I know you're joking, but not cool.

Biases are based on fear, which is often due to a lack of exposure to something. You can treat fear (and therefore racism) by educating. HH, society can change, there will always be pockets of racism, due to a lack of universal education, but to just put your hands up in the air and say it's all too hard, racism will exist whatever, is kinda beside the point. It certainly doesn't and shouldn't excuse it either.

What about Col Garland's signature?

Not sure he plays 6-7 good games. I wouldn't have called the Bulldogs game a good game. He took a couple of good marks, but that's about it. This is the problem with Howe. His highlight reel masks his inadequacies as a footballer. I can't recall the last time he played a really good game. Perhaps, under Neeld. -
I thought I alluded to as much in my last post.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

Toumpas better get another chance. I'll be annoyed if he is left out. -
The Government needs to work closely with the community and its leaders to ensure indigenous voices are being heard. You can't please everyone, but providing a forum for a positive discourse between politicians and respected indigenous voices is paramount. This would ensure tax payer money is spent wisely and economically, and contributes to meaningful and beneficial outcomes for all involved. Ultimately, that's true democracy too.

I'm saying they're at a disadvantage.

DE% is one of the most useless stats going around. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish stat. There certainly seems to be a correlation between uncontested possessions and kicking winning scores though.

Fear is an innate human condition, but fear can be countered with education. Racism often has its groundings in fear and a lack of education.

Pretty tough when money is continually taken out of these communities. The last two paragraphs are so patronising I don't even know where to begin. I don't particularly wish to have an argument on here, but I will say this. It's not up to me or anyone else to tell you where or how you should live, just as it shouldn't be up to politicians to tell indigenous communities how to live. It's like the old daft statement that indigenous people should just assimilate into Anglo culture, with the implication being Anglo culture is superior to indigenous culture. What people who hold this belief tend to forget is the idea of empathy. What if someone told you to assimilate into a foreign culture and way of living? I reckon you'd say [censored] you and rightly so.

What about Col Garland? Should he be on that list?

Did it against GWS in 2013 too, but I get your point. He's done it a couple of times, but if Roos thinks Col is one of those suffering from irreparable damage, then move him on. EDIT. I've changed my tune in the space of a thread. What a dill. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

Always does. In the past he's had no tank. I hope he's improved this area, otherwise he won't make it. -
Jones alluded to this in his press conference today too. Interesting. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2015-06-03/media-conference-jones-and-brayshaw Gee, Gus speaks well. Future leader, indeed.

I thought it might be because he's a fellow Tasmanian. Meanwhile, the argument that Howe is a marketing goldmine doesn't hold water for me. If we trade him for a first rounder, we can get a midfielder who the kids can love just as much. Oh and winning will do the trick too. -
I wouldn't be surprised if he sees Garland in that group too. Although, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be moved on. We may look for win-win trades though.

My girlfriend works in the Department of Human Services and from her experience it's incredibly difficult to remove indigenous children from families where they perpetrate harm against children, because as an instrument of the government, they are paranoid about being seen to create another Stolen Generation. This actually results in a population of children that are traumatised and irreparably harmed, contributing to a cycle of abuse, intergenerational poverty and intergenerational child protection involvement. This all said, a lot of the issues faced by the indigenous community stem from British colonialism and as a result it is really not good enough for the rest of Australia to continue turning a blind eye to the plight of these indigenous communities. So, for example, do not force closure of remote communities and do not remove educational funding from indigenous communities. In fact, this only worsens the problem.

Lol. What? Chill out Bucks, ya f l o g.

Our form will turn around because we'll be playing middle of the road teams. On the evidence of this season so far, we're strong and combative against theae teams and we've won all those games, with the exception of Adelaide. Had we kicked straight against Adelaide, we would have won or gone very close. I was at that game and we won the uncontested and contested possessions, and had the same amount of scoring shots (in fact, they had a shot on the siren).

For me, at this stage, Frost has some handy versatility, but he's not in the bracket of Viney, Jetta or Tyson IMO.

Bookmark it. I've been saying it for weeks now. We will win our 6-8 games.
-
But improvement also comes incrementally. When we win our 6-8 games this year that'll be an improvement on last year. Next year it'll be about ensuring consistency of performance. If we can do that we'll go close to the top 8. Once again, another incremental step.
