  1. It's interesting this though. Our disposal efficiency was the highest its been in weeks against Hawthorn. It was up in the mid 70s for most of the game. Another reason that stat is bloody hell useless.
  2. Really happy for Luke. He's a lovely bloke. I've still got his MFC player suit from when he used to play for the Dees. I hope his team has an off week this coming round though. I've long wanted an MFC coach to be unconventional and tactically progressive. Clarkson was brilliant at this when he first started coaching and Luke seems to have a similar eye for the unconventional. Another ex-Melbourne person doing well at another club. It's frustrating, isn't it? You only have to look at Hawthorn's coaching staff. It's an old MFC boys reunion. I think from Roos' perspective, given it was always going to be a three year deal and nothing else, is there any point in implementing any particularly new strategies if you're not going to be there to oversee them in four years time? I hope though, as 'Sir Paul Roos' says, Roos is simply laying the foundations that Goodwin can then run with once PR hands over the mantle.
  3. Lumumba was actually terrific at getting around his team mates in the last quarter. He did it at just about every contest. Made that extra effort to run up and really get in the ear of his team mates and encourage them. I thought it was terrific.
  4. 'We're cooked as a club'. 'All we're going to do is bring them down'. Because I say harden the [censored] up, I'm an apologist? I'm not apologising for anything and this woah is me crap is pathetic drivel, not to mention unintelligent hyperbole. Well, he had the second most tackles on the ground with 8 (clearly our best) and managed 4 clearances (our equal second most). I'm sorry, but he's miles better than Jamar and at this stage Gawn.
  5. Frawley did play on Pedersen. At least for some of the game.
  6. Oh, harden the [censored] up. I hope that's a facetious comment.
  7. He does show the way on the field to a degree. His chasing and effort can never be questioned. His ability can be though.
  8. I'm furstrated, but I hope the same dills that are having a go this week quieten down over the next few weeks when we win a couple.
  9. Spot on, mate. Teams may change, but endeavour should remain the same.
  10. Couple of his chases today were good, but he needs to do a hell of a lot more than he's doing. Wouldn't be surprised if he has a week off for 'calf soreness'.
  11. Agreed. When Hogan is fit and firing that's all he'll need to do. 3 goals every week'd be nice.
  12. There was a reason I said 'near gun' and it's not fact. It's opinion, although I happen to agree with it.
  13. You're having a bad run today, HH. Thompson was nearing gun status at Melbourne when he left. I remember going to a game up in Sydney where he dominated and kicked three goals from midfield. Absolute gun. Then the [censored] left us.
  14. Our ball movement under Neeld was atrocious. In every game this year we've shown at least one passage (sometimes multiple passages) that have included some great ball movement. We went through two whole seasons where we didn't move the ball like that. Neeld was a disaster. With the exception of today, Roos has improved our defence markedly. It's really an incredibly simplistic and not particularly intelligent way of viewing things.
  15. A lot of them looked sore at the first centre bounce actually.
  16. And it's really the midfield we need to improve and get games into the younger blokes that are already on board (Hogan, Salem, Tyson, Brayshaw, Stretch and Petracca).
  17. Jeez, you're fickle, HH. He inherited probably the worst AFL list of all time. If you think one can turn a list around in two years, you simply don't understand list building.
  18. Don't do that. Make him go for Melbourne. It's character-building. It will also give him a sense of real appreciation when the tide turns. Unlike those kids that just jump on the bandwagon. They weren't woeful at all. There were a few skill errors in there, but pretty much every time we turned it over, they made us pay. We just turned it over in bad areas and too often. We don't attack enough there. A couple of times today we moved the ball really quickly and low and behold, we looked dangerous.
  19. You've gotta remember who we've played this year. But, Jamar is finished. Wouldn't play him again. Trade Howe. Jones and Tyson need to get fit. Dunn needs to lift. He's been ordinary. And we need more from Bernie.
  20. Plus a couple of blokes who are simply not best 22/AFL standard.
  21. Spencer was decent today. He needs to inprove his hit outs, but a ruckman is measured by a lot more than that these days.
