  1. Agree with the sentiment that if he goes for it, it's a real watershed moment in the history of the game. I look at it and struggle to understand why it's even being mentioned, let alone sent to the tribunal.
  2. Calm down. Every time someone has some constructive criticism, it isn't necessary for the white knight to ride in. M was merely pointing out his observations, which he was well within his right to do, and you had to come in and make it personal. Get off the high horse and accept that our players can improve aspects of their game. Further, we the supporters, are quite right to observe these trends and demand improvement. No one is saying improvement is impossible, just that for the team to improve past second last, we need to, as M put it, 'iron out' these flaws in our game.
  3. I think it was Robbo that mentioned it may have even been impact with Georgiou that resulted in the broken jaw. Given that's even in doubt, I can't see how it can go straight to the panel. Ridiculous.
  4. I saw someone else post this after the match the other night. I watched closely when viewing the replay on Saturday night and I just don't believe the above to be the case. Frawley had someone right on his hammer and Dawes was in the square, outpositioned. Kicking for goal was the right move. He just needed to execute it.
  5. How the heck is Dom Tyson not in the votes? Second most disposals on the ground (the most for the winning team) and he kicked the winning goal. Staggering. Absolutely staggering. Shows Porter has no idea.
  6. I took him "cramping" as Chel$ea tactics. Slow the game down. I could be wrong, I guess.
  7. I'm getting sick of sounding like a broken record on Terlich and Grimes, so I'll just pipe down. People know my views on them. I'll leave it at that.
  8. It's exciting really, isn't it? If Tyson, Viney, Salem and JKH keep improving, the thought of Trengove and Toumpas playing under Roos has me salivating TBH. Add Jones and Vince for the next fourish years and Cross in the short term and you have a very exciting group. I hope Roos signs long term. Fingers crossed.
  9. I agree, B, it's unlikely, but my thinking there was that it was an interstate trip and a quite taxing one. He also played more game time than they would have been expecting.
  10. That's an interesting post, P. I don't think I could name a top 10 I'd be happy to send out against anyone in the league. I agree with 8 of those. Howe is far too inconsistent and he's a very slow decision maker. Whereas, Grimes, jeez, he wouldn't get a game for many other teams. But, what this top 10 list does do is illustrate how far we have to go. At least, we have some direction now though. JKH's game was terrific on the weekend (with the exception of that missed shot out on the full). I'm liking what I'm seeing there.
  11. Hang on. That's pretty illogical. They play completely different positions. Byrnes stays. Agree with the rest.
  12. Matt Jones was inconsistent. He started off like a house on fire and went missing for a little while, or at least he failed to have the same impact that he had earlier in the game. He still had 21 touches. Solid. I'm not his biggest fan, but he's certainly improved this season. He goes again.
  13. Plus, he had three touches for over two quarters on the weekend. Love him, think he'll be a beauty. His pressure acts and physicality were good, but as you've rightly pointed out ET, he lacks the endurance at this stage. He'll keep playing as sub. Roos may even rest him this week.
  14. Great post, Paul. But equally, I'd argue that in clutch games (say Grand Finals), having 'top shelf' defenders gives your side the edge, over a team of role players.
  15. It does depend who else we throw coin at though, R. I generally agree though.
  16. Well, they're very different players, IMO. I think the Watson comparison is apt though. Both lack leg speed, but just keep finding the footy. Black is the other apt comparison. He really is a fantastic compliment to Viney and Jones. You've also got a bloke like Cross who can go into the middle for patches too. It's actually a very tough midfield. It's very Sydneyesque. After another pre season, you'll see more gut running from these boys and that's when we should be expecting 8 to 10 wins.
  17. Yep. Took a mark in the corridor and received ironic cheers. The commentators barely noted it.
  18. I watched it again last night. It may have been 2.30am, but he was still making the same stupid, costly mistakes. I don't question his desire, effort or courage, just his ability as a footballer. Further, there's also a difference between making the occasional error and making them consistently. Tommy Mac has been experiencing some regular brain fades as of late, but he's proved himself and clearly has the capacity to be an athletic and commanding defender. Besides run and the things I've mentioned above, what does Terlich provide? He's playing arguably one of the most important roles in a football side. His disposal and decision making will cost us matches.
  19. He has shown absolutely no development in this area in a season and 7 games now.
  20. That [censored] Dwayne Russell just said that there will again be speculation that NN is carrying an injury this week, after another lean second half. I know DR hates MFC, but his views are endemic of the footy media. If NN struggles, it's because of injury. If Watts is struggling, he should be dropped.
  21. I can't recall Terlich making the right decision once or executing a skill effectively. I'm sorry, but he's easily our weakest player.
