort from Pederson. If he can deliver, he can be a useful and important role player.
  13. I'll put my trust in Roos & co. If they decide to challenge before 11am today, then so be it and I'll back them. If not, we push on.
  14. I'm annoyed no one's started pillaging GCS yet. Given they've started their rise, I think the time has past. GWS are still open to raids though. Enter, Dylan Shiel.
  15. I know you're being facetious, but why would you want to merge? We are the Melbourne Demons.
  16. I agree. KPF this off season is the go, bring in another two or three mids for depth and we'll make improvements again next season. Interesting on OTC before, they were talking about how Tom Mitchell can't crack a game in the Sydney midfield and how good their midfield is. I wouldn't be surprised if they shed a midfielder over the off season and guess who'll be sniffing around...our man, Roosy.
  17. Well, as I mentioned, we won't be able to get him this off season, but I'm pretty sure he's out of contract at the end of next year. So get in his ear at the end of this year (I think we already have been in his ear) and prepare to simply say I wanna go to the MFC. I'd give up our first rounder for him.
  18. The players often have the power these days, not the clubs. If he wants to come home, he'll get there. We just have to convince him, but I reckon the Suns have to stumble as a club for him to want to leave any time soon.
  19. They all just ripped it to shreds on AFL360. Saying it was a ridiculous decision to get a ban at all. Roosy gave nothing away RE: an appeal. We shall see at 11am tomorrow.
  20. Just bought an annual subscription. Thanks to everyone who helps keep our great DL online.
  21. Hogan will be fine, because attitudes are changing at the club. That, I think, was Roos' point on SEN.
  22. Awesome. Just about to watch it and Mad Men. And, er, go Jonesy.
