WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEX NEAL-BULLEN
Adam The God replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
A couple of his hard ball gets were Swanesque, but what exactly is it that reminds you of Swan? He doesn't seem to have that burst of pace that Swan used to have. He has an eye for goal though, which I really like in a contested ball player. -
I think in these situations our better players actually lift.
-
I wish. Not gonna happen though. You don't bring Goody in and then completely [censored] on him.
-
I just wish he'd committed to 5 years, with a successor plan after that. He's so brilliant we'd be a shot in that time.
-
And Tyson is 22.

He was starting at CHF on the edge of the centre square. What are they calling those guys? Inside sliders? Watts was doing the same thing. It was used to isolate Spencer or Gawn and get an extra man in at the centre stoppages. Didn't need them in the end to win the ball, but they certainly pressurised the opposition and clogged up space. So essentially he did find himself up the ground a couple of times in that role and it was an excellent return. -
Christian To Be Honest Petracca.

So last week you'd given up and now we're a legitimate chance to make finals?

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)
Adam The God replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he copped a corky in the first term. As well as a forearm to the head from Steve Drunk-Driving Johnson. -
You could argue a bit more short term pain for long term gain. I'm inclined to agree about preferring not to sign Dangerfield, but of course if we were to sign him I'd be very excited. He's checked out. He won't be at Adelaide next year.

FA has actually brought with it a new paradigm whereby players may look to get out of contracts early and clubs may cut their losses and do a trade. What I'm saying is, I wouldn't just be looking on the FA market.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

And I'm just excited to have both Brayshaw and Petracca. Two potential stars is better than one. So I'm going to say I'd prefer Brayshaw and Petracca to Fyfe. -

Thought exactly the same thing myself. How lucky we are to have Demonland. So when do you propose taking them? Way too early to call, but I hope you're right! -
I think simply it won't cost us much to find out whether he makes it back and if he does, he will be best 22.
-
Could easily make his way back into the leadership team too. But we'll see if he gets back first.
-
I'm hoping Gawn can use that height of his to nullify NN.

Shows great leadership, doesn't he? Really impressive. EDIT. Also, loved his thumping of his heart/jumper when he kicked his third. Brings goosebumps every time. I want players loving that jumper. -

Just watching the replay again on FOX and I'll tell you. ANB won a couple of really good hard balls. In his second game, that's very impressive. As was his mate SOS, who provided some great outside run. I like 'em both! -
Eddie McGuire: Paul Roos "obvious choice" to fix Carlton
Adam The God replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nah. Keep BP around there. In fact, make him head of recruiting. -
He doesn't try to overkick them. That's his secret. That last goal against Richmond in the pocket was a perfect example. Not an easy angle, but made it look easy.

To be fair, that's because we have screwed up a number of picks. -
Yeah, I think his role going forward would be as a HFF that can rotate through the middle if we were completely stretched or play off the HBF or on a wing. Pretty much Daniel Cross. His foot skills and decision making off half back could come in handy though.
-
It's a no to Bastinac from me. Let's aim a it higher, especially as our currency as a destination should be a bit higher come season's end.
-
I hope JT gets back. If he does he can be a really good role player, but I think our faith was slightly misplaced in his ability to be able to lead the team and the club out of the mire.
-
I don't think so. They both had some good games in their first season, but they weren't consistent, nor were their disposals damaging. If you look at Brayshaw, he's been damaging for the last month and he'll only get better in the second half of the year.
